Lofi Cinema aims to democratize cinema, exploring the idea of meaningful art in low fidelity films.
Why you should embrace minimalism in movies
What if watching a movie could give you that same imaginative spark you get from reading a great novel? In this video I dive into practical ways that can create an emotional connection between the viewer and what's on screen and make the movie feel more personal.

whats up with your audio?
I appreciate your advices, but I’m a little confused on what your overall intention is. If people want to express themselves through different art forms and they don’t know which ones, or they do know but they’re afraid they’re not popular art forms, that’s one topic. If people know for a fact that film is the art form they want and they’re afraid they won’t get the chance to make a feature, that’s another topic. If an aspiring filmmaker makes projects similar to the examples in this video, that will get them “noticed”, but will it be a ticket to enter the industry? Will the higher-ups watch those projects and believe that the creator is the right fit to make a film?
Keep up the good fight!
awesome editing and design
i personally think the realistic version was hilarious
Filmmakers should start wherever they want lmao
Funny enough I always classify Tarantino movies as comedy’s. I don’t get why people think they’re anything but. Pulp fiction is my favorite movie for many reasons but a major one is because of how damn funny it is
The takeaway....watch UA-cam less, film more, figure it out in editing.
Ahead of the time
But not me! I'm going to coast by on sheer talent!
First of all we must understand what comedy means: Tragedy. There is not such thing as "happy" comedy, Comedy is a series of events from tragedy, this is evident in the book 'Divine comedy' by dante. If we pay attention, Chaplin's comedy or any jim carrey comedy is based on inconveniences or personal tragedies. it's psychological in many ways
Why UA-camrs should start with mono sound and not stereo 🖕🖕
Home Alone with death and gore is just a deathtrap dungeon from old school D&D
I can’t believe he just suggested people use AI actors
Man you explained it so beautifully i used to think I'll never do comedy but this make me want to do experiment and not do serious drama right away
The Django and pie part's edit was crazy😂
The edit on this was something else
Title made me think of John Demme's "Something Wild" starting out as a romantic New York comedy then turn on a dime with Ray Liotta into a dramatic movie. His next movie "Married to the Mob" wasn't a great comedy but "Silence of the Lambs" went full blown horror. Comedy is funny because it has a grain of truth to it.
silly me, I just needed to live in NY and get noticed by nathan fielder. Or make a podcast(?) still, nice video
Umm..will you ever also mention female filmmakers and their visions and styles? Why do you (and every other "film youtuber" for that instance) only ever talk about the same 5 male filmmakers? It's getting boring. It is time to broaden our field of inspiration and the filmmakers we discuss, don't you think?
bad thesis, wrong conclusion to make
Recently something that cringed the shiz out of me is when all the characters from Alex Garland’s Civil War cry shouting their hearts out after the Jesse Plemons shooting sequence.
As far as i know, Peter Jackson began making Gore movies before he made The Lord of the Rings, so if i could highlight one of his early movies, I would call Dead Alive "the goriest movies ever".
good
Superb analysis of an all too neglected aspect of cinematic storytelling today, the use of indirect imagery!
Look: you played Tribe twice, then educated me on pacing. Subscribed!

Missed opportunity at 6:07 . He should've said "There's the show. That's the show."
Thank u so much
Thank you for creating this video, It was incredibly informative! I’m looking forward to seeing what you create next!
Be fair, beau is afraid cost $30 million
...when you realise you've been meaning to re-watch a film for 30 years.
beautiful video
Good movies pull emotions out of us; they don't GIVE us emotions like a McDonald's order. The emotions exist inside of us already. As a filmmaker your job is to extract them from us, not substitute them with symbols that must be decoded
My favourite part of UA-cam film essays are the part where it stops a minute in and the guy says "Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself, let's take a step back"
Beautifully done!
Learnt a lot. Inspiring. Thanks
Incredible video!
I have never felt a single speck of emotion watching these art films. 😅
Yeah, well, then go watch Breaking Bad and appreciate that Vince Gilligan got the lesson.
How sad
How does it feel to be dead inside?
The empt space is such an interesting concept I never thought about
I liked this a lot. It explained (partly) why sometimes very dream like editing with gaps and discontinuity works so well.
Good shit - As a director, I'm always looking for ways to improve my visual storytelling. Keep these coming.
No way you are only at 2.4k. As a small creator this type of content is so impressive to me. Anyways have a blessed day.
well Jordan Peele started with comedy and now he’s making horror movies
I'm not falling for that one Nothing hardest to write than comedy AT ALL
as a big fan of three colors: blue, you cooked with your analysis of the sugar cube shot. that shot reveals the most things about the main character out of any shot in the movie, without even showing her at all.
what does cooked means?
@@bbrother92 cooked as in like modern slang for "you did well"
@@VinkGD so when you young folks say Am I cooked - this is means Is it good?
@@bbrother92 funnily enough being cooked has a more pejorative sense but the act of "cooking" is positive
@@VinkGD thanks
love this, man. keep em coming
This is profound.
Video's only been out for like an hour and it's already underrated
