Hey Eric, I’m the guy who handed you the Buckshot Jones car over the fence at 1:51. Thx so much for signing it, and it was so awesome meeting you at Pocono and I’m so glad you were able to swing by for what was for sure a wild weekend!!
That’s awesome
Pocono is underrated , one of my home tracks and I love it. I live directly in between the Glen and pocono.
i live between dover and pocono
I live directly between Pocono and Dover. I drove four laps around Pocono Raceway, back in April. It was quite the experience!!
Glad you enjoyed your first northeast NASCAR experience! Great to meet up once again as well! 😄
Northeast??
I went to Pocono way back in June of 1998, the Miller Lite 400. It was my first ever time going to a NASCAR race and I loved it! I've been a huge NASCAR fan ever since. I camped in an RV with a bunch family and friends in the infield for the whole weekend. Sadly, I have not been back since. The facility and the infield have come a long way since then. They look way more developed and improved then they were 24 years ago, not surprisingly. We watched most of the action from atop the RV listening to the radio race call over headsets. From that vantage point we could see most of the track. At one point we got down and walked out to the chain link fence that surrounded the camping area along the inside of the track and watched a few laps of the cars sailing by. It was awesome! Great to see the facility is looking so good these days! Thanks for making and posting this video!
Glad you finally made it to Pocono. After 40 plus races at the track I'm glad you got a better perspective. Should have been there in the 90's it was a far different crowd then it is now. I might be biased because I'm a local but all the bad publicity the track gets is really not warranted what Doc and Rose Mattioli created is unique and the family has continued to improve the track year after year. Eric glad you got to experience Pocono first hand.
Living in the Pocono Mountains for over 20 years, my family, and now myself have found ways around the traffic exiting the track. As I'm guessing a lot of other tracks have their own traffic shortcuts too. But yes, i 100% agree with Eric about the traffic being terrible, Especially on 115
Yeah, I can agree about the traffic situation.
Pocono is home for me and made my first trip out there last year and loved the experience and just gotta love how Pocono is continuing to get better in my opinion racing wise
Yeah same I live about 30 to 45 mins away from the track. Never Been there tho but definitely getting tickets for next year
Thanks for a great video on our home track! It was so awesome to meet you! Thanks again for the Out of the Groove hat. Our son is wearing it everyday! He wore it while talking with the drivers before Driver Introductions. What an amazing day!
Eric this is absolutely phenomenal content! Like I am really there. Thank you.
imagine being at the race and finding out that the car you just watch do burnouts was not the winner……..
That’s why they used to let the driver keep the win on the stat sheet and just penalized them points or take away their lock to the playoffs like Logano 2017 spring Richmond
Bro I was soooo excited to see my man Dennys win and then grabbed a pillow and screamed when I found out he got disqualified😭😭😭
That was me. Watched Denny do his burnout, got home and pulled up Instagram to find out the news.
@@crazybut6641 fans wanted wins to be taken away and they got it.
😳😳😳😳😳
I have watched a lot of your videos - THIS IS THE BEST ONE BY A "COUNTRY MILE"! LOL!! Love the walk around the vendor booths and seeing more than just the cars and the filming FROM BEHIND the pits is an angle the major sports broadcasts are sorely missing. Really enjoyed this. I work from home sending e-mails for the family printing business, so far 119, 516 individual e-mails have been sent to prospective customers since I started working for the family business about 10 years ago. Well done videos like this one make it a LOT easier to keep me IN the home office and those e-mails going out! Thanks. Keep up this kind of footage every so often! BFORDFANGardner
Im from Maine and this was my first ever NASCAR race. I was sitting on the exit of 3 and watched Blaney crash right in front of me. Super cool, but glad hes ok. Unfortunately i didnt see the burnout because I wanted to get back to my hotel right after the race so I wasnt in the traffic cluster. It took about an hr just to get into where my parking was, and probably 45 min in line to get thru security. ( I did go a little later than I should have but next time Ill be in early.) Overall good experience and loved the energy from the crowd. Def would go again
Yeah traffic getting to the track is always a pain at Pocono. That's why my group tries to show up right when gates open so we have close parking and no waiting in traffic. On Sunday we were actually waiting at the gates like 20 minutes before they came to open them
I went to Kansas in September and had nothing like that exiting and that was after the burnout and everything
I'm glad you made it up to Pocono Eric! Ended up being a great (albeit super hot) weekend of racing. It was also a pleasure to meet you! Made my tattoo internet famous :D
I love these race weekend vlogs. It's a perfect treat for the dedicated nascar fan who never gets the chance to see a race in person let alone get next to the drivers and cars in the garages and pit road. Thanks man, fortunately I have been able to walk around the garage area at my track Daytona in 2000 or 2001 for the Goody's Dash series race. A friends family friend actually co owned a car that Andy Lally was driving so we got all the best access. I believe he rolled the car in turns 3-4 and talked to him right after he left the medical center. He let me sit inside the car and actually tore off a piece of his car by the headlight and signed it for me. Ever since then when I was 12-13 years old I have always rooted for Andy Lally in everything he does
Helll of a show EE. Possibly best yet. The editing and content awesome. Next stop will be big networks courting you. At your young age, talent and industry knowledge you are on fast track .
