The Light Whip is (IMO) the perfect example of how the showrunners don't understand what they are making a critique of: putting aside how it is mechanically different from the EU version, the very idea of a Light Whip is so much better suited to a Sith, as opposed to a Jedi. Why? It's a weapon that discards tradition (something Jedi are very big on), while at the same time being a weapon ideally suited to a loner and a force of destruction. It's inherently dangerous to everyone around the user, which suits the various philosophies of the Sith quite well, but... not exactly in keeping with the values of harmony that the Jedi espouse.

In a duel a laser whip would be massively advantageous as it has longer reach and it would be basically impossible to parry since it would bend and hit you anyway.

There is a difference between deconstruction and ruination. KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords was a deconstruction of the Jedi and Sith. It did not break anything. The creators worked within the confines of canon and showed us a different perspective on the Starwars galaxy. And because KOTOR is an RPG, you were free to accept, reject, and consider whatever Kriea tells you. Crapolyte is a ruination of the Jedi and Sith. The series goes out of its way to bulldoze an established universe just to make the Jedi look bad and the Sith look good. The creators involved have no respect for the canon or the audience, and get butthurt when the audience calls them out on their arrogance. And because its a streaming series made by out of touch hacks, you have no control over whatever happens in the "story".

There is a difference between deconstruction and ruination.
KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords was a deconstruction of the Jedi and Sith. It did not break anything. The creators worked within the confines of canon and showed us a different perspective on the Starwars galaxy. And because KOTOR is an RPG, you were free to accept, reject, and consider whatever Kriea tells you.
Crapolyte is a ruination of the Jedi and Sith. The series goes out of its way to bulldoze an established universe just to make the Jedi look bad and the Sith look good. The creators involved have no respect for the canon or the audience, and get butthurt when the audience calls them out on their arrogance. And because its a streaming series made by out of touch hacks, you have no control over whatever happens in the "story".
It is hard to comprehend that 180 million was spent on this pile of dog shyte. They should call it the Crapolshyte.
