Yes, we returned on a land tour about two weeks after our cruise there and it literally stopped raining as we boarded the boat to do the tour so the waterfalls were incredible. We document it ⬇️ if you’d like to watch that one ua-cam.com/video/gyCXbMtwTbA/v-deo.htmlsi=JnXrBE5MWZ32w4J9 Thank you 🤩
I’m not going to dwell too much on your reference of the bagpipes being a ‘not pretty sound’, ha! Also, great to see you sailing from the other Sydney terminal - the ‘not sailing under the bridge’ was disappointing for me leaving Sydney, so I’m glad to see it through your camera. You also got MUCH better weather than I did…!!
Oh. Those mountains are really the most! And the perfect ship to be able to see them without tall glass walls or cluttered deck layers with all kinds of tom-foolery obscuring a wide, open view like on some of the newest ships, that, although larger, are somehow strangely claustrophobic in many ways. I don’t mean to complain - well, that’s not true. I do prefer the refreshing open decks of many of the now-considered, “older mid-sized” cruise ships. New Zealand and Australia have become a must for me one day eventually. They really do appear to have everything. This looks like the absolutely perfect cruise to see so very much of it. Wasn’t expecting Scotland!
the Valentine's menu was dated 14 Feb. 2023...if that is correct, I was on a ship in the Tasman Sea at the same time as you were. We were forced to quickly depart New Zealand early due to a cyclone, so we high-tailed it towards Melbourne. I too was amazed at how smooth the seas were after the horror stories I had heard 😨😨😬😬🤢🤢🤢🤢 and was very grateful
I think you may have been in the cruise before us because we sailed from Sydney to Auckland and it sound like you did the reverse 🤷 But it sounds like we were both lucky with the Tasman sea 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Awww bless ya Rich and Helen for flying economy and enduring discomfort so that your children will fly first class with their inheritance 😂😂😂. You’re much kinder than I am 🧐. Looking forward to part 2 👍🏻
Another great video. We just got off the Noordam, sailing from Sydney to Auckland in February. We did not go to Melbourne or Tasmania but had more stops and longer stops in New Zealand. We watched your other videos from last year, the ship tour and dining guide. They were very helpful. We were lucky and upgraded to a Neptune Suite at an unbelievable price a few weeks before our cruise. We had our first meal at the Pinnacle Grill and it was fantastic. Being in a Neptune Suite, we also had each breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill, quite a perk. I can’t agree with you more, the sail away from Sydney and the White Bay Terminal in as good as it gets. I highly recommend this cruise and Holland American Line for an absolutely great cruising experience! Look forward to your next video. BTW, taking your advice, we got to Sydney early to spend 3 days sightseeing after a day of rest after our long flight from Dallas. After Auckland, to break up our trip home, we stopped in Hawaii, the Big Island for a week. Cheers.
Thank you for watching 😊 Sounds like you had a great time on the Noordam, isn’t she lovely? We’re seriously considering a transpacific on her in 2026, weeks had such a nice time on her. One of our favourite ever ships 💙
@@visitwithus Yes, the Noordam is absolutely lovely. The ship is a great size, the crew was amazing as was the food. Your dining guide video was excellent. We expect that we will sail on the Noordam again somewhere down the road. We will be on the Nieuw Statendam in July for a Norway, Iceland, and Scotland cruise then again next September around the Iberian Peninsula from Amsterdam to Barcelona. We are also scheduled for 2 river cruises in 2025, Tulips in Holland and then Christmas Markets on the Danube. You would love the transpacific cruise, but a lot of sea days. You will eat well!
I did a cruise from Sydney in 2022 on Celebrity Eclipse to New Zealand and was as lucky with you with the Tasman sea crossing and also the weather sailing the sounds. I really enjoyed reliving this wonderful experience watching your vlog. Thank you.
Very entertaining and super smooth filming! 💯We a planning our first ever cruise this year but the choices of ships now are mind boggling! Any recommendations for a first, adult only 1 week cruise? We are based in the UK.
Hi Mark and Joy! Thanks for watching. Really appreciate it and welcome to the bonkers world of cruising! For a first cruise? Wow! Where do we start lol! Firstly, do you want to fly cruise or cruise from the UK? What's your budget for the week? There's a cruise literally for every taste and budget! We're happy to advise you. :)
@@visitwithus Hi, yes we have. A cruise from the UK or Barbados would suit us as we spend some time there. We don't want low budget, something classy, not staid! Thank you 🙂
You were very fortunate to have smooth sailng from Tasmania to New Zealand. We had a rough crossing a few years ago and the bags were eveywhere and walking down the corridors was just bouncing from wall to wall. Fortunately, I don't get seasick, but, a lot of folks had difficulty navigating the ship. The sail out from Sydney is definitely amazing, we really loved it as well.
We were expecting it to be rough, especially with the storms that battered NZ just before we left Melbourne but we were very lucky. Would have been worth it though to get to the Sounds ❤️
We discovered this when we got back on the ship, though somehow we completely missed the university itself which was meant to be very pretty 😆 Thanks for watching 👍
Always like your videos but this one i was in love, a perfect blend of information, humor and of course the music with the sights..i had a smile on my face all video. Thanks🚢🙂
Milford Sound- a local tour boat guide told us that that area is better when it rains as there are so many more waterfalls when it rains.

Haha! We only say that about bagpipes because our soft southern ears are too delicate for such musical delights. 😂

Still one of our favourite ever destinations. We can’t wait to return 👍

Wow, what a stunning film, you should be proud. From the intro to the editing, congratulations.
Thank you so much ☺️

Absolutely stunning! The scenery - Just WOW and Dunedin looks like a great place to visit
We loved the whole trip and can’t wait to return to NZ and Australia 👍
Thanks for watching.
Pal, i am 100% straight, but your voice is so soothing!..
Haha! Thank you. 😅

Economy flights..... I don't believe it for a second guys... ❤
Straight up. Don’t recommend it. 😂
@@visitwithus I concur. 🤣😀👍
Economy, messed up in row one now
Outstanding! It's on our bucket list. We look forward to Part 2.
Hopefully out later today 😁🤞
Thanks for watching.
It was wonderful seeing you both. You are always welcome back and would love to take you to see more of our fabulous city.
Thanks Brogan. Hopefully see you again soon 🤞
Great sailout indeed! I think the Ocean Terminal in Hong Kong at night may top this!
We’ve never sailed out from Hong Kong - it’s on the bucket list.
Thanks for watching 👍

Dunedin is largely a student town (Otago University) hence the youthful population. Kōwhai is a tree with yellow flowers.
We discovered this when we got back on the ship, though somehow we completely missed the university itself which was meant to be very pretty 😆

In 1995 I ve been to NZ, Milford Sound and Dunedin and more....🎉
We can wait to go back tbh ❤️
Thanks for watching 👍
Milford Sound…..just……wow.
Indeed ❤️
Thanks for watching 👍
Sail away from Venice when you were docked in Venice.
That is indeed a good one, though very difficult to do nowadays unless you’re on a super yacht style cruise line.
I really must protest ! I am not a monster, that is just my natural appearance before having my first coffee of the day.
Dave, is the monster you? 😆
wow cannae believe ya diss the cat stranglers sorry bagpipes
Haha! There were SO MANY! 😅
Vancouver Harbour beats Sydney as we also have mountains and more greenery.
