If Valentina can maintain her distance and control the range in addition to stuffing Erin’s early takedowns she will most likely win. If Erin can get an early takedown it will give her the best possibility to win. Otherwise Valentina is a much better striker with who is faster and able to utilize a greater variety of punches and kicks. Jessica is a decent fighter for that division but her striking is sloppy and wild, it’s not even close to Valentina’s.
Same could be said about Erin’s stand up

It's amazing to me that people are doubting Valentina shevchenko! If she didn't have a close fight against Santos the narrative be different. Valentina is to fast, to smart and to well rounded. Bullet will beat all these girls period.
They all talk greasy before they fight her and leave eating their own words. I think Erin will make it interesting though.
Santos couldn't even pull a submission finish on valentina she tried for 5 rounds, and that's all she did. Valentina isn't easy to pull a sub win. And now this tramp thinks she's better.
MMA fans can’t think complex thoughts. To them, fighters are only as good as their last performance.
Remember, this is MMA. Anybody can lose on any given day. Valentina and Amanda Nunes has losses on their record so if Valentina don't lose to Grasso, she certainly can lose to Erin Blanchfield. Besides, I wanted Erin to fight Maycee barber because I think might be some beef between those two.

Pena actually did great against Nunes and submitted her but right about her looking like a white belt against Valentina. Black belts and the belts in general in MMA are extremely overrated anyway unless you're Oliveira...

Erin couldn't take Andrade down for the full first round even Andrade wasn't 100% and Valentina took her down with relative ease.

I like Erin but she should take a step back from the big comments. Her striking needs improving 100%, and she should not underestimate Shevchenko.
Although I still have Shevchenko winning, Erin certainly will be amongst the top half of the division for quite sometime. A fan of both!

Bro Erin is legit grappler. Again, she handled Andrade and finished her even faster then Valentina did. I think Valentina would butcher just about anyone in a pure striking fight, even nunes I’d favor Valentina in, and she has functional grappling but she isn’t this world class elite grappler who can just smash anyone. That santos fight wasn’t just an off night, she had holes in her game exposed. The question is will Valentina now that she’s had those aspects of her game tested will she let it get to that point, idk, and it’s a big mountain to climb but y’all are out of your mind if you think Erin doesn’t have a chance because this girl is legit and a great grappler and a tough matchup for anyone. It isn’t like Valentina is out there one shot sleeping chicks like nunes does, and Erin’s stand up is effective as well even if Valentina is lightyears ahead of everyone there

Erin had a competitive first round with Andrade and Andrade started to land her power shorts towards the end of the first that were stoping Erin from advancing. Let alone, the strikes were very close when you look at the stats.
Valentina never even let Andrade get off her offense what so ever. Just mauled from beginning to end

Her vs valentina will be good. I can see that going a lot of different ways.
Valentina would butcher her on the feet. Santos only had success vs VS because she's so physically strong which I'm not sure Erin is.
I'm really not liking the disrespect to Valentina from these upstarts. I think a lot of people, Erin included, forget how decorated and dominant Shevchenko is. I don't see her winning against, arguably, the greatest female fighter of all time, but they have to hype themselves up somehow.

I don't see the Bullet having any problems with Erin's wrestling at all. She did well against Nunes, people are forgetting that Val is on Volk level in terms of well roundedness, maybe even better.

Valentina is still the best, I believe. But she does seem to have lost a step, especially after losing to Alexa. She actually looked tired in that fight, which is new. I think she wins the title back, but if she fights Erin, all bets are off. Erin seems unstoppable at the moment. She had an easy win over Andrade and she is still growing as a fighter.
No one is beating Shevchenko anytime soon. .. plus her ground game is solid enough to be an issue if she gets on top. So this poor girl here is just gonna be another victim. ...

That was a different era, the wave of fighters that came after she lost the belt were on another level, Amanda, Holly, Valentina, the list goes on, women Ronda fought were hella basic, Liz, Miesha, and those other ones. I love Ronda, but she lost to Holly and Amanda, Valentina(17 time Muay Thai World Champion) beat Holly(18 time boxing World Champion) and made it look easy outclassed her in striking and took over the fight. Valentina loss two decisions to Amanda and stood toe to toe with her throwing strikes while all the others left on a stretcher or beaten and bruised. So yeah Uhmm do some history on their careers before comparing please and thank you 🙏🏾.

I agree sheva's grappling is basic, but that doesnt mean it isnt good, as far as I can see shes very very good at the basics, which is what wins fights.

With all due respect Andrade landed great shots and defended takedowns well in the first round.
With that being said, Valentina will be harder to takedown and will be hitting her with a plethora of attacks.
Not to mention Valentina fought a dangerous and bigger wrestler in Nunez.
Wish to get this fight after Valentina vs Grasso. Everyone has a plan and vision till they are in the cage.

But the second Erin had alot of people walking around with egg on their faces when she made Andrade tap out, the narrative switched Andrade fought on short notice.

I think she's made the most convincing argument so far. By combining her performance and her calling the Champ's grappling basic, it's a great start to building the fight

Not that I think Andrade is very good but she did take this last minute and likely wasn't 100%. I like Erin a lot but Shev is going to be a wake up call. The highest percentage Jiu jitsu in MMA is basic..because it's effective and you don't need anything fancy. Grappling with strikes is completely different.
She seemed very relaxed, as opposed to being seemingly up tight while being interviewed by DC and RC. Wow. What is that all about?

How many times do we need to learn the same lesson? When someone is such a feared grappler, their striking succeeds. Valentina will be drilling TD defense tirelessy all camp. All she’ll be thinking or dreaming about is defending the incoming takedowns. So much so, that Erin will have success on the feet. Even though Valentina is the better striker.
