- I've been banging on about how good GSX-R750s are for years. It's about time I finally got one. My new GSX-R750 L4 has been crash damaged and the aim is to get it fixed up in time for Suzuki Live at Cadwell Park on 22/23 June. See you there...hopefully.

I’m not ashamed to say I’m deep into a midlife crisis and just passed my test and got a gsxr 600… 43 years young and loving it !!!!
I had a K4 in my 20’s that I rode all the way from Bristol to the Alps. I’m 40 now and would love another GSXR 600. So much fun without being scary! Used to pop and spit flames from the Yoshimura. Loved it.
I am 68 so my crisis is dragging on some what. 😂😂😂😂
Good on ya. How much was insurance and what area are you from
I have a K5 600 it's my daily with 80 000kms on the clock and it's still going strong. Perfect size and power for me.
They're bulletproof amazing 🤟
i wonder what kind of midlife crisis a biker goes through that has already ridden 1000s....
Great news! You should contact Suzuki to see if they can do you some favours with cheap / free replacement parts. They go out of their way to promote their original parts program & are usually pretty helpful with these sorts of things. Please please make some vids of the restoration! Can't wait.
Idk why I find it so satisfying when someone buys a lightly crashed bike and returns it back to old glory for pennies on the bargain? Definitely happy when my bike went down that it’s a naked bike so I needed like 2 parts to get it back looking proper. The downside was that one of the parts that needed replacing was the stator cover so the flatbed laid it down on the opposite side so the oil wouldn’t leak and scraped the frame that would’ve been unscathed if he hadn’t done that.
I can see how happy you are, life can be complicated but when you know what makes you happy it's not that hard. I hope the UK gets a good summer for you to get out and ride a lot!
Nice Neevesy. I have ridden a lot of GSXR 750 and owned a couple. They are truly a great bike. I have myself recently purchased a 2015 Panigale 899 2 weeks ago. This is my first ducati, and it really is a theatrical bike to ride and good when you get it right. But I have to say the GSXR 750 is easier to ride faster on. Enjoy. ✊️
I’m 61 and have a 2017 GSXR750 and love riding the twisties here in Brisbane will be watching the project with interest
Thank you, sir!

Up old glorious or mount tambourine. Great riding around there
I remember running the rings around you on my 600 mate.
@@Terraceview Interesting I don’t even know you
I just bought an L1 GSXR-750 last week, Neevesy! We're bike twins!
Brilliant news, you're one of us Neevesy 👍🏻😎 Keep us posted of your journey 🙂
Just turned 60 and still riding my 03 gsxr 750 and keeping up with alot of them newer bikes..You go Neevesy!!😎👊
I had a 2011 GSX-R750 and it helped me learn how to work on bikes. It had been crashed via low side more then once similar to your bike. The engine function was perfect so I didn't care that it had a ton of scuffs, broken fairings, shaved down foot pegs. I replaced everything I could with OEM parts. It was very fun getting it all fixed up. I ended up trading it in for a 2023 GSX-R1000 but I wish I kept it to have it along side.
I bought a crashed 2007 ZX6r as I wanted a winter project to keep me interested. Within 2 months I had it looking like new. Sailed through the MOT. Proud moment 😊
K5 1000 here. Best content on youtube regarding bikes. Cant describe how much i love Suzukis. When company does something from bottom of em hearth. ❤
Awesome. I love the fact Neevesey isn't slightly worried to buy a crash damaged bike and bring it back to glory.
I did this with a Yamaha R1 4C8. It wasn't crash damaged but just very very neglected. With my very limited skills I stripped it down, deep cleaned every book and cranny (the dirt and grime was unbelievable) and then serviced it and refitted some new parts. Then deep cleaned all the panels and touched in damage.
It looked so awesome when finished.
Can't wait to see the restoration 💯🏍️👍✊
Recently retired and just bought an SV650 in Canada after a life of disappointment riding Harleys. You need to enjoy the ride now. Impress yourself nobody else.
Congrats Neevesy! What a legend!
