In my experience, theoretically, you don't need any items or special skill except for whirlwind to get up to Mithrix. There's a slanted pillar on one side of the map, I just whirlwind "trimp" against it. It launched me all the way up. If it doesn't, you can dash and special to reach tree.
hell yeah, peak editing humour around my favourite swordman. I'd like to add that whirlwind's ground mobility and slow cooldown make it great for dodging wisps and slicing winds also fall cancels. I've seen other people here say how attack speed is bad as it makes the M1 extend tech harder which I agree with but I think the limit is dependent on the player and their skill with it.

DO NOT USE ATTACK SPEED WITH MERC Too much attack speed makes so that you can no longer do the dash-slice as too many stacks will make the lingering hitbox last much shorter, just one syringe is okay but I'd be careful picking up any more after that
There comes a point where you probably won't want to be staring an enemy in tje face doing slashes before finally getting the dash s, and instead more attack speed gets you more eviscerate hits. Just stack some cooldown reduction and you're invincible anyway
do not stack atk speed on merc because it lessens the frame times for his third slash which makes it a lot harder to do the slash/dash or slash/whirlwind combo
One shotting the flying enemies with the bosses can be consistent if you just try to make merc's model end up inside the boss's model at the end of your dash. If you dash too close to them it usually fails if you aren't at a perfect angle.
Attack speed on merc IS still good, since if you're attacking so fast you'll be proc'ing the 3rd hit expose really fast anyways when you're holding the prinay down the whole time when you're using your skills, so feel free going ham on attackspeed and make vergil proud with your evisceration/slicing winds
Just be careful with whirlwind on eclipse 5+. You can, for some reason, just straight up kill yourself on slopes when using it due to fall damage being lethal on eclipse 5+

Yeah 22% attack speed is around the point you wanna stop taking more, which is 3 mochas or 1 mocha and 1 syringe
