My 21 crf450rx has been the most fun I’ve had on 2 wheels in my 23 years of riding. Great fast flowing woods weapon. You’re gonna sweat and be sore if you’re in the tight stuff and you’re gonna be using the clutch if you don’t want to stall. But I didn’t buy a 450 to ride slow. My next bike will be the kx450x because I’ve never had a green machine in my garage, and it would look great next to the rx
I ride my '22 450RX in tight stuff and woods and love it! It's a handful but it's supposed to be. It's a good workout and a beast but I'm a big dude. Cheers
Don't know how big you are but I'm 6'4 200lbs I ride my '21 450rx in tight woods run harescrambles here in Al.and always finish in the top 5 yes it is a beast but fun we do alot of hill climbing also..

I thought the same thing… but the gearing is done really well… 1st gear is longer and actually useful… I have a 2024 250Rx and once you’re used to it a 6 speed just feels wrong
Not a word about the transmissions? MX transmissions! Cmon? Please discuss that glaring issue for these being "offroad" bikes. And which one flamed out the worst and overheated? I really miss DBT written reviews instead of these videos. (even though the typos were atrocious)
Any taller heavier riders here ? I’m 6,1 250lbs sold my 21 yzf 450 inwas to cramped was thinking a new 23 kx or crf or yzf need there all great for taller peeps
I'm 6'2" and ride a 22 Kawi 450X. Love it. The pegs and bars are adjustable etc. Only change i made was a spring change for my weight and a set of Pro Taper ACF CR high bend bars with a 13mm riser.
I'm 6'4 200lbs race my 450rx in harescrambles here in Alabama place in the top 5 nearly every race..three quarter riser on the bars and moved them forward and seat concepts tall seat
We have a 2023 450 Off-Road Shootout coming very soon (already finished day one of testing) and have riders of 6'0, 6'1, and even 6'6 in the test. Our tallest rider felt very impressed with the KX's ergonomics and ability to lower pegs/move handlebars
@@DirtBikeTest I was legit just gonna say I’m getting a kx I cbf spending 13k on a new one again when I lose 1k soon as I walk out the door lol I’m no pro jist wanna have good times feel good I’ll get the 22 kx ! Save even more ! In aus I’ve found some for $7200 -7600
I’m 6 4 and ride a 85 xr600r and it’s absolutely perfect. My brothers bike is a yz250 2t and the xr600r does better in super tight trail’s because it’s a tractor lol
This is regurgitated rubbish! Do you ride your 2 stroke 300 high in the revs in tight single? No. Do i tractor up and over everything on my 450 yes. Did i crash my 300 more than the 450? Yes.
I had a 450rx and it was a motocross bike with a small rear wheel. Loved to flame out and was an absolute joke in the woods. The only time it was good is if I was trying to kill myself on it and it flipping ripped. Might as well just buy a 450r and put a kickstand on it. Such a damn joke where the “off-road” category has ended up.
Why are you comparing a tricked out suspension on the Kawi against the bone stock Honda?! Nothing you spoke to outside of power delivery/smoothness is of any value since that Kawi has a well tuned aftermarket suspension setup.
We will be doing that as well. But each bike still has a general character and it was very apparent when riding them back to back despite one having a couple tweaks
Two minutes of great information, packed into eight minutes.

THE KX IS A GOOD BIKE, BUT ITS NO HONDA.JUST DON'T PLAN ON KEEPIMG LONGER THAN A YEAR
@@rickbartocetti847 why, what's wrong with the kx?

Tbh all u need to do is re gear it n call it a day
as well as a skid plate n pipe guard
Don't forget the kickstand made out of conduit.....
You read my mind.👍 Answered the question I had not even asked yet.
Looks like a badass riding area, reminds me of around Lake Isabella near Bakersfield
Thank you Trevor. Looking at the specs, I'm liking the Kawasaki just for the fact the egos have a bit more adjustment out of the box.
They need a 6 speed transmission if they would make the CRF250RX a 6 speed I would buy it today.

Great video good info here and I do agree with most of your feedback.
Fuel range ?
Do a review on the two stroke that's making all the background noise. Haha. Two strokes rock!

Depends what type of woods riding you mean. Any 450 is totally ridiculous for tight woods riding.

A 250 is the correct answer.
What's that skid plate on the KX?
Acerbis
YZ 250T for me
Best woods bike would be a 2T 300
I didn't see any woods riding in this review. The basic answer to the question would be neither I think.
Yz450fx if you gonna go japanese. Hands down. Although I just don't see the need for anything more than the 250 unless your racing desert.
I like the 450x

Yeah, the cross country sector has gotten really aggressive. Honda has the 450X (not RX) which is a lot more tame, but weighs 20 lbs more.

Should have added the Yamaha to the test
We didn't have one at the time, but we had a stock 450 off-road shootout and are conducting a modified 450 off-road shootout this month.
@@DirtBikeTest awesome I cant wait to see that
The kx450f 2019 and on are the easiest bike I ever rode
How about we do a comparison video when one bike isn't modified more than the other. How is that even a comparison??? Durrr

Wrong tool for the job
Neither because they aren’t 2 strokes. There summed it up for you
