I loved this. It's so refreshing to watch you bringing a real world used purchase up to your standard - please please continue to make videos on the interior, engine bay, machine polishing (and anything else). Thank you :)
I enjoyed this one. because it's yours. in this one, you were one of us, on a different level than before. just a dude out there detailing his own car. the best part is hearing what you're planning to do with it in the future. just like we do.
truth is, I enjoy them all.
The luxury of washing your car in a secluded spot where you can take your time without the curtain twitchers standard comments "you can do mine next" or "washing it again? you'll wear the paint out!"
Jesus christ, its my dream hands down to have a spot out of view to wash my cars.
I must say though, I now wear my large over ear headphones when I'm on my drive doing my thing, and it makes it painfully obvious that I don't want to stop and be spoken to.
When i get a new car home the first thing i want to do is clean and get rid of the previous owners grime....i want to be able to take my time like this amd be methodical in my approach.....but that face soon peers over the hedge....”washing it already?!” Its so frustrating and it think headphones are a must 🎧
So right. Did some machine polishing for first time the other week on the drive. Had nosey neighbour over in minutes to see what power tool I was using on my car. OK for her to use power tool on her hedge.... At least she doesn't suggest I wash her car for her.
@@ajmtank191919 Mine was clean when I picked it up but couldn't wait for first wash to start to get to know the car, and for it to become mine rather than a second hand car I'd just taken over.
@@WestfieldFreshAir its the only way you get to know where all the dents and chips are. Best thing about a new second hand car is that first clean 🧽 taking everything apart, vacuuming steam cleaning polishing....hopefully without the need to explain to next door why its taking you 5 days to clean your new car.
Jim. Having owned one of these for 8 years a few pointers if you don’t mind.
1. The boot loom cables are stretched in normal operation. You can set the boot not to open fully.
2. Be careful washing the rear arches. The air vents in the rear bumper/wheel arch are known to come unglued and lead to the spare wheel flooding. There’s a fuse box in the rear offside , if that gets damaged it’s v expensive.
3. The washer bottle is in front offside wing. Check the wiring , water is known to wick up the wiring into the front fuse box and causes real serious issues. There are various fixes to keep these areas safe.
Commenting to boost this up.
Excellent tips 👌
Not known the boot loom in the sportbrake to fail🤔. Water can her into the the Rear junction box on the offside . Had mine for 3 yrs with none of the listed issues. Leather on the top of the door cards can have the glue fail leading to it going baggy.
I had that exact issue with the spare wheel flooding.
@@tonyford7987 I’ve had 3 all on warranty!
A mini series about bringing back the car to a life would get a warm welcome if you ask me. Somehow I'm utterly excited watching this neglected cat turning into a beauty.
We definitely need a mini series on this please!
What a beautiful car. Especially in red. It would be awesome to see a full interior detail of those red seats 👌
They are a pain to keep clean but look great.
Garage queen.. my E39 winter daily has less damage and half the gunk.. hope you got a good deal out of that but at the same time watching a really dirty car come back to life is more fun.
Keep up the good work and have a great summer Jim!
Hopefully the previous owner watches this and you demonstrate how to look after a car. Well done for making it a project, without a doubt it will look amazing once you’ve done your magic!
There's zero chance of previous owner watching these videos if that was his idea of cherished.
@@WestfieldFreshAir LOL. I think you have a good point there, although, to be fair that previous owner should be strapped to a chair and forced to watch - might learn a thing or two. It is a great looking car though. No question.😊
Great to see the great White Details using Garage Therapy products.....
Decon
Quick Detailer
And Tyre Serum....
The question is will the Jaguar be a purchase like the Volvo was three years ago. The jaguar is not a patch on the bmw but I remember watching the videos of you cleaning the bmw and if I remember it was clean but not Jim white clean and the Volvo was in the same condition as the jag green moss tar all over the car and very dirty but still in weeks to come we will all see this beautiful English rose look beautiful.
Need to have an owner reaction from Jim himself when it’s all sorted 😆
'Goodride' lol. Always amazing to see 'premium' cars with cheapskate tyres on - hopefully they didn't scrimp elsewhere with the likes of servicing etc. Keep up the good work Jim and one day I might have another nearly new car (probably a BMW again) for you to detail for me.
"Cherished" car with actual biological growth on it and budget brand tyres. It'll be over the moon to be in Jim's hands now and actually cared for.
I totally missed that. I thought it was a negative against Goodyear :D (I know some cars don't suite them)
Jim, your work is stellar......I always enjoy watching these.
Talk about a "blank check" detail!! 😅
No doubt you will bring that vehicle back to life!!
100% 💎
Congrats on the New daily. Looking forward to the series
amazing what a good wash and attention to detail can do for a neglected vehicle. Can't wait to see the full correction on it. Great job Jim
Your work is so thorough. It´s amazing. I love watching you.