After preaching us for years on this channel, about how good GSXR-750 is, now you're going to show us.
For a guy living in Holland, it's pure coincidence that I'm working in Lincolnshire till summer. Look forward to meeting you in person at Cadwell Park if possible.
See you there 👍
Neevesy, they're $12,500 here in the US, brand new. Come over! Ship it back. Thanks for your great, detailed, informative, personal reviews, Sir.
Congratulations neevesy enjoy.
I have an L1 had it for 9 years now and it puts a smile on my face and makes me chuckle. 😊
Love the 750 content. I have a L3 750 and it is my favorite bike of all time! Best blend of power and handling and can keep up with any modern 1000 for the most part.
I remember being on the back of a Suzuki 750 with the old man as a 11 year old passing a line of cars so sweet....
"everyone needs a Bob" - the most apt saying, we all have one in one way or another our group of friends version is actually called "bill" haha
Kid in a sweet shop springs to mind 🏁
I've had three GSXR 750's over the past 25 years, watching this may change that to four........ Look forward to watching it progress.
Nice work. Having gone through a K5, K7 and finally an L7, I’m finally without a Gixxer in my life but I can see how excited you are to finally have a bike of you’re own. It’s easy to assume you’re living the dream riding the newest bikes in the most amazing locations but there’s nothing like riding your own bike for fun. Now you can officially earn an ASBO and tear up your neighbourhood with your brother..
NIce to see the love for @RRCRestoration - look forward to more on this (just bought a Gen 1 SV 650 curvy in the UK and might do a few trackdays when I am there).
❤❤❤ love you for that…ive done the same 4 years ago and got my gen 1 busa….no more words
I feel justified! After your last vid, i put a deposit down on mint, relatively low mileage L3 with FSH last week. Can't wait 👍🏻 Cheers Neevesy 🍻
It'll come up alright. Not to much damage. I want to see it running in good spirits again. I am tip toing waiting for the next video. Good luck with the process of making it track ready again.
I’m 58 and have a 750 K8 for the last 10yrs and love it
Congrats on the new bike neevsy looking forward to watching the build!
Congrats.Look forward to see the build take place.
Awesome! Having owned each and every one of these (and destroyed a few during racing). The memories are just priceless.
I love that you brought one this way. Best of luck with the repairs and cant wait to see you on it flying .
Man I absolutely loved everything about my L4 750! Will buy another one sometime in the near future
one of the most honest and humble moto reporters... Sincere congrats
Awesome, really pleased for you, look forward to seeing you with it at Suzuki Live 😊👍🏍️🏁
Congrats Neevesy, looking forward to seeing how it all develops!
Can we just appreciate how effortlessly Bob handled that GSXR
Exactly
Yes yes and yes. Congrats on your gsx R. Looking forward to the rebuild. Especially 4mm spacer on top of shock.
Loved watching your gsxr recaps over the last few months. Keep it coming.
Good on you mate, looking forward to the bike build.
Good job. Got my 2012 4 weeks ago and love it. Can't wait to see your 750 come back together 😊
Brilliant, looking forward to the rebuild.
Thoroughly enjoyed that nee set thank you
Congrats enjoy your new bike. The smile on your face says it all.
Congratulations, the connoisseur’s choice in sport bikes!!! 🏍️💨
I've done 20k miles on an identical 750 since 2020, Wales, Scotland, Peak District, B500, Alps, Pyrenees, Pico's and the Ardennes several times. It has never put a foot wrong. Ventura rear rack and spada bag plus a roll top bag on the pillion seat is all you need to travel the world on a gsx-r750 (oh and heated grips!).
I've added one tooth to the rear sprocket, just to make 1st gear hairpins a little easier, I wouldn't change the gearing any more then that. 17 front & 46 rear (JTR1876.46 & JTS520.17 & DID 525VX 116 Chain)
Congratulations neevesy well deserved I can sense the happiness in your voice, looking forward to seeing the bike come together for you 😊👍🏻
Loving this content Neevesy! As a longtime GSXR750 fan/owner I understand your excitement and I am really looking forward to seeing your new pride and joy progress. Many thanks for the excellent content.
