I'm betting it's something simple... You're almost there Tony.

Noooooo, I was so waiting to see if flowtech did a good job....now we'll go down the electrical troubleshooting hole, should be fun.😅

It looks like you don't have tach signal. It's a green wire that connects to the small stud on coil.

Hi Tony, it has been a little while since I have posted a comment - I have been continuing to watch your journey and you are almost there - just viewed your latest video and saw you have no spark - given your tenacity you may have already resolved the problem - an intermittent problem I encountered some time ago with my M117.968 and which took me some time to diagnose was the Speed Sender Unit (Part A0001538820) from the rear of the block to the EZL - if there is no signal to EZL then there is no spark - from memory resistance for the sensor is 8 Ohms - I know you are very methodical and this likely already on your list of things to check - On another note - in the video at 4 minutes I notice fuel pooling in all bowls except the one in the bottom right??? Wishing you every success in this latest challenge.

@@adambest7603 hey there Adam. Thanks for reaching out. So far I have not found the problem. The ignition coil and EZL all have power and resistance tests are all good. The crankshaft position sensor is sending pulses to the EZL as well. Basically everything is working, but nothing out of the coil to distributor. However I did find a direct short on the positive (terminal 15) of the ignition coil which I am trying to trace down. There are 3 wires on this terminal. The bad wire goes inside driver’s side dash and to the footwell according to the manual and plugs into X26 (what ever that is). The manual says this is circuit 15 which is all the major stuff like fuel pumps, EHA and so on. Maybe I’ll figure it out later today. The angle didn’t show it well, but there was just a bit of fuel in that one port. I think there was more air as that port is the furthest from the inlet I believe.

The plate must be level with the bottom of the inlet cone.
And then you have to set the 1/3 millimeter play

Hi Tony , I have the same model R107 as you 1987 560 SL I drive mine every day, I must say this what I notice with yours is that when you turn the engine over it appears that your ignition timing sounds to me a little too advanced, my ignition timing is a little more retarded and not spinning as fast as yours does that’s just something I notice different in a starting engine and a non starting engine, maybe this can give a clue somehow to help with your Roadster 👍

How do you adjust the ignition timing on the 560 ? Just not aware that it is possible. Tks.

Tony, I have an 87 570 sl. I don't think rebuilding the fuel distributor was a waste of money BUT the KE Jet has no flow adjustment screws. The EHA is the only real adjustment between the two halves - I think with the EHA unplugged it's a 2.1 bar delta? See Kens videos to verify. The main issue I think you are having though is your idle air mixture screw - someone may have played with it. To get the car started, there is a procedure to screw it all the way in and then 3.5 revs out to get it to a range where it will start then you can simply adjust it to where you get a smooth idle. I had to do that on my 85 380 sl. But when I followed that procedure I got it started. Happy to walk you through it I'll dig up the vid for the idle air mix procedure and post it.

@@matthewstephenbrown thanks for the comment. I did a short video on the adjustment screw of the KE-Jetronics. You are correct, there is a starting position for the plate when you have a no start issue, but a better way to adjust this screw is by measuring Duty Cycle or by using an exhaust gas analyzer. I will be uploading a video about adjustment using the Duty Cycle method. The current situation is a no spark issue.