Looking forward to seeing you correct and coat it soon. I’m sure it will look incredible!
Such a simple thing you can do that completely changes the look and feel of a vehicle. I'm excited for the interior refresh. You should do an interior white detail how to video.
Wow! A professional detailer finding time to detail his own vehicle! Great job, Jim! Looking great!
I'm sitting here watching this after getting rid of my f31 for a soon to be xf. I also love estates for exactly the same reasons, golf, fishing and my bike. Crazy similarities!!
Can’t wait to see this fully detailed 👌🏻
Nice first wash Jim, similar progress videos are a good idea
TBH, this is at a level that most people call clean, but the previous owner was having a laugh ! Some great gun technique :)
It looked pretty good with just that wash, I bet when the paint is corrected that red will really be wow! But I completely understand you going back to the BMW! The Ultimate Driving Machine!❤
In typical fashion, outstanding work and it’s only the beginning.
Lovely car. It takes a few washes etc before a car feels more like your own in my experience. It's going to look great after the bits of paint are sorted and your magic is applied.
Really enjoy the metamorphosis these cars go thru in your videos…dig the music, mellow and relaxing
Definetely love this style of video!
Great video Jim. Inspiration for us mortals to follow at home and some fantastic tips too. Am so grateful for your content, its led to much a more discerning eye when evaluating cars and prevented me from buggering up my own paintwork. 🍻
I don't believe there's a more satisfying job than removing moss from window rubbers 🤩
Bought mine, after a similar move from a 325d touring. The top rails are a massive dirt trap. The small window rear door seals will fall out with just light pressure as well, and are a pain to fit back in. But it’s a more relaxing place to do long journeys in, and the stereo sounds a lot better than a standard BMWs. Currently on 180k miles and it drives very well.
Wow you have inspected every bit of the car. Amazing work. The Jaguar is stunning will turn heads when you're done.
I notice with every process you do that it is planned, methodical, orderly, precise, and surgical like. Just how I like to work. 🙂👍
Keen to see how you tackle the area of lacquer peel.... as my daughters VW has the same on her front plastics, caused by a £1 shop bodyshop repair.
All the best. Have a good week. 🙂👍👋
Fantastic Mr White. Looking forward to seeing further progress on the new wagon
On the number plate tape application - I would recommend putting vertical strips rather than horizontal. If you do horizontal the water sits for longer and causes it to come unstuck more quickly, also means rubbish sits behind the plate more easily, whereas vertical it generally washes out better.
Neat trick jacking the car up for wheel, arch and caliper access! Never thought of it haha.
Looking forward to more videos of this car, thanks for yet another great video.
love the XF Sportbrake, looks so sleek and fresh!
Astonishing what a thorough wash can do, shame on the previous owner for neglecting the Jag to where it was. Really enjoy seeing you work on your own cars Jim, I'd much appreciate videos of the further progress 👍🏻
Cant wait to see this post polish, that colour's going to pop!
Jim, I love you. You bring so much joy and satisfaction with your videos! Looking forward to more videos of the Jag! Greetings from Holland
Excellent video as usual Jim, i loved my XFS and kept it in pristine condition it was only because the intercooler popped i ended up getting rid of it. I hope when you have finished working your magic you will feel better about the Jag and enjoy driving it for many years.
Lovely spec, just a month ago we had a meet in the Cotswolds, where we had 4 XFs attend including a silver Sportbrake. The video is uploaded on the page
I actually find these videos where one is polishing a turd, much better than the new car prep... Its great to see the transformation... BTW, I’m not suggesting the vehicle is bad. Just love the mega transformations. Will look forward to the next instalments including the interior - Let’s hope for some extraction work. 👍🏼👌🏼
Lovely first wash 😀 mini series would be a most welcome watch in the future 👍
How can anyone say this car was cherished and in good condition! Obviously you got it for a good price and it will get the White's detail.👍🔥
I definitely enjoy this one,I look forward to the exterior polish and interior detailing and and the choice of ceramic-coated
Incredible difference with a good wash, really looking forward to seeing the difference once full correction and polish has taken place. Amazing someone put that car up for sale in the condition it was in.
ic Love the XF S Sportbrake, the color and
interior color combo is just amazing! :D
Quite therapeutic to watch 👍
Stunning Jim👌
Looking forward to future episodes on this 👍
Love seeing a basket case! Generally everyone who books with you has a better starting point but this was truly a labor! I can’t imagine pouring yourself into this beauty and not getting attached. Good luck with the sale of the BMW!
My XF Sportbrake was the last car I ever took to the local scratch and shine.
I bought my 2013 plate XF S Sportbrake Portfolio on 36000, I traded it in on 100,000, serviced and maintained by The Jag Specialist in Doncaster (highly recommended) I never had a single issue with the car.
