Yay another video. Quick tip. Either lower the intro volume on cuts and music or raise the volume on your intro narration. It's hard to understand. Loving this season so far though!
It's Smooth Gefixt Time!! Go Julius! I hope you agreed about the camera work timeouts, so that you would get equal chances while getting good content. I hope this series isn't the last time we see Dylan. You are really good duo, love the friendly banter.
good one guys. ive been waiting on my chance to watch this one. wait a week then don't get time on Friday. good things come to those who wait, as the saying goes. very true in this case. thanks
Great stuff guys! Clay would have sealed up the ends of Dylan’s bowl better than pine pitch. The water might have been a bit murky but it would have been ok to drink. But I guess you knew you were using clay in the next challenge.
Fire thongs for handling hot rocks.... instead of using two sticks of the diameter you chose, get a stick much larger and split it down the middle. Essentially give yourself two flat surfaces to grip the stones with , otherwise its like sticking your fingers of both hands into bowling balls and trying to pick up a third ball with them
Trust Me For real dude it’s weekly uploads every season you have to respect how long these take to make. They have to take longe to do everything because of filming. And I’m pretty sure Julius does all the editing himself...has to take a while man.
@@shrib-tvyt7288 Dude, was expressing myself in way of how much i enjoy and love their videos..🙄..m kinda new so dint knew the upload timings..Anyway thnx for the explanation🤝👍..Just said this cause this is not the only survival challenge channels i have sub..other 2 channels i have sub n love watching, they ll upload at least 2, ...30min or more videos in a week so..anyway got ya..👍
Great job lads 👍. I'd have knocked up some quick bushcraft tongues for picking up the hot rocks etc. Would have been a lot easier and saved water for extra 10 mins work 👍. Great job though lads especially when racing against each other . Hope the wasp sting settled soon, my dog has had some real bad experiences with wasps, he hates them now lol. Look forward to the next one 👍
Lots of fun watching these instead of sleeping! Already trying to picture how you'll both use the things you've gotten so far. Shame on that bowl, Dylan; could have worked with a lot more time, maybe!
Nothing wrong with our swags, you just need a car or horse to carry then. That was a great episode. Is that a pathfinder billy (kettle)? if so I have one and think they are awesome.
I want a entire video of which one of you can relax the most.... Y'all always so gogogogo lol I bet you can't do it. Can you trap hunt? Be curious to see which one if not both gets a small game meal.
If you had cut two cookies off of the same log that you peeled the bark off of, right at the place where you peeled the bark then they would have fit right into the ends of the bark bowl. Then you could seal the bark to the cookies with pine pitch and tied a shoelace, or a piece of cordage if allowed around the circumference of the ends to completely secure them in place. Pitch to seal any small holes or cracks in the bark and more water would make the trip from creek to fire as well. Also since you have a knife, axe and saw it would be easy to make the ends of two sticks flat which would make picking up the hot rocks easier. Better yet use two forked sticks or a forked and a flat.
Dylan would have won if would have sawed two slices off of a tree with a bigger diameter than his bark. He could have tied each end, and applied the pitch to the outside edges or just relied on a friction fit. Not sure if my explanation if good but oh well. Fun watching you two anyway. 👍✌🥃
Thought on the water basket.... instead of an origami bowl with huge clothes pins... what if you were to use two log segments of larger diameter on the ends, with a pocket knife create a groove between the wood and the bark and then fit your britches bark into the gap
Smooth Gefixt perhaps.... then again instead of trying to cap it like the end of a rain gutter use your belt or shoe laces to tie it to your log ends ... just saying that lost a lot of potential volume to your vessel with the origami bowl . Another thing to consider is you really tore it up using it both as a cook pot and as a water bucket. But hey you did win the challenge and that’s what was important here, just saying that in a real survival situation versus a race, the extra effort might yield something that might last longer than a single liter or so of water. In truth in a survival situation, if your doing a hot rock boil , your best bet is to eventually invest in a carved wooden bowl/trencher, which itself begs the question if a small wood chisel would be a good idea to include in a bush craft kit? There are just certain things that are a lot easier to do with a carving chisel using your hatchet head still in its leather sheath than using any other blade or edged device. It’s useless in a race, but then again survival is about endurance not speed
Julius, you really stepped up the UA-cam editing game here! I am curious, how long did it take total to make your bark container and boil all of the water you boiled? Great content as always!
Last weekend I made a nice bench, a bit like the one Julius made but suspended between two trees. Next day loggers dropped a tree on it. I swear it's true. Woke up to the sound of machinery, packed up like crazy and got the fck out of there while trees where falling a hundred metres from camp. Had some breakfast, then I hid my pack and went back to see if I could clean up the tripod and bench and such (leave no trace) and saw the tree that crushed my nice bench. Almost on my hammock spot as well. Worst of all, I didn't even get to make a nice cup of cofee that morning..
That was awesome man, dylan u had a great idea. Julius that water didnt look drinkable but way to bushcraft. Why was a normal tent not a choice in the shelter rewards?
DOOM scenarios... hrmmm... You have to find an abandoned skyscraper and descend into.. Hell? First one there gets to make it back out? Well, at least it would make for an interesting video.
You missed out buddy, That australian swag is incredible. Im australia and every one of my mates has one or has used them, all my male cousins have used them, my uncles etc... They may weigh a little bit, but they are comfortable, warm, wind and water proof. Should have a mattress inside, or at least a bit of foam, So you have shelter, bedding, comfort, warmth and protection. Would have been a great choice
@@SmoothGefixt Haha not if it was a straight hike, Over 3 days? hmm, depends on what else you were taking i guess.. If i were doing that challenge and can only bring basics, like flint ( fire starter ) knife and 1 other thing, id take it 100%, Once its on your back it should have multiple straps and evenly distributes the weight, if not you can make something, and the bag is water proof, so any water you have to cross you can store things in and zip it up to use as a flotation device . They look more awkward and heavy then they are. Having said that, If you are going through really thick bush and terrain then it would slow you down and cause all sorts of problems, One day you should try it out, just to see what they are like. If its a proper swag, it can be a thunderstorm, worst rain and wind you have slept in and you would be dry and warm, It could snow and you would be dry and warm they are incredible to have for survival, But not the easiest to carry.. Love you videos guys, not sure who i like more team julius or team dylon, I love both your skills and ideas you use in the bush, so ill have to be team jager haha.
Hey guys I feel you have been misinformed about wat you call the Aussie swag .swags can be tied to the top of a back pack and also roll up they are reasonably light as well considering their size and look more like a sleeping bag when rolled out.the one you show sounds like has poles swags don't need poles
I've started binging all of your videos yesterday and I already dreamed I was exploring with y'all trying to set up camp but turned out we were on someone's land and they kicked us out.
My swag takes but an arm to pick up, it's about 4-5kg, get a better one lol And also, I'm Australian. We don't talk like early 20th century yobbos anymore, we talk like 21st century yobbos now xD hahaa

