The amount of history and heritage complementing the scenic locales is overwhelmingly rich...not to be confused with the narrator...I'm pretty sure. It's no wonder The Lord of the Rings franchise had so much richness in its production value on top of what J.R.R. Tolken already had to provide them.

We defiantly had fun on that voyage 😍
So sorry you could not get into Napier, the Art Deco capital of the world due to them having an earthquake in the 1930s and so all the rebuild was during this period, the Art Deco period. Beautiful buildings. We had a walking tour there by my Māori friend who volunteers there.
Already planning a return trip to New Zealand so hopefully we’ll get to Napier next time 👍😁

Like you, we like the Vista class as well. We did Alaska on the HAL Zuiderdam and loved the ship and the cruise. Perfect size for us.

Quick unrelated Question if I may.
On Regent for the first time in a couple of weeks (Seven Seas Splendor) can you order Champagne to the suite like you can on Silversea?
Well our wonderful butler made sure there was always a bottle of champagne in our fridge without us even asking so yes, we assume so 😁👍

'Shutting and pussing' is an accent thing, when you consider they pronounce their 'i' as a 'u' sound then the reference to the rain becomes obvious.

I hope they did a safety drill before you kayaked as if you capsized you have to have the presence of mind to get that skirt off. I could never do that, way too scared. Quite dangerous, especially if not a good swimmer. Glad you are both ok.
Yes we had a full briefing before and our guide was very attentive and a very strong kayaker so that put us at ease - though as you say we were very conscious of safety the whole time we were at sea. But it was great fun and the weather was perfect. Picton is stunning.

It didn’t dampen our spirits at all at Hobbiton where it was really only a light drizzle and we had such a fabulous time we hardly noticed the weather. It was later in Tauranga when it absolutely fell down and we got soaked 😆
