It especially sucks when you've been hoping for a good Wolf typal commander for years... and now that we finally got one, it turns out that he's better with a bunch of elves and almost zero wolves. xD
It sure is a good thing that elves are a type not widely known for making roughly a million mana to drop this 5-cost commander on turn 3 and then keep replaying it every turn no matter how many times the opponent tries to remove it
@@ubillacarlosI mean getting massive card draw with the wolves is great. Especially in green/red/white colors. Those colors don’t have alot of great ways to draw.
@@ubillacarlos you could just make wolves only tovolar if you want a wolf commander. The vard draw is really good for refreshing your hand (though personally don't see why you wouldnt just add werewolves in too with the wolves)
Has power creep gone too far? Yes, some time ago. There can never be a medium speed, resilient creature deck because it gets stomped by Voja and the other OP cards. You can't play Voja in a clever way because why not just have elves and win on the first swing? You could make a wolf deck, but why? And why is it an attack trigger rather than a damage trigger? Voja has trample and ward, make them wait a turn for the insane buffs. When cards are this OP _(and Voja is hardly the most OP thing out there)_ there's very little room for innovation and lots of potentially interesting strategies are invalidated. When the good cards are incredibly good, you can't play medium cards and hope to win on synergy or clever angles of attack.
This deck is pure G A S 🔥🔥🔥 But I do understand the feeling of helplessness against this deck. I just wish there was a real queue you can do for brawl that let's you play with other opponents who have objectivity strong as hell commanders and one queue for the more silly and wonky commanders, you know? Appreciate all you do Luca!!!! 😊
There’s always the 60 card brawl whatever you call it. It’s kind of inevitable that a game mode with access to all the cards is going to get pretty powerful
Yep, I made a Quintorious brawl deck that started out midrange-y then I had to add four board wipes and make it more control because Voja and Poq kept running me over
@@たいやきTaiyaki-q5dand how are you supposed to do that, yeah caverns at thing but that’s just one card in a commander deck, yeah theres tutor but like how many of them or you gonna run?
I know it's an Arena-only card, but Marwyn's Kindred would also be a really strong option here, playing Voja on turn 3, then getting an extra two or three elves out turn four, one of them being another Marwyn! And that's just if you're rushing it out, you could probably get a really nice horde if you got it a bit later!
It's strong for sure, but it still gets taken out by a two mana removal spell without any problem. Don't even know if it will see play since green is so abysmal right now
Considering the fact that this is a game created by an American, it’s safe to assume the words use American English pronunciation. “Voe-ja” is perfectly ok. “Voia” is a Spanish pronunciation of the letter J. Also, the “Voia” you’re hearing is more like “Voya”
Oh my! Just tried it for myself and got the 15 wins like it was nothing. Also got some insta wins with turn one elfs. Let's see if the deck keep it together in the Hell Queue
Love the vids! Also would you consider The Ozolith in this list? I feel that with your commander and other cards generating so many +1 counters it could shine in this list.
Which Ozolith are we talking about 😅 Either way I wouldn't focus too much on +1/+1 counter synergy, unless the cards involved happen to be Wolves or Elves. Once we get the counters going we get a lot of them at once and the game usually doesn't last much longer, so any +1/+1 counter synergies tend to be win-more effects.
I was referring to the OG@@LegenVD, and after looking closer at the list I can see that the creature synergies do more for Voja than effects like hardened scales, New Ozolith and others.
Nothing personal to anybody, play what you want to play, but damn are these "value" commander boring to see in action. You can simply read the commander and you instantly know how the game is going to progress...
Competitive magic players in these comments are so annoying. “Actually it doesn’t enable a one turn kill combo so it’s unplayable in my format” cool we aren’t talking about your format. Most magic players actually like playing with the cards in their deck, and prefer games to last more than 2 turns.
Voja is definitely a total cash grab. TBH, for a 5 cmc creature with built in protection, even if it only put +1/+1 counter for each creature you control and only drawing 1 card when attacking, it's already considered good.

I could see Elder Silverback, being very useful in this deck even if it doesn't match the theme your going for
Yes, Silverback Elder is a great toolbox creature. It is one of the main reasons I picked up the starter decks in paper late last year.
Not that the deck needs it, but having a Questing Beast in there can push damage past The One Ring, if I remember correctly.
Can also use Stomp from Bonecrusher! Eldraine strikes again.
Wizards are making sure that this game is as unplayable as possible huh.

I sure do love creature decks becoming solitaire. They get to join the spell and combo decks, no one gets left out!