Great video mate Iv been watching since 2012 or early 2013 when I was doing my full bike licenses. Showing my age now 🫣🤫 and I’m here supporting you on your own journey doing content for your own UA-cam channel and I’m still loving every minute of your content. Keep up the amazing content.
Nice 1 great content looking forward to the progress you make I’ve got the 2016 model L6 with the Yoshimura bits going to keep hold of it when ever I hear your love for them 👍
Love new bike day, thanks for sharing!
Congratulations!! Wonderful bike👌🏻
The 44Teeth guys say that Suzuki is putting the GSX-R1000 back on the street.
If true, that would be great!
Bloody great!
A beautiful machine worthy of true resurrection!
I’m really looking forward to seeing your GSXR come strongly back to life and many future videos of you enjoying the experience 😊
Move to the US you can buy one new for about $12,000! I have been considering doing so before it’s discontinued.
But we can not put it on EU roads... friend imported one for track days only
Congratulations mate, great machines, enjoy it when it gets done
Congrats on the purchase mate 👍🏽😎🏍 very happy for you 👍🏽 . I bet you can’t wait for that first ride ! 👍🏽😎🏁
Great score Michael. Well done. That Porsche 356 Speedster is magnificent
Having ridden practically everything on two wheels that can be ridden, I guess GSX should be honored to be your dream bike.
Congratulations, mr. Neeves!
Great to see despite all the bikes you have ridden and have access to how exited you are about this one. Its that enthusiasm that makes your channel so good. Everytime a gixer 750 passes me on the roads round here (near to you) I will be thinking is that neevsey?
Hi. That's awesome. I can't wait to see the followup video. Great job!
Nice bike ! I will enjoy watching the build .
Awesome and excitng to see how this build comes together. I have never ridden a GSX750 but have a few favorite's of my own that i am always building and improving on ( ZX12R x 3 LOL). Keeps us young and busy ( and broke lol) . Love your work everyweek - dont always comment but never miss the weekly rant. Keep them coming
I don't know what it is about those older bikes of that era... they're special and give a different type of excitement. I just can't feel that with modern bikes...not sure why really but for me that's how it is.
Hello Neevesy,
Congrats on the Gixxer 750! I’m sure it’s going to turn out great in the end, how exciting!
I’ve been watching your videos (MCN and now your channel) since the time that you had the yellow Ducati 848 streetfighter long- termer. I have always enjoyed your reviews and have learned so much about the motorcycle world (design, chassis, suspension, riding technique, etc.) from you. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and experience with us. I hope to get to your level of riding ability one day. Best of luck with the Gixxer, and Greetings from Los Angeles!
Great stuff ! Cant wait for the next instalment
Congratulations welcome to the GSXR 750 family
Very happy for you! That bike deserves to be saved and no better team to do it. Enjoy the process & thanks for documenting for us fans around the world. Cheers to ya ✌👊
I am looking forward to this project as I, too, own a 2022 GSXR 750. I've been busy upgrading the bike. It's a joy!
Great vid , really looking forward to this little series
I also have a 2014 750 and absolutely love it! I’m 62 & ride street & occasional track days too, fantastic bikes, best of luck with it!
It's really telling how special the bike is when it's the first bike you've owned in 24 years - even knowing all the bikes you've ridden, all your loaners and travelling that you do. I did a similar rebuild with my 954 blade. Looking forward to following along with your build!
Great buy Michael👍
I'm sure it's gonna be a flawless machine once built up.
Cannot wait to see more clips on it!
Really great to see the joy this has brought you.
I picked up an MV F3 Rosso. In my mind a similar prospect to the GSXR - great handling and more than enough BHP for the road. A joy to see, hear and feel. Looks very similar I think too.
Best motorcycle content on UA-cam. Best wishes with the new bike.
She doesn't look too bad at all. Hope its a handy fix up
Congratulations! Fun project.
