  • How can we multiply 3 x 0.9 using the traditional method of multiplication? Take a look.
    Remember: ONES X TENTHS = TENTHS
    Decimals don't actually "move" even though most textbooks say they do. When I multiply 3 by 0.9, my product is 2.7. That means 2.7 is three times bigger than 0.9. Decimals didn't move. Numbers became larger and moved to larger place values.
