    Don't know why Mint developers make rounded corners on dialogs and such but the windows still have square corners on the bottom.
    Can we just go all rounded please?

    With Linux Mint 22 my old eyes have difficulty reading the off white text on a medium grey background. I'm hoping the colour adjustments increase contrast enough for me to read everything.

    *Hello Linux Ort*
    That is a nice review - so thank you very much for that.
    These changes all seem intentionally slow - but that does not bother me.
    I use LMDE-6 - so it will be some time before any of these things are added to LMDE-7.

    • @LinuxOrt
      @LinuxOrt  Місяць тому +1

      Maybe Cinnamon 6.4 will also be ported to LMDE 6, but I can't verify that at the moment :)
      You are right, these are only a few changes. At the moment the Linux Mint Team is working a lot under the hood to ensure Linux Mint will be proof for the futur :)

    • @LinuxOrt
      @LinuxOrt  Місяць тому

      Update: According to the forums it will come to LMDE 6 after the 22.1 release :)

      @@LinuxOrt *I see a bright future for Mint*
      It is a very welcoming Operating system for those wanting to leave Microsoft behind.
      Mint - makes the transition to Linux for such MS users - easier than many of the other distributions.
      Offering Mate & XFCE alongside of Cinnamon is good -- but I think there's a case to be made for a KDE version.

    • @PoeLemic
      @PoeLemic Місяць тому +1

      @@PaxAlotin Yes, lot of people leaving Windows. I've been in MS products my entire life, but I am really FOOKING FED UP with how they are handling Win10. So, I'm leaving.
      I've been abused quite enough, and I've just got to learn enough to jump ship before Oct 2025. I am not paying $40 bucks a year to keep my systems up-to-date w/virus protection.

    I am an old world PC guy, technician and problem solver etc, even though I have not done much in that area for decades I still get people asking for help when I am back in my home town, and even in my other career I would end up being the Tech guy...
    anyway, this version of Mint looks good, though I have to wonder what you really mean by "looks more modern" in reference to the volume slider and calendar.
    to me it seems this "Modern" look is a mirror of Windows, which is a take from older Apple styles.
    I agree that the 1980/90's desktop graphics are over due to being replaced, I do not see anything modern in the current ideas from Linux or Windows.
    none of that is an issue though, for me as i get older, the biggest issue with all computers is the font, the bigger the Resolution of the desktop and yet the fonts still look like standard from 1989. IDK.
    I do know a larger more suitable modernized font would save all users eyes as much as the nightlight can. computers are not going away, but fonts need to improve, on this at least Android and Apple are trying. (just my current opinion)

As for the LM itself it absolutely does support HDMI. I Use it regularly and also through a HDMI splitter. Hope it all works out for you.
