      @@naveenthemachine why not lol? 100K vehicles used to be in the stratosphere, not any more! 100K vehicles are at the very bottom of luxury vehicles now. Heck domestic full-size trucks are now 100K! What's wrong with expecting reliability with your 100K purchase?!!! I guess Lexus doesn't build reliable luxury suv's This almost sounds like a BMW paid advertisement or maybe just biased. I'm on my 3rd Lexus RX. 1st one had 195,000 the second one had 294,000 and no mechanical issues, traded for newer body style. So there is my two cents, take it or leave it

      If you're worried about reliability, shouldn't be shopping for a luxury car imo. If you're worried about reliability and depreciation, chances are you're a rational and pragmatic car buyer and luxury SUVs like these aren't meant to be rational choices. They're meant to be aspirational things you buy to show off to your friends and symbolize you accomplished something. And no offense, idk if a gussied-up Toyota Grand Highlander in the Lexus TX or a gussied up Pilot in the MDX makes me feel accomplished, I'd feel ripped off if anything.

      @@KNRS927 You are wrong, reliability is definitely a part of the whole luxury experience. Imagine a person with a lot of money, meaning he has no spare time and his car to have issues.

    • @KNRS927
      @KNRS927 Місяць тому

      @@MilesAnastasios87 if you have a lot of money, then it very likely means you’ll be leasing your cars so that means you’ll be out of your car after 3 years and into the next one. That’s why luxury automakers like BMW and Mercedes and Audi are considered popular lease vehicles, because people lease them and move onto the next. That’s also probably why they lose value so fast because people aren’t holding onto them for so long. That comes with being a luxury car. And if it doesn’t follow that, it likely isn’t a true luxury car. I don’t consider an RX or MdX a true luxury car, for example.
      Also, another thing that makes a luxury car a luxury car is that it’s built from the ground up to be a luxury car. When I get in a Cayenne, it feels special and makes me feel like I accomplished something and there’s a reason many folks have that as a dream car. I don’t want to be reminded of the mainstream cookie cutter Toyota that’s underneath my car the way I would be an Lexus RX that’s just a gussied up Highlander and little else to it. Same with an MDX being a gussied up Pilot with little else. I don’t want to be reminded of a mainstream car underneath it, I want my luxury suv to share nothing with a mainstream model. And often times, that leads to more tech and power and thus, reliability issues.
      Also, if you’re worried about your cars lasting a long time, being reliable, and not having deep pockets, you really shouldn’t be going for a luxury car. That’s just my take.

    The Q7 would be the #1 3-row midsize luxury SUV if it had a functional 3rd row, unfortunately it doesn’t, I would’ve given the Acura MDX the spot personally (MDX is #2 right behind the Q7 but unlike the Q7 it has a functional 3rd row)

    • @KNRS927
      @KNRS927 Місяць тому

      I actually agree with Q7 at 1. Let's be real, none of the third rows in a midsize luxury SUV, or even midsize SUV in general, are functional and can actually fit normal-sized people. They're just there to be there, Maybe you use them in a rare emergency but otherwise, they're likely to be down most of the time. Q7 has the placeholder third row on top of being a really nice, fantastic SUV so I agree with that. If you really want a car with 3 rows and intend to use the third row, get a minivan or a truck-based SUV if you really can't stand a minivan. My take.

    • @CarGeek360
      @CarGeek360 Місяць тому

      @@KNRS927 Q7 is barely better than the MDX and the only reason I even rank it slightly higher is because the engine is torquier and the Audi has better tech, they drive similar (unless you get air suspension on the Audi, then the Audi will drive slightly better, but they both drive really nicely) and the Audi isn’t any nicer on the interior, also the MDX has a much larger 3rd row than the Q7, the Q7 3rd row is unusable while the MDX 3rd row can be useful 70-80% of the time, the Q7 also has tiny center console storage and horribly located cup holders, if you read Edmund’s comparison of both, you will notice that they claim the Q7 beats out the MDX BY A FRACTION OF A POINT (which I def agree with) but honestly knowing the Q7 has a dysfunctional 3rd row I’d much rather get a Q8 or X5

      @KNRS927 2 місяці тому +1

      @@itspronouncedjelloto be fair, Japanese and American luxury car models are naturally at a disadvantage because they build their luxury cars using mainstream platforms. Lexus has no car outside its flagships that’s built on an exclusive platform. Meanwhile, Genesis cars (outside the GV60) share nothing with their Hyundai counterparts. That’s probably why the list is European dominated with one Genesis, they’re purpose built luxury cars from the ground up.