That Dale Sr. train set is a Hawthorne Village set from 2007. I believe what you saw in that tent was the full set. I wish I could have gotten my hands on it.
Eric you have grown ur channel into something real special
My home track!!! Literally grew up here and raced quarter midgets next door. I went back for the first time in years for the double header weekend last year and it was incredible. So many improvements and upgrades. They didn’t have half of the stuff they have today when I was a kid, we basically rode our bikes around the infield and made our own fun. So glad you made it out there!
Excellent video Eric! You really showed all of Pocono. I am a Pennsylvania resident and Pocono is one of my favorite tracks to watch NASCAR but I’ve never been to the track (I don’t only ever been to Dover to watch the race in person and that was pretty awesome). This video did a nice job of showing everything there like a great tour. Keep up the great videos. You are my favorite NASCAR UA-cam channel👍🏻👍🏻💯💯💯😎
This video definitely makes me want to see NASCAR on my home track in person next year. Eric you should've seen the foreshadowing with the COT car with the number slid forward. The number 9 was in front of Denny's haha.
Loved it! It’s great to see behind the scenes at the race tracks especially for a fan like me who has never been to a NASCAR race and will most likely never have a chance to go to one.
That Ken Schrader 2001 - 2002 M&M's Pontiac Grand Prix for MB2 Motorsports looks beautiful!😍
LOVED LOVED LOVED and appreciated this video! I have always loved the atmosphere at Pocono, enough to forego the ability to see the whole track.
As a short person, at most tracks I appreciate being all the way at the top against the fence where I can stand the whole time without being in anybody’s way. I can’t even imagine the vantage point that someone as tall as you would get while standing on the seats in the same spot! LOL
Have you ever visited Dover? Please bring your tent to visit Miles- we would love to see you!
Thanks for the video, Eric! I have a new appreciation for Pocono now that I’ve seen a different perspective of it from the fan zone.
Spend the time snd dough and make the next step and be at all the big races at the very least.
You are on your way. Dont let up.
Please do more of these types of videos. The behind the scenes is awesome
Agreed!!
Sheetz is absolutely "fair game" there are no wawas west of Montgomery County. Wawa basically is a New Jersey thing
Sheetz > wawa
I live in Columbia Pennsylvania, which is in Lancaster county and there is a Wawa in East Petersburg which is like 15 minutes from where I live. Totally agree about the New Jersey thing because the first time I ever saw a Wawa when I was in Ocean City New Jersey.
Your at track experience videos are your best work! I was really surprised to see there was no watermelon on display in front of Chastain's hauler. Hopefully, you can make to it to more tracks to vlog the experience such as Michigan etc..
Great Job Eric!! But after going to a couple indy car races i enjoy watching them on TV you get to see more of the race, plus i do not have a 2 day hangover!!
Tyler Reddick won 2022 Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Cole Pepper show race highlights during the Sports segment on News4Jax on WJXT.
Man I’m glad the vlog is longer like in the past, keep it up
At 7:47 I was the kid with the bright yellow Kyle Busch shirt on. Was hoping to score his autograph but didn’t. Still cool I made it in your video though!
The campsite at 25:55 was mine lol. I was the one in the car. I can't believe i didn't see you filming lol. Would've made my day getting to say hi to ya
That Ty gibs interview had me rolling
I like the Pocono race. I certainly enjoy it more than some of the 1.5 mile tracks.
I really wish indy car could still race there
Me too. I wish Indy Car would come back.
Sheetz for fried food, Wawa for sandwiches and soups. We have both here in the Poconos.
Period!!
pocono looks really chill , love the longer vlogs too !