If it's an invasive species, you have no reason to justify. Take the damn thing
man i love this theme of 5 battles leading up to biggest challenge ever, But i soooo cant wait for that final challenge. 4 weeks to go
I know who this is xD
The idea behind melting the pitch and using it and moss to secure the sides is cool. Same with the clamps for the corners of the bark
Very cool. Love the banter, instructional also, I found my self googling "How to make Pine Tar" lol. Can't wait for the next video. Cheers guys. :)
I freaking love this series so far! Great idea! Keep it up! This is amazing!
This should be a TV show. So much potential! Great work gentlemen.

Holy Moly! This was absolutely amazing! Can't wait for the next one keep it up guys! Much love!
Man, i love these video's. keep them coming lad's.
Julius should've soaked the dry bark, it would've been easier to bend and prevent tearing
Also once soaked he could have heated it carefully over the fire to make it even more pliable.
Can't wait for the last challenge!! Keep it up!!!
Love this series - great to have you back :-)
Great fun both of you. I enjoyed this very much. Keep going!
So glad I found this channel! This series is awesome.

This format of competition before the actual adventure is fantastic.
This series has been worth the wait. Welcome back Dylan!

Spell "tongs". Thongs are garments.
Brilliant channel lads, putting humour back in YT.
This is my new favorite series on UA-cam. Please keep it up! Really great viewing
Pretty awesome guys. Can't wait for the next one.

Could have cut some disks off the end of a log to make ends of that large piece of bark, and just sinched it tight...
I would take the sleeping bag in my opinion its the most usefull one
Very cool challenge im looking forward to the next one :)
What if it rains?;)
Maybe build a small natural roof with sticks and leaves or under a big fallen tree
Great battle small fast win. Great pick poncho
Been busy lately, Hope I can catch up on this series! its so underrated and cool!
Awesome video once again, nice guys!

For future reference, porous rock (if you can find it), is less likely to shatter when heated
