    I’ve watched so many reviews on these palettes and yours was the most comprehensive and helpful! Amazing!!
    I bought 100 and 300 and love them. I was also going to go back and get a pink, but now I think I’ll go with 200.
    Thank you for such a detailed video! I’m subscribing right now, too!

      With so many "pinkish" palettes to choose from, it's hard to choose based on just the promo pictures. So I'm very glad that I was able to help! I hope you enjoy it as much as you like 100 and 300! And thank you so much for the sub! 💛

    your reviews of all this palettes was amazing, so helpful, but I might say that in the previous video that I saw of you doing another reviews, when you mentioned that eyeshadows are only dust that just help me realize that I do have so many eyeshadows that I do not need these ones. What a great in-depth review! I have Gueliz Dream and I got this just for the reasons you mention. Most neutral pink of all the pinks and 3 of those lovely mattes. The glitter I completely agree, it’s a fall out “rock start” messy situation rather quickly :) I quite like it too despite that, but maybe best for more informal days.

      Whichever one you choose, be careful when opening it. All of the palettes I had eventually had the same issues as the Stora Dolls colorway: the pans fell out of the package. It was easy to fix with a little bit of glue, but hopefully knowing it could happen will prevent the eyeshadows from ending up on your floor.

    A 40-minute video from Stephanie: what a lovely treat for us! And wow, what a phenomenal review! So...these are some of the items from the mystery box, hey? My curiosity is simultaneously satisfied yet strengthened. 😉
    What a shame about the glitter fallout, and "fairy dandruff" is one of the most entertaining descriptions of makeup I've heard in a long time. Gueliz Dream and Medina Glow stand out to me the most in terms of their colour story, and the packaging for all of the quads looks divine! I can definitely see what you mean in terms of those matte shades. I'm curious to swatch them in store just so I can feel that luscious texture you describe!
    I admire the attention you detail you presented throughout the whole video from your swatches, comparisons, editing, and concise yet detailed descriptions. Bravo! It's so lovely to watch your videos. Thank you for brightening my Thursday! 💕

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Рік тому

      Yes! Some of the items in the mystery box have now been revealed! 😂 It was so much fun to get a chance to play with them.
      Yes, the glitter fallout is a shame. But perhaps it's just the nature of the beast because I don't know that I've ever used a truly glittery shade without getting "fairy dandruff". Gueliz Dream might just be the overlap between the two of us: my love of neutralness, your love of color! 😂 And the packaging of these products really is something special. Whoever did the concept work deserves a raise.
      Thanks for brightening my day with such a kind and thoughtful comment! It's always lovely to "hang out" with you!

    I think the shadows falling out might be a Stora Dolls issue, because the same thing happened to me as soon as I opened it. 😅 I tipped it over to remove the little brushes inside and just like that the shadows landed in my hand.
    I was sent the palette by YSL so it didn’t bother me too much, but for the price it’s definitely not something you want happening.
    I was thinking of purchasing the blue one in the future as I’m really enjoying this shadow formula, but this threw me off a little. 😓
    Thank you for the in-depth review! ❤

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Рік тому +1

      I agree with you - several people have messaged me saying that the same thing happened with their Stora Dolls palette. I know it's a minor, first-world problem, but disappointing nonetheless!
      That blue one does look lovely! But I don't think it will be for me since it looks like the darkest shade is a sequin shadow, and I'd much prefer that beautiful matte formula instead.
      Thanks for taking a moment to say hello! It was lovely to hear from you.

    I love this! Could you help me find an eyeshadow that has more longevity? Especially for a black and dark brown, everything I have fades quick (I got the 500, also from other brands)😅 I like cool tones and hate glitter.
    I was thinking with buying the over noir and the 200, but I’m afraid it wouldn’t last too!

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  2 дні тому

      I'll do my best! ;-) If the formula of hte 500 quad doesn't work for you, I would avoid the other palettes, because the formulas are very similar and will give you the same issues.
      My first question is: do you use an eyeshadow primer? I have oily, deep-set, hooded eyes, and the only way ANY eyeshadow will stay on me is usually with a primer. Different formulas work for different people, depending on their body chemistry. I've had the most success with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
      As for eyeshadows with the most longevity:
      the Lancome Color Design Eye Brightening All-In-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes work extremely well for me. And most of them don't have any glitter (I believe only the "Smokey Chic" one does) so they may be a better match for you than the YSL quads. I hope that helps!