Congratulations Sir and welcome at last!! Only bike ever bought new was a K6 and like a muppet sold it in mint condition years later. Regrets, yes lots. Since tried many bikes but nothing came close. Getting on in years now and in remission from cancer so couldn't resist buying another when I came across a mint 2013 Yoshimura Special Edition with 6k miles. Regrets, NO, one of the best things I've ever done. They’re not just fast and nimble but safe, comfortable, easy to live with and bloody good fun.
Thanks for all your great vids. Enjoy your smiles!
There are very few commentators I pay much attention to but Michael is one of them.. Your review of your long-term test GSXR 750 encouraged me to buy one. I bought it brand-new and it was the very last of the available in the UK at the time in the yellow and black livery. It’s been an absolutely fantastic bike, very reliable, I love it and my purchase decision is because of you doing that review you get to ride thousands of bikes in your career and the fact you were sad at having to take it back to Suzuki UK told me everything I need to know.
Cheers bud. You can’t beat a 750!
Very nice! Congrats on scoring one of your favorite bikes. Damn it! With all the GSX-R videos I am getting the itch to go out and pick one up here in the states.
This is amazing bud, I only bought one 2 weeks ago due to your enthusiastic videos. This is gonna be great content for the channel can’t wait 👏
Congrats on your purchase Neevesy I’ve just seen a 2024 advertised or at least a test ride on in nice to see emm still being produced Best o luck with your rebuild lovely bike 🍻👍
Just bought a k4 750! My first sports bike… safe to say I’m a little bit nervous to ride it, but super excited to finally get the bike I’ve wanted since I was a teenager (I’m 35). Blessings on your new bike, sir!
Hell yeah man!! Welcome to the club 🔥🔥
Congratulations on your purchase,, I've got a K6GSXR 1000 it's the 5th GSXR from 750 2x 1100s and my 03 now k6 1000 great motorcycle's,, looking forward to seeing this one,, from northern Ireland ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ brilliant stuff 😁
Nice!! Great machine! Happy for you bro! 🫡👍🦾💃🏻🔥💚💚💚
Me too, like the colours of the L1 - I did buy a GSXR 750L Slingshot a few years ago, don't use it very often but have always loved the way they look. 👍
Awesome video! Beautiful bike for sure. I love this sort of video. I am looking forward to the progression. Best!
I really thought you were going to get the BMW S1000XR. It really put a smile on your face. But hey ho. Best!
Nice one, Neevesy. It's going to be fun watching you (or Bob, rather, lol) fix it up. Looking forward to seeing you jump the mountain with it.
I have had lots of different bikes, but I keep coming back to them. Current is a K6 - track/road bike. The 750 for me hits the sweet spot in terms of handling and usable power.
Couldn’t be more happier with my previously damaged 1998 Suzuki Gsx600f, that now stands apart as a reborn stripped out Cafe Racer! It could be argued that previously damaged bikes are better value for money. Good luck with your bike, looks like a good ‘un already!👍
Happy days right, like you are meeting with a family member you have always talked great about. Emotional times.
Very nice micheal i have a 750l3 in the same colours but alot of carbon added. Youll love it! Congrats
I know the blue and white is traditional, but I always lusted after the black and wine red.👍🏻
Subbed for this. Great to see your passion show. And i agree, everyone needs a Bob. 😅
She's in good hands 🙌🏻😎🏍💨
Good luck!
Nice find, looking forward to seeing how it comes together. I got my dream Suzuki from my youth a few years back, although given it's a late 70s TS185 I won't be doing any track days on it! Great fun around the Bachmann lanes tho'
Congrats on your awesome bike. mate 👍
I wish this episode was 9 hours long!!! cant wait to see this series
Great buy! Congratulations!
I’m excited for you Michael. I’d love another spin on my old k6.
Well I bought a GSXR750 after your long term test of one in the early 2010’s. Nearly squeezed 210 miles to a tank on a run - albeit at full tuck across Norfolk on an eco run!
Good stuff! Looking forward to see the result.
Congratulations, I hope you'll be very happy together 💕
