My favourite part of UA-cam film essays are the part where it stops a minute in and the guy says "Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself, let's take a step back"
as a big fan of three colors: blue, you cooked with your analysis of the sugar cube shot. that shot reveals the most things about the main character out of any shot in the movie, without even showing her at all.
Recently something that cringed the shiz out of me is when all the characters from Alex Garland’s Civil War cry shouting their hearts out after the Jesse Plemons shooting sequence.
Good movies pull emotions out of us; they don't GIVE us emotions like a McDonald's order. The emotions exist inside of us already. As a filmmaker your job is to extract them from us, not substitute them with symbols that must be decoded
Video's only been out for like an hour and it's already underrated

I liked this a lot. It explained (partly) why sometimes very dream like editing with gaps and discontinuity works so well.
Thank you for creating this video, It was incredibly informative! I’m looking forward to seeing what you create next!
beautiful video
Incredible video!
Learnt a lot. Inspiring. Thanks
The empt space is such an interesting concept I never thought about
Superb analysis of an all too neglected aspect of cinematic storytelling today, the use of indirect imagery!
No way you are only at 2.4k. As a small creator this type of content is so impressive to me. Anyways have a blessed day.
Beautifully done!
Good shit - As a director, I'm always looking for ways to improve my visual storytelling. Keep these coming.

what does cooked means?
@@bbrother92 cooked as in like modern slang for "you did well"
@@VinkGD so when you young folks say Am I cooked - this is means Is it good?
@@bbrother92 funnily enough being cooked has a more pejorative sense but the act of "cooking" is positive
@@VinkGD thanks
...when you realise you've been meaning to re-watch a film for 30 years.
This is profound.
"the gutter"
I have never felt a single speck of emotion watching these art films. 😅
Yeah, well, then go watch Breaking Bad and appreciate that Vince Gilligan got the lesson.
How sad
How does it feel to be dead inside?

Объективы не дают ничего кроме иллюзии понимания. Зря потратил время