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Рік тому

      The matte formula is definitely my favorite, so I’m a fan of 300, but the following might help to inform your decision: the light cream color and the dark brown are neutral. The gold is also neutral (for a gold). But the mid-toned shade is warm. I would describe it as toasted apricot.

    On a skintone like mine, I think every palette can work, it just depends on how you were you eyeshadow. On me, for exemple, the 6 palettes you showed would be an ashy mess for the most part, with maybe z few eyeshadow looking good. My mom, though, would probably use every shadows because she pretty much doesn't find anything too light for her skintone (which I can't understand how)

    What would Babylon roses compare the most to in some existing pinky luxury palettes around? I’m super curious

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Рік тому

      In person, Babylone Roses leans more mauve than pink - if anything, it's a very dusty rose. So it almost reminds me a bit of the DIOR Backstage 002 Cool Neutrals palette. They certainly aren't dupes, but they have similar vibes. It also seems to be YSL's more monochrome version of Pat McGrath's Divine Rose I palette. Also not dupes, but similar vibes.

      Hi Eleni! I'm so glad you found it helpful! I haven't tried Tom Ford Golden Mink, but based on reviews I've seen of it and my experience with other Tom Ford palettes, I think the YSL glitter topper is probably quite similar. It looks like the YSL topper might be more of a "party animal" with slightly more pronounced glitters. Both Golden Mink and Kasbah Spices would give you a sophisticated look, but I believe the YSL palette is probably a bit more impactful in general.

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Рік тому +1

      PS I also haven't tried the Desert Nudes in the big clutch palette, but based on reviews I've seen and the way people discussed it, it sounds like these might be a new formula with softer-pressed, creamier mattes.

      @@roaroa5291 That is definitely an advantage of hooded lids - we're usually the only ones who notice the creasing.

    6 YSL palettes... That's a lot of lux.
    From your description of the sequin eye shadows, it sounds like, at least on the formula side that it is a half measure that the company decided to go with because they couldn't find a good way to finish out the quad. To achieve a sense of balance, a good quad anything should either be designed in a strong 2+2 or 3+1 orientation. In this instance it sounds like YSL couldn't do the math.
    The issue of fallout and long wear with glitter seems to me to be the result of the the application versus the nature of the substance. Makeup is ideally a stay where you put it product, and glitter just inherently gets everywhere.
    Objectively reviewing this video, I was amazed by how informative it is. The balance between discussing formulas and color stories is well achieved. I was able to gain understanding through the context of your discussion in each segment. All the swatches showed up really well on camera and I amazed how different some of the colors are from seeing them in the pan to the swatch. The texture, depth, and movement is really something. You also did really good when prefacing some of your remarks to provide understanding and not overreach instead of trying to act as an ultimate authority, which is a pitfall well avoided. The length of the video befits the content presented as well.
    My sense of anticipation is sated, which is high praise considering I saw the notification for this video basically when I first woke up and could not watch it until much later in the day.
    I feel a hearty Bravo and Well Done is well earned. 👏👏👏👏

      Yeah... sequin shadows just are NOT my jam. I keep waiting for someone to enlighten me in the comments, tell me how to use them. Maybe I'm missing out on the best eyeshadow experience of my life! 😂
      You are so very right about glitter. It is quantum-level spooky. It is both on my eyes and on my cheeks (and on my shirt and my dinner and my car...)
      Thank you for always providing such great feedback! You've definitely helped me get better at making these. And yes! Isn't it weird how some colors looks so dramatically different on the skin than they do in the pan? That's why it's so easy to make a misstep when buying makeup! It's sneaky.

      Knowing how colors can shift and look different, I would imagine it adds a challenge to buying makeup. I can imagine that from looking at photos online to seeing it in a store to getting the product home, the color can change in a big way and not always for good.

      That would be ideal. Unfortunately these were just broken and they don't sell refills (the adhesive residue says it all). I'll be "upgrading" mine with magnets to repair them and make them more functional.

    I got the Babylone Roses quad & it is one of the best purchases i have made so fsr this year!! I haven't had any fallout with it but i do use the included sponges & press instead of swipe... it's a gorgeous color story!! 💞🩷💞🩷

      That Babylone Roses is beautiful. I didn't try the sponges - maybe that would prevent the fallout. Thanks for the tip and for taking a moment to say hi! 💞
