Been using the crappie magnet for several years now, I always keep Mermaid, salt and pepper, black and chartreuse, red and chartreuse, and a few others when they get picky on Bobby Garlands I switch to crappie magnet and back and forth. Loving the crappie videos, thanks again.

Man I came across your channel a few weeks ago and have enjoyed all the videos you have put up. I live up in North West Ga and mainly bass fish but after watching all these crappie videos i had to go catch a mess of them at Chickamauga today. I’m subscribed to a lot of fishing channels but I’ll have to say this one is my favorite I look forward to more videos.

Hey Brandon, I have used Crappie Magnet for some time now and love them. I have found that the split tail works best under a slip float with the nibble pushed to split the tail apart, The shad bait works best for me when I am tight lining. Love the crappie shows you are doing. Go get em

@@BrandonLesterFishing Hey Brandon, love seeing you fish Tims Ford. I am from central KY and fished Tims in the 80's and early 90's. Boy how the lake has changed with all the docks. Winchester Springs was our go to creek in the spring for topwater bass. Great memories
I tend to use Powerbait Crappie nibbles but to keep more in my jar and catch more fish using the same piece, simply pour out the entire jar onto an aluminum pie pan and either place outside to air dry or I prefer placing on top of my refrigerator since it puts off heat above. When they are hard to the touch (not bricks) then you'll have a nibble that'll stay on hook longer and thus catch more fish and keep you out the store purchasing more as often.

Been a live bait fisherman my entire life. This past year I've forced myself to learn artificial - these crappie magnets have become a go to for me and I have total confidence in their performance! Best of lucj has always been on the more natural colors

Those black crappie would love that Mermaid color. Thats my go to color on a couple lakes. Therapist and Shonuff chartreuse are next. Just found some of the Tiny dancers and fin spins. Can't wait to try them out.
Time Ford super clear water and deep. I have only fished once but loved it. I could see a crappie flash 25 feet down when it hit my minnow

Slab Bites work great , use them all the time
scale'em clean'em roll'em in corn meal with salt and pepper, drop'em in the oil until the float and take'em out. The crispy dorsal fin and tail are excellent too.
That Mermaid is a favorite for black crappie. Crappie Magnet is my go to crappie lure.
Loved your video, so lucky to be able to fish 12 months out of the year , up north we’re I am from , lucky to have 6-8 month of fishing just a fyi , I don’t know how old this video was , but just a heads up , when you use the crappie nibbles, and crappie magnet. Put the nibbles, between were the tail spits , stay on longer and put a little super glue on the hook then put on the crappie magnet. FYI.
My buddy turn me on to those and I was surprised they catch crappie for sure. He made me a believer for sure. Black and chartreuse is the color we use. And there cheap tightlines pal 🎣💯
Also I use the powerbait brand nibbles. When the bite is kinda slow it most definitely help. What you can do to make them last a little longer, on a sunny day put a few out on
Piece of paper and let it dry out for a while and once it does it’ll stay on your hook much longer

We have used them many times on a drop shot rig. Just downsize your hook to a #4 circle or #6 aberdeen and the crappie magnets work great. Especially once you find that sweet spot depth this puts it right in the zone every time. Surprisingly we also caught perch, bream and bass with this method/bait.
Crappie bites are great for scent!
I do alot of trolling here in south GA. I definitely get more bites on rough days when i tip my jigs with the slab bite or the Berkeley version

Grate video! I use Crappie Magnets and they are slab catchers. Double rigged, single or under a bobber, I use whatever color the situation calls for , but my go-to colors are Black/Chartreuse, White/Chartreuse and Pumpkin Brown/Chartreuse. 👍🏽👍🏽
White and chartreuse is the number one color that loads the cooler with crappie. Black and chartreuse is good also. Crappie magnet probably the best crappie bait on the market

In he Indian Lake area in Ohio use people use micro jigs for crappie.

Love the crappie videos. I agree with a previous comment on puss in the nibble down into the split tail to enhance the action and profile of the magnet. Shonuff and mermaid are my go to colors on my home lake. Sore lip 'em all !

I have used Crappie Magnets for about five years and they are my go to along with a Renosky Keystone minnow which is a tiny presentation but they seem to like it vertically jigged in a tough bite situation.

Black and chartreuse crappie magnet are a must have, here fishing in south Louisiana Atchafalaya Basin..
I tip my waxworm with a crappie nibblet for bluegill fishing and it definitely helps. I haven’t tried them for crappie yet. I usually use minnows for crappie.
"Shonuff" is the best color for crappie magnet to me...thats all me and my brother been throwing at Guntersville as well.

Nice! Enjoy your videos. I use and like bites/nibbles. If the fish are hammering bait they’ll hit about anything so not super important but when it gets little tougher seems to make a difference.

