And as if killing him wasn't bad enough he gets blamed for everything. Vernestra tells everyone he murdered the other Jedi, then killed himself.

Yeah that pissed me off
Yeah he didn't deserve to take the blame and it was wrong to kill him but he needed to pay for his own crimes, it kind of became clear near the end of the show that he was kind of obsessed with proving that vergence and doing anything he could to get what he wanted and using Osha's wellbeing as a justification.

Sol could’ve explained that OSHA’s dark side witch mother turned into a being of smoke and appeared to be evaporating her sister so he struck her down in defense of Mae. But no he just decides to keep it so vague that he looks like a villain

@@wolfofwarframe3807 In the new canon yeah, but Revenge of the Sith still blatantly contradicts the manner in where they show bleeding the crystal here. If the blade itself turns from blue to red because the user has hate just like that, we would have seen Anakin's turn red easily.
*Edit:* Some people have pointed out that Anakin was not directly touching his lightsaber crystal. This is true, but I have to point out that other sources demonstrated that bleeding a crystal is *very* hard to do. It requires major introspection, hardening your heart, truly and deliberately selling your soul to the Dark Side. It's not something that is done by accident as we see in this show.

Osha stops Sol from killing Qimir who just killed all her friends but has no hesitation killing her adoptive father after one day away from him. Seems legit.
Yeah. I could get behind this exact death scene if it felt more earned. As it stands it feels weirdly open ended and disrespectful to the absolute work that Lee Jung Jae put into salvaging this show with Sol😭
To be fair it was her Mum that Soi lied about for years and put the blame on her sister and was very emotional about that but your point is still valid

Well, he didn’t fall until revenge of the Sith - and you have to have more access to the kyber crystal in a lightsaber for the color to change… and Mae cracked Sol’s, that’s the only reason it was able to change color.
it's a sith rite of passage in Disney Canon. to kill a jedi take their kyber crystal from their saber. and pour all their anger and hate into the it. corrupting it and turning it red. it's called bleeding. it's one of the cooler elements introduced anyway Oshas hate and rage were so powerful at that moment after finding out the truth she accidently bled Sols crystal when she was choking him. it's her saber now
Direct contact with the Kyber Crystal is necessary. Sol’s saber was damaged and the crystal was exposed. If not for that, the saber would remain blue.

I'm not mad at where they're attempting to go with the series, but I don't think we have anyone to anchor us down for a season 2 without Sol.
Honestly if they greenlight a Season 2, they'll probably rope people in with legacy characters like Plagueis and Yoda like they did just now.

She's like doing nothing and surprised for the last half of the transformation. Didn't realize it took 0 effort to bleed a crystal while it took Vader an extensive amount of thought and a trial within his own mind.
Dagan Gera in Jedi Fallen order was trapped for mannyyyy years with all that time to think and seemingly fully given into the darkside by the point he was released making his fast and concise transformation make sense.
Osha's transformation is a complete and utter joke. Beyond awful show.
@@cael4065This is a huge flaw. It takes a lot of hate to bleed a kyber crystal and it is a long process. If you read how Vader bled his saber you would not call this process 'flawless' in this show. In addition to that the light saber doesn't glow blue and slowly turn red... what f'n bs lol.

Just thought of something. Vernestra tells everyone Sol snapped and killed the other Jedi. Which is a massive plot hole. We have an eye witness who saw Mae kill Indarna. Not to mention it would have been impossible for him to kill Torbin as he was already dead when Sol arrived. The other Jedi there at the temple know that

I was a little annoyed about how easily OSHA was able to bleed the Kyber crystal. In the comics it is the big test into becoming a dark force user and it takes a lot of effort and concentration. And she just does it in two seconds kinda spoils the moments.

@@fulcrumvanitas5078 yeah for sure but Dagan is an extremely powerful forced user compared to most. He was stated to be one of the best Jedi in the high republic. Osha is not particularly powerful. Also Dagan actually showed focus when channeling all his rage to bleed his crystal. OSHA an average or arguably slightly below average in the force just randomly bleed her crystal just by getting emotional. It makes not sense.
It’s because of the convergence. Her powers makes her extremely more skilled to open up abilities more advanced than typical force users. The fact Osha can do it now like this shows just how powerful she’ll become in the future.
In all honesty yes it does require a lot of effort and concentration but to be fair it was her anger and hatred that turned the saber into red so easily

Not really. Osha was already filled with hatred after the massacre in khofar. Not to mention she was already troubled for what happened in brendok, the reason she couldn't become a jedi. Except she hated mae for that. Qimir was able to manipulate her since she was very emotionally vulnerable. So when she found out it was sol who killed her mother, she only redirected that hatred from mae to him. Except it was even worse now, cause while she always knew mae was evil, she never saw that coming from sol. So imagine all the rage she felt... after all, she was able to bleed a kyber crystal.

