Emma is my all time favorite! I started watching GH in 1980 so I was watching that first day when Holly debuted in 1982 and loved her ever since. So happy to have her back on GH right now. Great interview. She never ceases to amaze with her grace and positivity even as she struggles with Long Covid. ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻

I always knew this but what a lovely person Emma is. Emma losing her brother when she was 9 to Shawn inspiring the Starlight Foundation years later when Emma had the resources to do so. The Shawn story alone brought me to tears. I’m so happy Emma is well enough to be back working and being Holly again. Thank you Maurice for another great and insightful interview. ☺️

Emma, I met you briefly at a fan event a few years ago in Cleveland on a snowy, miserable weather day, after little sleep and lousy travel. I want to thank you for your graciousness, kindness, and enthusiasm for your role and the history of the entertainment. There was someone in the crowd that made the day difficult and you handled it with grace and charm, it was greatly appreciated. Thank you Maurice for bringing this lovely lady to your show, and for EVERYTHING you do for mental health awareness.

I have long COVID since January of 2022 and totally understand what Emma said about Doctors not understanding it. I had one doctor who pretty much said I was "faking" to get out of going back to work. Thanks be to God that I found the right doctor who recognized it as Long COVID and had been providing the right treatment for me!

Great interview Maurice! I remember watching Emma Samms on GH when I was a teen. It was really nice to get to know more about her. She seems like such a genuine, down to earth great person. The conversation flowed so easily. Great guest to have and I appreciate her opening up about so much. The way she gives back is commendable. Hoping she feels better and heals one day from the long Covid.

Have always loved Emma Samms since she started on GH! That is terrible she has battled Long Covid so long! I actually saw her in person along with Brian Patrick Clark, at an event in Ohio-I think in 1984. It was when she had just started on GH. It was during the time of the Grant Putnam storyline.. So Happy to have her back on GH. I wish it could be permanent!

I've lived alone since I was 17 and I live alone now and I'm 62. I can't even wrap my mind around having people in my house. I guess it's what you get used to. I have a big brute of a dog, so I'm never afraid. I have depression and panic attacks, but it's usually when I'm around too many people. I wouldn't do well without a dog though. I would be lost without my dog.

I loved this conversation with you and Emma, I 've been a fan of her's since the early Holly day's she gives such a chill viibe. Also don't think your audience is tired of hearing about your mental health issues, I've dealt with an anxiety disorder for almost 30 years. when you talk about it with your guests, it is very comforting to listen to someone else who get's it. your helping to comfort and teach people about these issues, Could you maybe have Jonny Wactor back at some time would love to know what he's up to. Emma Samms is another GH actress I have followed on and off since she came on to GH in the 80's. Followed her to Dynasty (and "The Colby's") when she took over the role of "Fallon". Like many other GH fans I have been inticipating her return to GH and Holly ever since the short snippet of her appreared 2 plus years ago. Listening to her speak on COVID all I can say is GOD Bless Her! I had no idea she still was having the long term effects from it, ie: the taste and smell of food and the breathing issues. I'm sure being back on GH can be demanding and I'm sure everyone there is taking good care of her so that she can protray Holly for us for as long as possible. Knowing all she's been through in the past few years, it's truly a blessing to have her still here and back on GH where we love her! xo
Hey, Maurice! I met you yesterday and have to say that my hubs, Bill was so proud to have your autographed picture that he plans to hang it up next to his Elvis portrait! Hubs and I argue about "Sonny" all the time but listening to you and seeing firsthand how you are so much like my Hubs, I truly appreciate you so much more! My daughter was mesmerized seeing how much like her dad you are! It's pretty obvious that your co-workers adore you! Thank you for sharing your story as it hits hie for my family. I have written you before about them and how I have tried to get them to read your blog, as helped me understand what my family members deal with daily.

I'm surprised/not surprised that her doctors didn't believe her when she was describing her symptoms with COVID. Women in general are treated very differently when it comes to any type of medical condition, especially by male doctors. They jump to conclusions that whatever we have is somehow psychosomatic. Menopause especially, for the longest time has not really been taken seriously by male doctors. It took me a long time to find one who did, unfortunately. So sorry Emma is still struggling with her symptoms. Hopefully more research will happen and scientists and doctors can come up with protocols to eradicate long COVID in people. I have loved her character of Holly on GH since her first day when Luke found her skinny dipping in that lake...she's a scrappy character who loves adventure, which is why I like her. I wish her a long run on GH this time, all the best with her charity work and better health going forward. 💞

I too have had long Covid since my first bout of Covid in the summer of 2020.
Emma is so right, it’s so frustrating to go to doctors and some of them want to say it’s your age or older, you must have breathing problems.
You must have this or that, and you are like; no, I just need to get to the source of what’s going on.
Yes, as long Covid, what are we doing about it!?
There are times I just cry because I just want to not be tired, I just want to be able to breathe.

Maurice this month marks my twenty fourth anniversary of my being in recovery with bipolar disorder. My book about it hit #1 in three countries last week. And my movie dropped on Amazon Prime Freevee Apple TV and roku. And so much more. You inspire me so much!!!!
I am going thru my severe anxiety now and it is killing me I will let you know about it one day because I cant imagine that others really go thru this at this severity and I have a hard time explaining it to the doctors

I went through the same issues after having Covid. Massive exhaustion, sugar levels rose, developed seborrheic dermatitis that caused hair loss and rosacea. My dermatologist look at me and blamed my age. Totally dismissive. I hope Emma improves. It’s an uphill battle.
