Jimmy knew he lost his brother forever when his father kicked him out. The father was very old school and having alot money got to Chucho. Dignity is a joke to those who obtain blood money, blood money is a joke to those who value dignity.
The father kicking Chucho out had nothing to do with money or dignity. He wanted his children to be law-abiding citizens and productive members of society. I liked Chucho because beneath the ego and facade he really was a good person but he was on a self-destructive path in life. The father loved him but had enough of him.
Ninja Buddha the father Jose wanted to bring up his son better chucho was going down hill from there he definitely didn’t raise them like that it’s sad chucho thought he was going somewhere in that kind of life.
@@xyPERSONwhat I didn’t realize until today is that when Jose kicked out Chucho, maybe moments later the barn owl made itself be known to him. And it was bothering him, but the gunshot sound confirmed what he was feeling. It’s an ugly feeling when Death is near someone living a destructive life that is very close to you. Jose really wanted to see his boy alive one last time.
Chucho was only defending himself. But he threw the first punch. It was an accident that he killed him but of course this was the 50s and lots of racism.
Funny how you bring up racism when in this scene has nothing but Latinos. That’s how ignorant people like you are. Racism existed then and still exist today.
@@Rockinruffhouser I think he means that no court would have aqcuitted him of murder in the 50s even though it was self defense because of his last name and color. Think realistically about how those times were.
This almost described my childhood, I had my two cousin Fernando and Gilbert. I looked up to them so much, they were my vatos as a kid! And they still are
i miss movies like this..shows how are race and what meanings it has and how proud it is to be mexican or chicano. what our ancestors went through. I wish they made movies like this.
how come that grate song are you really being sincere didn't make it to CD's or got recorded.... I'm so in love with that song for almost a year... I want to download it... 😥😥
***** XD like you said she deserves a REAL man not some meat head giving his email online to random people he thinks are attractive. Im sure shes not the first you tell that stuff to.
True. Buy these two guys, Esai and Michael, had at this point established themselves as bonafide skilled actors and also were star power which was an attraction for moviegoers. As with Jennifer Lopez, though she was in the early years of film. I think they both did a fine job. And NOW there may be more Chicanos to take these roles. Unfortunately it seems like the era of these type of barrio/hood movies has passed. But we never know either.
chucho reminds me of so many ungrateful sons and daughters who dont appreciate their parents struggle and hard work !!! thats fucked up what he said to his dad
To this day I’m still sad we couldn’t get more scenes of Chucho and his girl. They looked like a bomb couple 😭😭😭
They should've made the whole movie from that era.
Agree
yup. after chuchos death she went to echo park and became mousey
@@CarlosSanchez-ce9gq and that’s when she got with Ernesto 😂
The sad part about Chucho was he said he didn't want to be mexican, and yet, of all his brothers and sisters, he was actually born in Mexico.
I wish dances like those still existed, I love that type of music

It's old school to not want your son to be a criminal drug dealer? Ok.
@@crazymuthaphukr hey, how many males these days actually father their kids? So yes, it’s old school.

6:15 Two Puerto Rican Actors playing stereotypical Mexicans Vato locos.. Very Sad.. They couldn't have found 2 more Chicano Actors?