I have been to the Las Vegas track here and it created the same rather overwhelming emotion as your footage of the Xfinity cars screaming down the front straight, an angle and sound that the TV broadcasts, sadly rarely show. Don't know why I get chills and a little teary eyed actually. I think it is a reaction to the sheer speed the cars are traveling and the sound and the colors of all the different cars. Thanks for the footage. And how awesome for you to have your own booth at this race - well done and enjoy! B-FORDFAN-Gardner
Firstly, Thank you for visiting the Pocono Mountains and Pocono Raceway Eric! I might missed you 😭 But maybe God willing I might get another chance to meet you someday. Pocono Raceway is my home track and I live 40 minutes away from the track. I hope you do return next year hopefully! I love Out of the Groove show and podcasts as well!!!!
💯Eric’s channel 🔥🔥🔥👌🏼
I was right near you during the Xfinity race. Lol I hope you enjoyed the Pocono weekend. I have been going there since 2001 and it is underrated big time.
Definitely a pleasure meeting you and talking to you on the grid. Great video 👍
Glad you got the chance to go to Pocono Eric!!!
Just attended my first NASCAR race at Indy (Xfinity) with my wife. We loved it!
The concourse looked great. Went to the non-playoffs Kansas race in 2018 and there was so little to do there. More races need to have more to do out there for fans.
Sheetz pwns Wawa. Enough said.
On a side note, why no close ups of the #36 M&M's car in the video?? I saw it in the thumbnail, but only saw it in the background @ 21:41. :(
Wait a minute. 21:16 . A Denny's car. A number 9. Oh my gosh!
32:45
They're not in a room, so the streak continues
31:40 legendary eric voice crack
Ok this video just launched Pocono on my go to tracks list
Was really awesome to finally meet you Eric, I was with BlueJimmie48Fan when we met up with you outside the merch trailers and you were very nice and chill to meet and talk to. I have to say honestly your overall review of Pocono Raceway at the end couldn’t have been more well said like yes it’s very friendly to their fans but being it is rural the service, traffic, and of course not seeing everything wherever you were is an issue but as a person who has gone to that track and lives an hour away as well and hearing an expert analysis from a first time visitor but knows the sport extremely well, I fully accept your pros and cons about Pocono. I cannot wait to see where your next race trip vlog goes Eric and enjoy the rest of this hectic 2022 Nascar season!
A number 9 car with a Denny's as a sponsor? Give that person a raise for that beautiful idea 🤣🤣🤣
To clarify your question Eric, Wawa is very big in the Mid-Atlantic area but this specific area of Pennsylvania it’s more common to find a Sheetz. Wawa is more prominent in other parts of PA, New Jersey and Delaware although they are expanding south
Yeah Sheetz is in the western 2/3 of PA, plus western MD, and North Carolina
Yeah, even though there is a Wawa about 5 miles north of the track in Blakeslee on 940 and 115, Sheetz is rapidly expanding in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre, Pocono and Lehigh regions. And Wawa is confirmed to be heading to North Carolina, though they have yet to announce plans for South Carolina and Georgia. That seems likely to happen, though, as Wawa wants to connect the dots and head for the other Southern states leading to Florida, where they already have a expanding footprint. They are confirmed to also be heading for Alabama and Tennessee, as well.
@@TrailsVonMudder Don't forget Virginia-West Virginia, as well as Ohio. They just recently entered Columbus, Ohio last year, and will be expanding to Dayton and Cincinnati in the next five years.
@@danielfoster3642 I currently work for Wawa, southern expansion is no secret, they have changed the business model massively compared to even ten years ago to accommodate major expansion.
Been a few times to Pocono, really cool family owned track. So huge, really need to sit high to see the bulk of the track. Very remote, bad traffic. With one race for sure it would be packed. But really cool. I was there in2017 and 18 and it did not look like that! Some of the 3rd party vendors were under the grand stands and not nearly as much as you had. Lived in PA for a bit and Wawa was more in the eastern part of the state with Sheetz more central but opening locations in the East. Kinda the same types of places.
Looks like they have some of the old M&M's cars driven by Ken Schrader and Elliott Sadler.
damn it eric. aint you watched enough spongebob to know its a boulder! LOL ;)
I saw your tent at Charlotte this year and I was kind of shocked because I had never heard of you having a tent at a track. Got a whole backpack with a bunch of random stuff lol.
Eric there are also tents outside the track, they usually are third party sellers that list their stuff at good prices. I got a Byron homestead win and a denny Hamlin 2020 Daytona win for around $100
Love the content Eric, looks like you always have a great time! Would love to see you out at a Kansas race sometime!
