I have been using a wireless pen type machine for the past year and a half. I use the Cheyenne hawk with two ipower watch set up. And I will never got back to the corded machines.
I think being limited to one needle company is the reason I would never try this machine. Great video and awesome editing. This channel is going to blow up!

Thanks buddy!! Yes being limited to one type of needles is tricky for sure, but the needles are insane, for real. Worth the try if you know someone whos using it

Luka Lajoie yes definitely I pretty much forced myself to use it for a month to get used to it. I really didn’t like it at first but once I got used to it I loved be it. Some things I would change for sure but it works well. Also since I started using it it helped my back to stop using a foot switch.

Thanks Luka nice review! 🙏🏼 A few things i would like to add.
The batteries should last longer but depends on many conditions, first they need a couple of full cycles to be at full capacity, second the Scorpion will need a few sessions to break in. We measure 5-6 hours @ 10V. Next time the battery runs out check on page two on the display it will show the total active time.
The hand clearence is ofcourse not the same as a regular pen but its more than on for example a Dragonfly or Stingray, depends what you are used to but usually more than enough.
The needle adjustment should be easy to adjust through the machine bag if you have enough plastic so its a bit slack, this gives the advantage that you dont have to move your holding hand when adjusting with the other hand. Rotating the grip would not be a good idea when the machine is having a battery.
I would also like to add that there will be a conversion kit soon so you can use the Scorpion with regular cartridges aswell. More info coming soon.

I've been tattooing for 27 years......in that time....I have watched people reinventing the wheel time and time again......while the idea of this isn't a bad one.....I'd want to know how much the whole set up is.....also....it's only compatable for YOUR needles?....hmmmmm.....interesting.....what if I don't like those needles......how is this worth buying to a career tattooist like me?

    Hi Luka! Great nice video.
I would like to enter the world of tattooing for the first time and I'm evaluating which machine to buy first. I'm in love with this machine!
In your opinion the Scorpion could be the first life machine for someone who wants to learn to tattoo or I have to learn and understand step by step
traditional needles with a normal rotary machine like a Dragonfly or rather a Coil machine.
I understand very well how important it is to learn gradually but at the same time I am afraid of spending too much money on various machines,
I would prefer to start with a solid and good machine. In short, the question is:
I can start with a PEN machine who only uses cartridges instead a traditional shaped machine that use also traditional needles?
Thank you very much and I really hope for an answer. (sorry for my bad english)

  • @mikemagee77

    Hi Luca,
I'm a massive fan of your work and absolutely love your videosss!! Thanks for making them!
I just bought the Scorpion and have been using it for a few days and just cant seem to get used to it! It just does not put any ink in and seeems to slow me down loads-to a point where I think maybe I have a broken one as everybody says how amazing this machine is in terms of saturation :-(
Could you tell me what sort of voltage do you use for round shaders and what for mags?
    Thank you so,so much :-))))

ive been using stingray and dragonfly for a few years and im a great fan of ink machines stuff, the only thing i didnt hear or see much about the scorpion is about bold lines, how does it work with 11 liner up? is the machine more into realistic stuff or would it be even recomend for such styles like traditional tattoos for ex? And thanks for the great video.

    • @LukaLajoie
      @LukaLajoie  6 років тому

@@Hovitv You do that with normal needle and tube setup . You bend the needle whether it's a shader or liner needle at the middle just a little not alot before you put it in the tube. You want the needle to ride thr bottom of the tube when tattooing because if you dont the needle will ne wobbling around when your tattooing if you dont have proper rubber band tension and your needle bend correct

@@Hovitv just make sure you dont have the rubber band to tight though or it will make your needle bend straight again. You have to find that middle ground with your needle bend and rubber band tension. They have to be working together
