@@newyorkrich YEah, but for a guy doing it for the first time and sharing that information I would have cut it big enough to for sure be able to fix it because reattaching one piece is a whole lot easier than trying to piece together several and keep some structural integrity. Just saying.
Yes Danny, the hole must be cut. There are 2 tabs that are pressed down to release the canister that are on the bottom of the canister. Also, there is not enough clearance to remove the canister.
If you take it to a dealership, they will charge you for dropping the gas tank from the bottom of the car which is expensive. This is why people cut the hole in the top of trunk to replace.
Hi McLean, yes I had to clean out the charcoal debris. Please see this video , ua-cam.com/video/FhncW0ImGII/v-deo.html , for the clean-up. All was good after the replacement of the canister and clearing out the lines.
Thanks man! Appreciate it! Cut the crap out of that fiberglass lol
I know, it's kind of nuts to do that.

very well done
Thanks for the visit
isn it possible to do it without cutting
How did it turn out reattaching the cover you cut off and what worked gluing or fastening it?
I used black goop or any product thant binds to plastic and fiberglass.
Is it mandatory to cut that hole in order to have access to replace the canister or can you go in from the other way. Also thanks for the video

Were you able to get a fill up afterwards and experience no problems? Is there a place where you have to clear out residual charcoal?

Thanks for watching.
How much was the part?
Which one. The solenoid was cheap less than $20, the canister will run around $100
Or fuel pump fuse
What kind of problem filling gas tank?
The tank won't accept fuel, causing the gasoline pump nozzle to shut off .
@@newyorkrich after change the canister the problem solved? THANKs.
It's the fuel pump