I don’t think so - I think she’s had this hatred since “the fire.” Then, when we see her release it at Mae, she learns it needs to be released on someone else’s… and he’s been deceitful about it all along to boot. She just finally gives in - it wasn’t sudden, it was 16 years coming.
I actually agree with this, she had way too much animosity towards her sister for her to just immediately go to killing Sol. I think it also could have been established a bit earlier how much the death of her mother made her angry, they kinda do that but at the very last episode.
Sooooooo…. I am supposed to feel glad Sol is dead and cheer for Osha? Cause right now I feel bad for Sol cause the ending of the show would not have changed if they didn’t kill Sol. (Not to mention Osha just forgives Maye seconds after, even though she started a fire that and also was trying to stop her from becoming a Jedi and she just forgets that)

Guys please help me out, I think Sol's character and actor was very tolerable. They just gave him poor dialogues, poor reasons to act, and his death wasn't even justifiable... I sincerely hope his legacy is not tarnished by this.

I liked his acting for sure. I do agree the story and dialogue needed more work. BUTTT, his thick accent does get in the way of important dialogue. I'm Asian, and even I was struggling at times without the help of subtitles.

So my issue with this is:
- Sol, a Jedi master, is able to get force choked by a young girl who's been cut off from the force for years. (doesn't osha try to use the force on that prison transfer ship but can't?)
- just a couple days before this happens, Osha stops Sol from killing Qimir after watching her friends get slaughtered.
- Every time Sol was about to explain something further, he was interrupted by either being stunned or shocked or in this instance, choked. that being said, Sol could have made the argument towards Mae/Osha that what Mae saw was out of context. She is focused on the fact that he killed her mom and not WHY he did it and not the fact that he instantly regretted it. I find it a little weird that a character like Sol, who is a caring person, wouldn't explain what happened to Osha in those final moments. Why wouldn't he say something like "Osha we came with no intention of harming anyone, BUT Korrill and Torbin got aggressive, and your mother turned into a dark cloud thing, so I stabbed her because It seemed like she was going to attack us. I regret it." This could have been better than him saying "I did the right thing" like 5 times.
I really enjoyed this show. But I just feel like they handled this Sol/ witch coven situation sorta poorly and did what was convenient for the push of Osha turning to the dark side rather than digging deeper if that makes any sense. RIP SOL!

The crystals from sith were artificial ones and not true kyber. Even if it bleeds, this was too fast and painless. In the comics, it takes a lot of effort to do . Here it took an instant, very sloppy

How is impossible, how the blue crystal changes color into red, it’s not possible, crystal cannot change color
I love how she literally bleeds her kyber crystal within the lightsaber in real time as she kills Sol. That was badass to see blue turn to red like that. Seeing someone fall to the Dark Side in real time in such a visual way is cool as hell.
Probably one of the best parts of the season besides the fights because every fight here was 10x better than the sequels

Meh, I have to agree. I mean the writing is bad but Manny Jacinto is doing a pretty solid job with what little he's given. I wonder if Mae/Osha would have been more interesting if played by a more accomplished actor, someone who would play the twins differently and show more emotion overall.

If her lightsaber turned red from just doing thing, Anakin's would have turned red as well in Revenge of the Sith. This is blatantly canon breaking.
There has to be access to the crystal in the saber… and Mae cracked Sol’s when she threw it… Anakin’s wasn’t cracked so it stayed blue.

Glad other people are also thinking that the Osha/Mae actress is so bad. She has the same expressions throughout the series.
In comparison look at the range of Anakin's emotions. When he sees Padme at the beginning his face lights up with love for her. At the end when he sees Obi Wan his anger is so visible you think he will snap any second.
I love how you can see the Kyber Crystal BLEED. It’s badazz and hoping one day they can create a visual on ‘purifying’ a bloodied crystal.

Saving her to kill her in the end, would be far more emotional! Anyway….If there’s a season 2, there’s absolutely no reason to watch it, cause the one character I cared for, it’s gone.

There’s a lot of things I didn’t like about the show for sure but, given Leslye’s work on “Russian Doll”, I was definitely expecting a twisty finale. For some reason I always thought Sol would turn into the dark side.
Master Sol was awesome and a great Jedi. He beat the stranger twice and Osha is able to destroy him like that? I like the show but come on not realistic. Also Sol could have led by saying the witches looked like they were going to attack so he had to defend himself.
Sol allowed Osha to kill him on purpose. With the other thing, I completely agree. Plus he should have apologized
I guess this is another jedi that cound't control his emotions ( the main fault of the jedi) he was trained to not feel, but he felt guilty, and in the end he let Osha kill him ( i want to think that)
It wasn't a bad ending for him as a character, at least due the best character of this show died, now they can't screw him xd.

I know I don't Have a pattent how lightsabers work but This contradicts all physical aspects of the weapon. Lucas couldn't use such a cheap silly thing to turn Anakin lightsaber red So you reckognize his fall to the dark side. There was JUST authentic emotions.

I’m sad about this series. It had so much potential, but it just remained as an average show. At least it’s not the worst disney made with star wars

The saber bleeding has a HUGE issue. She has to know how to do that, and obviously the Jedi didn’t teach her, Qimir didn’t either. Anakin’s saber didn’t even bleed. It’s like Disney literally doesn’t care about anything lol