They are really a great jig to catch crappie I will go as far to say the jig is one of the best there is for this particular fishing

Nice video bro! I’ve been using crappie Magnets since the early 2000’s when I first got my first boat. I’ve caught a ton of slabs on them!!! Black and chartreuse is by far my favorite color. Add that with a red 1/32 oz jig head with a white eye and look out!!! Trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Been using crappie magnet for years my go-to bait use under a slip float take that slab bite slide it down the hook to it splits the tail open it's killer
My favorite ones are the Slab magnet by crappie magnet in mermaid. I've caught tons of fish on those.

He really is a good guy when you get to know him. He actually makes lures also, I'm going to try to get ahold of him and see if he's still doing it in retirement.

I just started using the Crappie Magnet about 18 months ago. Killer Klatt has been outstanding for me. So much so that even though I bought a lot of different colors I’ve just kinda stuck to the Killer K.
My 2 favorite colors in crappie nuggets are chartreuse gold flake an the white silver flake
Been catching alot on tree tops at Tim's they have been biting pretty good.
I like the yellow 1/16th jig heads with either white or yellow crappie magnet bodies.
Just started using Crappie Magnet. Works great. I tip mine with a green garlic fireball. Ive tried other things and they are never as productive
Use nibbles or slab magnets on all jigs when fishing for crappie. They also work great for bluegill and redear instead of worms
nothing like catching crappie on a jig .we did some work on a lake house on tims ford we were across from jollys rock. took the boat out once its a deep lake. i notice you catch a lot of black nose crappie. they are rare in my lake cant watch you fish anymore today your killin me lol
When those Black Crappie get finicky cut the front two ribs off to make it a shorter profile or go to a trout magnet add a split shot for casting. Sore lip’em all

Hey bud. New to your channel. I enjoyed it! I love shooting docks like that. I use the same Crappie Slab bites in white (shad scent). I have better luck with the Powerbait Chart Glow in original. ;) I'm catching mine on brush/rock piles right now here in Alabama in roughly 11-13 fow.
Been using them for a couple years I like the tail action with no effort on your end. The company also makes jig heads with a small willow leaf blade attached to the bottom for a attention getter.

I fish with the crappie magnets and the the nibbles. I push the nibbles in between the two legs. It spreads the legs and gives more action. My area is the river. Never any clear water.
I’ve just watched a couple of your videos and I have to say I do like them. I would like to know if you ever come out to the more eastern lakes in Tn such as Norris to Crappie fish?

I use those and Bobby Garland baits. They also have a split tail bait that's great. I use scent also. I think it helps and I'm sure it doesn't hurt. Also check out Smith Brothers baits. Twin brothers in North Carolina I think. They have some good stuff.
Try their Fin Spin underspin heads as well. I've caught tons white bass and crappie with a Crappie Magnet or Keitech Easy Shiner.
Brandon, on the Crappie Bites, If you have trouble with them falling off or getting mushy, heat them up in the oven to dry them out some. They will stay on much longer but yes they do work.
What rod are you using in the video? I am having trouble finding a limber spinning rod that i like.

Sometimes you have to learn how to outsmart other fishermen, as well as the fish 😉. I’m fortunate that I get to do a lot of my crappie fishing during the week in the fall and winter when there aren’t a lot of boats on the water, but these crappie get plenty of pressure overall. Brandon u should seriously try a 1/16 acme spoon also I have been doing great on a black and pink bobby Garland or black and chartreuse. I run into people all the time on Tim's there amazed by the spoon lol

I fish black and chartreuse and pink and chartreuse crappie magnets religiously if I don't use live bait. Absolute killer plastic. I run it with a loop knot and 1/16th oz usually 1/8th on a windy day. I run split tails. As far as their jig heads I love the nickle ones fish seem to be attracted to that flash on fall.

I have never used them I always use bobby Garland. Or hair jigs that I tie myself. I will definitely have to check them out tho
It is only cold when one has to cut through 9' of ice. Cold is when you drive your 4 wheeler around the lake. The air temp has nothing on the fish as they are rarely on the surface. My complaint is the state allows crappie to be 8' and bass have to be 15'. Split the difference and make both 12" before they can go to the frying pan.
Cold is relative to where you are I guess. In TN our lakes don't freeze over normally and 40 degrees is pretty chilly. Crappie have to be 10" here also. State law. Thanks for watching!
Sometimes the crappie nibbles help, sometimes they don't. I've even had days where they hurt you for whatever reason.
What rod are you using, just curious. I am using a st.croix 6'9". Which I really like. But I also liked the action on the rod you were using.

The problem with something like those Slab Bites is you never know if you would have caught the fish you caught with them anyhow. You were catching fish before using the attractant and the change may not have made a difference. OR maybe it did.

Mostly water clarity and whether its sunny or cloudy. Clear water and bluebird skies I like to use as natural as possible. Cloudy days you can get them on brighter colors better sometimes. More times than not though, presentation is twice as important as color is. Thanks for watching!
