I have a fetish for ties, it is no secret. I love to buy ties, and tie ties. This is a fancy knot called the Eldredge which I learned a few years ago. Anytime I wear it people notice, and they ask me how I did it. This is my answer. If you choose to incorporate this tie please give me a shout!

My grandfather gave me a book, when I was about 10, that was nothing but tie-knots.
It included this one (but with a rather long critique of when it was and wasn't appropriate to wear it).
I am shocked to discover that others have discovered these more extravagant knots.
I've found that they are VERY powerful for job interviews, and will almost guarantee a call-back, or even the job (although I've worked for myself most of my life - so haven't needed it).
But thanks for the videos, even if I am a bit upset that you have let out the secret.

I have never been a fan of the default knot everyone always wears. On your channel, I have found great new ways to wear a necktie, impress people and make the ol' suit feel more fresh. Just taught my fiance how to tie this knot. It looks amazing with his patterned tie. I love it and will be trying more styles next time he has to wear a tie.
I love the eldredge knot. I'm a dj and I do a lot of weddings in different states I always use this knot and receive a lot of compliments and questions.
That gold tie you have in the thumbnail makes this knot look majestic. I did it with my hot pink tie today and it looks amazing also. So maybe bright solid colors (to bring out the shadows) work best for this knot.

You are the man. Ever since I saw The Matrix and the Merovingian had a tie on that I thought was some special European styled tie I searched like crazy for it. Now I too can pull off that look thanks to you. I did the trinity knot on Sunday. However, I wasn't still long enough for it to be noticed. My first introduction into non-traditional knots, thank you so much Alex! Tip for beginners: let the big end be a bit shorter than what you want, so that at the end you can cinch up the tie using the big end.

When matrix reload came out, I loved how the cape knot looked. So I looked for a alternative knot- besides the Windsor- and I came across Eldridge & trinity knots. They are my favorite. But after a while not using the Eldridge, I forgot how to tie it. Very helpful video.
