Ya that was a big win for sure!
Hi bro. I have a 2000 Ford Excursion XLT 6.8 V10.
Welcome to the channel family!
You got some work to do. Love the bobbed x!
Ya… needs some love now but I’ll get it back, and make it better😎
Love the one take 😂
Glad that’s enjoyable for ya’ll…. I mess up a lot🤪
not the frame!!
Ya… needs some boxing, nothing I can’t fix!
This is probably why the 05-07 had the reinforcements just fwd of there. I always wondered when researching the swap on how it would hold up when pushed without the boxing. Keep up the good work
The reinforcements as far as I know are only for the crossmember area, I actually crawled under my buddies 14 and it has not boxing in this area either.... but I don't think Ford intended for someone to do what I am doing with this truck....🙃
@@Geeks4x4 correct, but there was a diagram floating around that showed rotational load and stress points and why ford selected there to add it. Man wish I could find it again lol
Also true pushing a rig like that, but man who doesn't want to!
Ya the rotational force is one thing but sliding the whole truck on non factory 4 link bars down rock faces probably wasn’t accounted for🤪 don’t think their gussets would have helped in my case. They are more for the main load point which is the coils. Which is also why I like the PMF brackets over factory, much thicker steel spreading the load more evenly.
Fun recap.
It was a great trip… got some stuff to get fixed tho😎
😪Always somethin' - Mines been good so far, the factory link mounts hit the side of the frame not the flange. How did your coil buckets hold, that where the real load is.
haven't noticed any issues with the coil buckets, again this is 100% my fault, and the PMF brackets didn't fail at all... the frame just isn't quite strong enough to have that much force dragging over rocks!
@@Geeks4x4 Impressive! you must have been sending it pretty good 🤣
Just the shear weight of the truck sliding (on the control arms) down big rock faces... tried to be gentle but shes a big girl.
porta power them straight and add some gussets. or replace those brackets with something beefier.
That’s the plan… brackets didn’t bend but they need some sort of double sheer for my purposes…. She’s a heavy gal on the trail🤪