That “Busch Light RaceCar Concession Stand” is set up at Talladega somewhere every race. Idk if its the same one but it looks the same if not
36:00 from my seats I saw all the cars very good around the track. Idk where you sat though so that might have made a difference
Sheetz are great ! Go there and buy Mallo Cups because they're the best candy ever made.
I agree. Mallo Cups are so good! Fun fact: They both originate in the same city.
Love there was some dude named Billy rockin a Ghost shirt.
It was nice meeting you on pit road prior to the Camping World Truck Series race! I appreciate your time.
I was at the cup race this weekend.
Same
This Xfinity race was amazing
I was at the roval race last year and saw your tent. I was hoping you might have a suprise appearance but you didnt. I went up and was given and out of the groove bag, ill be at the roval again this year
I saw BlueJimmie48Fan’s Vlog with you in it and absolutely loved it! Any NASCAR UA-camr I follow that posts these Race Weekend Vlogs is always some killer content to watch! I’ll be at MIS next weekend and yes that will be a Race Weekend Vlog of my own on my channel so I hope you’ll be there too so I can actually meet you and possibly do a UA-cam Collaboration with you and other fellow NASCAR UA-camrs that may be there!
Everyone in our shop hope you go to North Wilkesboro! We need to get you some pit shirts!
5/20$ diecast made me sweat profusely.
I would be broke in that tent. 🤣
Good video, great editing.
I've been working and going to Pocono since 99'...❤
On the point of nothing being relatively close you're right I live near the track and literally everything is atleast 20 minutes away
Wawa all the way! I would love to see them get involved with Nascar.
I'd love to see a Wawa car in NASCAR.
What did Lajoi say to you? "Coming for you Estepp?" 🤣🤣🤣
5:40 *Rock eyebrow meme*
It’s was a great race even better to see it in person
Amazing vlog! I like the part where you show the merchandise!
Im so glad i met you in the paddock and somehow made it in Your video in the autograph alley part, i saw my DeWalt Cap💀💀
Hey Eric, I saw you around a few times, but was showing my friend around for his first race. Sorry I couldn’t say hi. I was wearing a Wendy’s Gragson #62 shirt.
How was the weather up North? Pocono's fairly high in the mountains, does the elevation make the heat a bit more tolerable?
Although Pocono's not a priority track for me, I value good temperature a lot and the Summer months can be rough
It was about 86 degrees
@@radiomandemmer5974 Not too bad for the middle of July, how about the breeze?
@@Landmasters it was great and there was very little humidity because it on top of a mountain
It was the hottest day ever recorded for the day in the valley and city's around the area. The grandstands were very warm& sunny all day.
It’s usually very hot and humid but it rains a lot in the summer and the weather can be unpredictable so there’s usually a mix of clouds, sun, and storms every year
Zero gravity has always been my favorite ride!
I wish you could have had your setup in the main fan zone instead of inside the track. Would've loved to have been able to meet you and some of the Groovy Gang
To bad I missed u while u were in fan zone I go with my whole family couldn’t afford everyone to have pit passes this year hope u return next year
Looked Like Fun Out There! I Have That Buckshot Jones Diecast
Wawa is bigger over here but I enjoy sheetz more. Quite controversial.
So you're from the Philly area?
@@danielfoster3642Nah I’m from the Lehigh valley so up north from Philly.
34:46 as a Hamlin fan was at this race that’s my wallpaper
Pocono be like what the fuck is turn 4😂😂
I do love that corner.
Are you going to Watkins Glen this year?
I was legit looking everywhere for you lmao, then I was told your in the infield
I was there at the cup race, saw most of the crashes, highly recommended race
Surprised you got a little bit of the Jeb Burton flip
I’m so upset that I didn’t know you were there I would of definitely try to meet up with you to take a pic
Great video thanks
Eric did you get the up and over clip down the back stretch
Sheetz is a Western PA favorite and Wawa is better known in Eastern PA.
Gotta love that Denny's 9 😂
I love the sheetzs car
Me too. A 2nd place finish is what we got.
This is a really cool video
So glad you enjoyed your visit to Pocono. I don't think I've seen a crowded Pocono Raceway for a NASCAR race since at least 2011. And, yeah, Denny Hamlin getting DQed after doing the post race victory burnout and interview was a bummer. I feel so bad for his daughter. Also happy that Tyler Reddick got a 2nd place finish after those DQs in a car sponsored by Sheetz. I like both Sheetz and Wawa, but I live in Sheetz territory, so Sheetz is my game.
That probably has a lot to do with how much the ticket prices went up in 2012.
Depending on section, as much as 50% higher than the previous year.
@@mpf1947 I agree.
Great meeting you Eric!
