Fun fact: Michael Giacchino composed more movies that grossed $1 billion than any other composer. He composed 8 movies that grossed $1 billion: Jurassic Park 4 (2015), Zootopia (2016), Rogue One (2016), Jurassic Park 5 (2018), The Incredibles 2 (2018), Spider-Man Far from Home (2019), Spider-Man No Way Home (2021) and Jurassic Park 6 (2022)
michael had no reason to go this hard on a animated kids movie about superheroes, but instead we got one of the best animated movie soundtracks of all time
Man, if the next Fantastic Four Movie (since it will take place in the 60s) doesn't bring Michael Giacchino or if they don't use this score and movie as inspiration they're definitely missing a huge opportunity.
Man I love this old jazz type music, I loved both the movie and the soundtrack, just watched both of them this week after the countless memes (special reference to uncanny and canny memes) I saw online. This movie is fantastic. Thank you.
This score doesn't have a tuba solo part, but we can hear Tommy Johnson (Jaws, Beetlejuice, Toy Story, Titanic, Star Trek...) in the time 2:10 rehearsing. Wonderful musician.

listening to him talk about recording this "The Old Fashioned Way" is kinda funny to me as a modern day electronic producer, because that's the same way I'd record an orchestra anyways. all together as a unit with each section mic'd individually. it's also funny that he says when big band orchestra stuff had been recorded in that era for films there was always techno and electronic elements added in and the very next year he did exactly that for Space Mountain

Fantastic, Michael had the right idea, that 60s sound is perfect. Thank you for the video.
One of the best soundtracks ever written!

I know this video is 6 years old, but by God, I love the soundtrack of The Incredibles so much! I think it's the best soundtrack ever. EVER.
7 next month
I don't understand what the problem is with the video being 6 or 7 years old.
Give this guy a Bond movie to compose already! I mean the vibe here is already Bondian.
I think how they did the Incredibles soundtrack is exactly how they used to do the old bond songs.
he did Mission Impossible, so close enough lol
He did compose for Cars 2 in 2011, the Score had the 007 spy style, especially with Finn McMissle’s motifs
