On one of my other vehicles water was getting there. On this one I had to change it only once. It lasted a few years then I sold it.

Just my opinion but, using a screwdriver to pry out the entire socket assembly against the paint is not going to leave a nice result on the cars finish.......
I would put tape over the paintwork to pry out the socket but, looks like the bulb can be replaced without pulling the entire socket??????

Thank you for your comment, totally agree with you. Socket doesn't have to come out to change the bulb. But on the other hand I think one possible paint mark on a 15 year old vehicle is most likely least of the problem for the owner.
