I learned so much from this one video. I been editing on my iphone and it’s and old iphone so it’s a struggle. As I write this im on my way home where the new Ipad 11 pro m4 I just ordered is waiting for me. I can’t wait to put all this new info into practice.
good video! ipad 13 M4 is excellent, I use it the same way - though Adobe need to add AI denoise (so I don't have to finish everything off on my PC) and Apple need to add better file management capability, fix the sound issue of not being able to play a sound over another and fix the bugs in stage manager.
the only problem with ipad is file management. im a professional tattooer so my ipad is just as important as my machine. but coming into photography my ipad has been pissing me off when it comes to file recognition. i just got a macbook air m1 16gb 1tb for a steal and im super happy editing photos on here vs my m2 ipad. other than that? i enjoy editing much more on ipad
Hey mate , do you find ipad gets hot and it dims the screen while you are editing ? i had 12.9 m2 or m3 before and after using it for 10 mins on full brigntness , screen was getting dimmer and makes editing really hard . Especially when i start using masks ..
Cannot tell you how much i just learned from this. Thank you for making it. I’ll check your page because maybe it is there, but how did you get the profiles into Lightroom? Mine only have adobe stock profiles.
I’m glad you learned something from my video! These are camera specific profiles for the Fuji x100VI, but you’ll be able to find other specific camera profiles from each brand!
Finally someone how does in depth look with the new M4 iPad Pro 13 , the Pencil and LR.. That would be my dream - But i would really need Topaz Photo AI at min for DeNoise. And no Topaz on iPad so far is a real bummer!!
This is actually the 11” m4, but I’m glad you enjoyed! I’m really hoping more ai editing features come to iPad seeing as it has a literal desktop level chip in it.
Did it make you export the files all one at a time and make you guess which ones were edited or not? That was the first time I traveled with my iPad only last year and last time. I hope they updated those two things. It was a nightmare.
No, I usually do batch exports, I don’t export unedited ones. Quite easy to tell which have been edited and not before I select it to be part of the batch export
@@JanasViLoegg Great to know. I was using LR on my Ipad for about 2 years and never had it. Of course when I gave up on it they would add it :). I have switched away from Adobe now to Affinity and other products. However; I can still say that the build-in iPad OS apps are still way nerfed compared to web apps and with few exceptions.
Personally I really like the 11” form factor, it’s small and portable, and differentiates itself enough in size from a laptop for me. I feel like 13 is too big and cumbersome, and I’d rather just use a laptop at that point, but everyone is different! I’d recommend going to a store and testing them out and seeing what works best for you!
Lightroom on iPad is VERY limited. Make sure you are aware of that. I do not know any single photographers that only use iPad (same actually with video editing but for other reasons).
I went for the 13" model as it's the best screen you can buy at the moment (at a "reasonable" price), so I wanted to view (and edit) my images on the biggest one I could get. It works perfectly as a second monitor to your Mac using Sidecar so there's that too.
I think if you’re having fun with photography and learning, and only need a device for editing, you can’t go wrong with any of them. I think the desktop full version of Lightroom and other applications are far superior to what you can do on the iPad, so if you want a device you can grow with, and eventually do professional work with, I’d recommend a laptop. For photos, you’re not getting a huge upgrade from air to pro, as photo editing is cpu based and not gpu, and the base model will perform very similarly to the highest end model.
Lightroom on iPad is so limited...I love developing on my Surface with Capture One Pro. No way someone that really develops RAW as a hobby would suffice using an iPad.
I think as a hobby it’s perfectly fine, but I would not be doing culling and batch edits of client work on an iPad. But a great tool for on the go minimal editing stuff
@MarcTaraz the question regarding the iPad is why limit yourself to a tablet that only allow minimal stuff. With Surface Pro and similar with long battery life and good performance around the corner, the iPad is losing its only remaining advantage.
@frostybe3r well it kinds of when you listen to the narrative of the video about editing photo on a tablet. I will not discuss on the 95% and if it is more 60% instead but the fact that every one (even the more apologist Apple fanboys) recognize that it cannot fully replace a Mac is confirming my point. The iPad is about to lose it single remaining advantage (performance/ battery life ratio)
It’s more than enough. I’d get an external hard drive if you’re editing a lot of pictures and doing long term storage, that 256 can fill up fast if you’re shooting and importing a lot of
You certainly can export to various formats including TIF as well as open in Photoshop directly from Lightroom. You can't open a selection of images as stacked layers yet, but here's hoping Adobe implements that feature soon (iPadOS willing)...
The desktop version is my main editing software for professional client work. I love it. This mobile version is great for on the go edits. As I am not an Adobe engineer I do not know how much stuff they are stealing, but I am definitely not a fan of their new ai policies and hope they get enough backlash to change it
Really? I do so many things on mine: photo editing, drawing, coloring, taking notes, reading magazines and books. I save videos for my TV, laptop or phone on the go 😀✌🏽

What is the best screen to do photo correcting with. Nano texture or the standard glass? Which are you using in this tutorial?
Awesome vid, please do more of these on the iPad. What configuration did you get?
I’m so glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching! This is the 1TB 11” M4 iPad Pro with the normal glossy glass as I personally dislike the nanotexture.

A whole lot of SAUCE. This looks great in order to edit... make... or draw ART.
You can indeed create some amazing art with these tools. I still prefer my camera, but there are so many talented artists out there
Great time listening to you? What music is it? 🙂
It’s good to know that the iPad supports Lightroom editing. I’m about to move so I won’t have my desktop Mac for a few months 😩
It does indeed. It’s not the full desktop experience, but it’s something!
Amazing technique, where we can find these profiles is there any link i couldn’t see
I just took back the 13 inch and went with the 11, what’s your long term review on the smaller screen have you had both?
What’s new ?! We can do this with iPad m1 and apple pencil.. apple puts a turbo processor in a limited software.

Hi. Do you edit with True Tone On or Off ?
Always with True Tone off, otherwise it messes with color
Which software are u using? Sorry for the dumb question!
This is Lightroom for iPad!
How’s it handle larger files in PS with lots of layers?
so i wonder can you use, with the m4 model use a lightroom and photoshop version that gives you all the option the desktop variant gives you??
Sadly no
@@MarcTaraz bummer i cant really seem to find what features left out, what die you noticed so far?
Is this Lightroom mobile or Lightroom Cloud that you are on? And then there is Lightroom Classic which is what I use mostly.

Does your Ipad screen dimms while editing for a long time?
Yes.
not anymore with m4s. i bought one and no problem
