I use aloe on my daughter's hair as a detangler every week. She will be two yes old in March. Have been using it weekly for almost 6 months now. I have seen a lot of growth since using it. It works so well she does not even notice me detangling her hair.
I absolutely love aloe vera. It helped me when I used this random gel that gave me scalp issues. My scalp was tender for days and Aloe vera rescued me.
I have never tried aloe vera on my hair but I did like how simple and straight to the point this video was to watch. You've convinced me to try it when I take my braids down. I had some hair shedding after having my daughter a year ago so will see if this helps some.
Yup. I just did it. Literally 10 minutes ago 😄 Except I used mine as a leave in. I got my aloe vera from the hair store. It's a gel from the product line "Bozza" and 100% aloe vera gel (of course it's already strained). There's no parabens, mineral free, Benzophenone free, and no artificial color whatsoever. There's VERY few ingredients in it, plus they premixed this with castor oil, something almost all natural hair sites recommend. Hope this helps you anyone looking for trusted aloe vera source without having to prep aloe vera manually ❤️ Also, use it after patting your hair lightly to remove some of the water. Aloe is meant to store moisture while providing moisture. I'm low porosity, 3c-4a hair type
I have done aloe Vera before, I would definitely say do not skip the straining. I had white chunks stuck in my hair that looked like big dandruff flakes. Even after the wash
Hi Shanique, Can you please make a tutorial/video on your hair regime explaining how often you get trims, do protein treatments if any, hot oil treatments, deep condition, prepoos, cowashes, and after you wash your hair and apply the loc method to get your super defined curls, how do you tie your wet hair up at night so that your curls don't become tangled and matted but still fully dries?
Some use it as a curling gel but you need to strain it before using as a gel if you don't want flakes when your hair is dry. I would use it as a detangler and curling gel. Thanks for posting.
I have 3 aloe vera plants that I’ve been growing and I’ve started doing weekly aloe pre poos on my 20 mo daughter and myself for about the last month. It definitely helps with detangling. Last time I used a large leaf from the store and my daughter and I both had tons of flakes in our hair even after blending it. 🤦🏾♀️
I currently use the lco treatment on my hair every week or so that you did a couple years back and it works wonders for my hair! I would love to incorporate aloe vera into my routine, how often do you recommend I use this? Edit: you answered right after I typed! 😂😂 I'll use it for my pre-poo
@@ShaniqueBuntyn Thank you so much for checking🤗 it worked wonderfully. I was able to detangle my hair with almost no breakage. I added the rest to my daughters deep conditioner. Thank you so much for all of your helpful videos🥰
My hair really loves Aloe Vera! I make both the gel and juice, but I always have to use a strainer or my hair will be COVERED with flakes the next day.
Thanks for you your amazing video! I have a few questions: 1. I've seen some videos in the past where natural hair gals don't comb out their hair for lengths of time. Do you lose a lot of hair when you detangle or how often do you do it? 2. Using it as a pre-poo, is there a reason why you don't leave all that aloe vera in your hair? 3. My hair looks all curly when it's wet but the curls disappear after it dries; is there a way to have curly hair naturally when dry? Thanks so much in advance!
I can never get a wash and go to last a week, let alone two weeks and still look decent. Also haven't done a pre-poo in so long but I do have some aloe that I keep meaning to use up. Never tried the scoop out method though, I usually just section and rub the cut aloe halves across my scalp and down each section of hair. Your hair looked really soft in the shower.
Aloe vera gel has really helped soften and grow my hair and I found an easy way to get the juice off without a blender or the mixing or the lamps, and I made a short how to video on my channel. I can be inconsistent, so making my hair routine easy is really important to me. This was really helpful too.

@@ShaniqueBuntyn my hair looked dull, shredded a lot. Normal it would take along time to dry when it’s wet but it dried out easily. I used my sister products. Faith Does It Hair Care products
Interesting.. aloe may not be for you. Everyone’s hair reacts differently. If you are certain you have protein overload. Stay away from protein for a few weeks and only use products that do not have any protein. Once things are back to normal go back to using the products you are use to.
Hey Shanique, is this the first time you pre-pooed with the aloe vera, and it will be a before and after type situation? Just curious I would like to watch its progress on your hair, I'm trying to start a new regimen for my hair, I'm post menopausal and trying to encourage hair growth at the scalp.
Hey this is my first time trying it on a wash and go. I have used it in the past but not consistently. I plan to make it apart of my regimen. I will definitely keep you guys updated on how it works for my hair in terms of growth and dry scalp issues.
Even using a satin scarf and bonnet my wash and go never reach 2 weeks. After a week my hair is too dry and my ends start to make a lot of knots. When I try to moisturise them with a little bit of mist spray, my curls start to turn frizzy and after a day the frontside lose the curls. I'm thinking maybe not everybody can reach 2 weeks.
No not everyone will make it two weeks. Most make it to about 4 days. I was just sharing what I do to maintain my hair. We have to remember that everyone’s hair is different and not every routine will work the same.
I use aloe vera it's excellent definitely helps with moisture and length retention. One thing, when you do the first cut, taking the base off the leaf, you are supposed to soak the aloe vera to to remove the latex which can be an irritant. I use the gel personally (readymade), a lot easier to use and I mix it with oil.
Yes. I use it as a prepoo every wash day. I usually blend mine and strain it. Then I put it in a spray bottle then spray on my scalp and hair and leave it on my hair for a couple of hours. It really helps with moisture retention.

No need to cut the aloe vera in pieces. It can be sliced in two and scooped out with a spoon

Yes, it promotes hair growth....it doesn't surprise me that you can run your comb through while in....🤗

What about as a leave in? Would you try aloe Vera in your hair as a leave in up until your wash day, and then do a before and after length check?.
