Leaving ship life seems hard, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I met my wife, started a family and acclimated to a life on land. And have never looked back.
I completely understand how you feel. It's an addictive lifestyle for all of the reasons you've said, but I think we both realize it doesn't last forever. Have fun!!!@@krista.jocelyn
Greetings from California. (You drove within a couple hundred yards of my house when you road-tripped the coast.) I've just recently discovered your channel, and am binge-watching to get caught up. You've mentioned a number of things that were not allowed aboard the Royal Caribbean ship you worked on. Interestingly, I also (sporadically) follow a skater who just finished her latest contract aboard Royal. She had a pod coffee maker in her room, as well as an electric kettle, and she had all kinds of perishables in her fridge (almond milk and yogurt and occasionally various fruits). And her roommate was her boyfriend. They are not married, and they don't even live in the same country, much less together. (She's American; he's English.) And he isn't a skater; his job was in some of the sports stuff. So I'm guessing those rules must vary rather widely between ships, and I'm wondering who makes the rules. Just curious. Best wishes to you and that cute guy of yours. :)
You're a joy to follow along with. I've traveled on RCCL, NCL and Carnival as a guest. I've always had the interest of what its like tor work as a crew member but with having a dog, it will not work out. I have learned not to try to figure out your future. Take each day as it comes. Keep up the great work. I love the content.
@@krista.jocelyn between yourself and Chris Wong, both of you have amazing content. how did you prepare with your personal life with your first contract? was it difficult being away from your family and friends at home? Thank you!
I have been following your adventures for a couple of years. Starting in early 22 right after booking the POA for September and I was looking for info on what to do off ship. Unfortunately your contract ended before our sailing but you helped us choose some excursions. I picked you up again when you got your Royal contract. We had sailed on the Enchantment a couple times from Baltimore plus we are booked on the Celebrity Constellation in May to Italy, Croatia and Montenegro. So again watching your off ship travel. Looking forward now to Kotor. I have found your videos a pleasure to watch. You are very down to earth and honest. I wish you both all the best in figuring out your future.
Awh thank you so much for following along for everything! 🥲 happy that my videos have helped! I plan to make a video about the Med soon so hopefully that helps for your next cruise 🤗
Just woke up on a Sunday morning to find your vlog. It was one of your best ever, getting to know you more. Have you ever thought of Australia and New Zealand itineraries??
I found you because we are doing a Celebrity Constellation cruise (italy and Croatia) in August, so I was looking at everything cruise related. Found you and have followed you since. Good luck to you both with whatever happens for you next :). Also, very happy to hear that you love Kotor :)
Nice video. When you decide to buy a house and get as many dogs as you can handle is it going to be back in Colorado or New York or a mystery destination and do you think you’ll always be an entertainer or maybe turn into instructor or maybe do something completely different? I know that’s a lot so if you just pick one that’s fine🤗
I am also going crazy lol it’s really hard!! I wish I had better advise. I just try not to obsessively check my email and just keep auditioning as much as I can
Great update K Has R ever given his life update on your channel? We’re on Enchantment now two cruises Really prefer Can’t stop Rock to Stage Screen We saw this last show over 10 years ago Time to change CD Eric leaving this week going to Freedom Your lifestyle is not the conventional career so foe a while maybe Dance wherever till body says no Good luck
How was the workload different on the contract when you did the world cruise? I would imagine you don't repeat the same shows over and over like on the cruise ship you were just on. Do you know anyone on the current Royal Carribbean world cruise? I was kind of curious what they do and maybe they rotate different performers on and off because it's so long.
The segments of the world cruise were about 20 days so we had less shows, but more duties with the guests. We did repeat the same shows which was kinda crazy. I’m wondering what they’re doing for royal cause 9 months watching the same shows would get boring for sure for the guests!
Anything we want to know? Who did u pick for the Super Bowl? Just kidding. How much to u save per week on a cruise ship? I know u guys don't have much expenses while working on a ship, but u guys have weird expenses like paying for WiFI. Plus, u have opportunity to spend money that the average person doesn't have such as all the touristy ports that u stop off at. So just curious.
Haha I barely knew who was playing 😅 I’m not exactly sure how much I save but for me when we were in Europe I was definitely spending more than I would if we were on a Caribbean itinerary. So it can really vary!

I crave both lifestyles right now so it’s hard to pick 😭 I know I’ll be happy when I decide to stay on land eventually!

Thank you! 🥲 I struggle on the other end of really wanting a dog but knowing it’s not the right time! But that is great advice ♥️

Hello from 1/2 a world away Singapore! Thanks for sharing, all the best for 2024!!!

You make the best videos!! Love living vicariously through you
Thank you so much! :)

Awh thank you!! I did Australia and New Zealand in 2018 and I would absolutely love to go back!!
@@krista.jocelyn wow, didn't know that. Will have a look and see if I can find vlogs from then

Oooh that sounds like a great cruise! Thank you for watching! :)
The microphone really helps. We had a condo on Broadway and I think every siren in NYC went through there
Hahah Broadway especially!
Enjoyed this Q&A, thanks!
Thanks for watching! 🤗

Probably either Colorado or Florida (where Robert is from.) I'll probably always do something related to entertainment, but not sure what!
Would you ever want to perform on Broadway/Theatre? Or work in the Film and TV Industry? Can't wait to hear what happens next!
I really enjoy your videos
Thank you so much!! ♥️
when you said New York I just automatically thought you were a auditioning for Broadway shows, it will cool to see you go to another ship
I mean Broadway would be amazing!! haha
How do you deal with the waiting during audition season? I am trying to get on a cruise line and I feel like I’m going crazy!
I am also going crazy lol it’s really hard!! I wish I had better advise. I just try not to obsessively check my email and just keep auditioning as much as I can
Maybe be a travel agent and make content around that and your travels
This is a great idea! 🤔

What does Robert do as a crew member?
He’s a singer!

how about consider being a flight attendant? though the industry is definitely not as glamorous as others perceive.
If I liked flying more I might consider it! haha
What do you do with your home while you are on a contract? I would worry about leaving it empty for months.
We have a tenant 🤗
Have you and Robert always been able to work on the same ships?
Yes except for one!
@@krista.jocelynthat’s wonderful!!!!
If you are not a singer can you still audition just for dance and work as just a dancer?
Yep! My position was dancer only!
Thank you!! love your vids..at this point im probably too old im 54 and i havent danced or taught for 30 years but its a nice dream i suppose
Become a flight attendant❤
One more question: how many stamps have you gotten in your passport?💃
I had to get a new one because my last one was full! I don't remember how many it had!
Most people dont know what they wanna do their hole life. I am also 28 and still struggeling 😅
That’s true! 😅 it’s a journey for sure
like 300 👍
You're 28??? Nooo waaaayy, I'd have said 20 - 21. Your content is great on and off the ship, how about a tour of your favourite spots in NY?
Haha I appreciate that 😅 but yes I’ll definitely film some of my favorite spots!!