Great seeing you treating this car with some loving, should make some great content.
Goodride... says it all. I love the forst clean of a new to me car
Nice weapon that Jim great finally catching up at Waxstock hope your well Sir looking forward to see the Jag again on the channel 🙌🏻🇬🇧🙌🏻
The new ride looks nice Jim. Red with black wheels is one of my favorite combos. While you were washing, every bit of the cars surface was flat other than the windshield. It beaded water like it had a coating applied.
Gorgeous wagon!
looks a fantastic car now looking forward to the updates!
Great work it’s a good looking car, like the idea of the mini series .
I love these videos, cars owned by the pro himself 👍🏻 how the seller thought they could get away with listing it as they did when it’d obviously been parked under a tree and never given a proper wash 🤔 looks SO much better now and can’t wait for the next instalment 👍🏻
Another great episode!!! Your “basic wash” is far superior than your average car owner would do. They would take it to the wash n scratch or a bucket of dish soap and a sponge and call it a day.
Keep up the quality work your techniques are the best…I’m learning from you
Good JOB !!
Love that colour!! I had the X260 XF saloon in Italian racing Red. God I miss that car!! :)
Glad to see it's not just me finding it painful cleaning the windshield from the inside. 😄
Stunning looking new work wagon. I think the paint will take on a totally different tone if you get time to correct it - you could see inside under the lights how swirled up it is, it's making it look much pinker than it should be.
love the car and looked at these before buying a 5 series. Mini series sounds like a great idea too! look forward to future videos.
Congrats on your new to you daily driver!
Need to see this much more than other cars please.... We need to see how a detailer treats his own wheels! Awesome
Beautiful cat there Jim, had the X-Type sport est myself years ago, superb ride.
GREAT JOB BUD 👍👍LOVE THE COLOUR ❤️❤️GREAT LOOKING VEHICLE 😀😀
Looking forward to seeing the results of some paint correction and polishing on your car.
Cool new car Jim. Love that unique color too! Enjoy
A sign that you are getting older Jim, Golf clubs, Jaguar lol. Nice work mate.
Wouldn’t normally comment on any UA-cam video to be honest, but a mini series on this would be ace! Congratulations on the new purchase 👍
Lovely car Jim, one of my favourite estate cars in the best colour in my opinion. Absolutely gorgeous... I'd definitely look forward to a mini series showing the detailing progress if you manage to do one 😁
Surprised, but glad you purchased the Jaguar. As the Premier Detailer in my opinion on UA-cam, I enjoy watching a unloved car get the best care. Look forward for more Jim.
Can't wait to see how this turns out in the future.
I did the exact opposite-went from an XF Sportbrake to a 330d Touring! I decided I didn't need such a big barge, and while I appreciate the BMW's agility and smaller proportions on twisty Irish roads, I really miss the refinement of the Jag.
You are a braver Man than me Jim I’d have walked as soon as I’d seen it no doubt you will sort it though good showcase to show your undoubted skills and patience
I just got more interested in detailing after buying an XE-S about a month ago.. Eager to follow along 👍
Hi Jim, great video as usual, can you tell me which wash mitts you prefer?
That is a really nice car... One thing for sure. That Italian Racing Red is beautiful in the flesh, so I cant wait to see how it looks after a full blown 'White Detail' correction & coating... Nice video 👍🏻
Nice new car, great video
Lots to keep you busy on the new car Jim. Lovely car!
Best wishes for the new car!
Parabéns pela nova aquisição. Abraços do 🔰Brasil
Nice episode Jim, would enjoy a mini series on this in amongst the customer details. 👍🏻
I absolutely love the new daily. 😍
Lovely looking car and colour Jim
That is a very nice looking car in a gorgeous colour, good choice
this car was abused by the previous owner. Glad to see you bring it back to life. Once machine polished, this car will look better than brand new.
Oh, man. Been there, done that. You buy a car that seems appealing and it's potentially the car you've been after for a while, so you really want it. Upon finding an example, you realize it's simply not up to your standard. You take it home thinking you've struck a bargain and, after closer inspection, you find more scratches, missing paint, interior damage, even mechanical problems. To bring it up to your standard then, you would have to put in inordinate amounts of work, time and money and it might simply not be worth it. At least that's been my experience. I'm not trying to be a downer, simply hoping to save some heartache to those out there just starting out on their journey of being proud car guys.
Lovely car Jim, really like these..!
Really like these. Might pick one up for a Mike muncher next year. Can’t wait to see what it turns out like after a proper correction.
Very beauty colour!
Amazing video, I really want one of these I think it’ll be my next car.
When you do the polishing, please do a video, as a fellow detailer I’d love to see the process you use and the end result of that beautiful colour 👍🏻
Great vid! What do you use on those exhaust tips? Many thanks.
