Does everyone forget that he doesn't only just ults you and that's it. He steals your stats aswell. He doesn't just get stronger inside his ult you get weaker aswell.
More than that, this isn't just regular CC. He just straight up removes you from the map. He takes you out from the teamfight and prohibits you from helping your teammates for 7 seconds (while wholesomely statchecking you to death in the meantime...). Even if he doesn't kill you, he still wastes your time and that's what matters the most. This change does not impact duels, it impacts teamfights.

I think it was August that said making the QSS change on Zed made people actually buy armor to counter him, resulting in Zed's winrate actually going down.
This obviously doesn't apply to Morde since QSS was also MR, but still, nobody bought it

A member on the change team posts the intention on twitter. He said this change is for HIGH ELO and in pro where QSS is OFTEN bought for morde ult. And this doesn’t apply to just QSS. It also applies to other champion interactions, including Olaf and Milio.

Morde Ult steals stats, it is why he is such a lane bully. You can be 2 kills on him with spent gold and he can still beat you 1v1 in ult
As an illaoi main I stopped buying qss at the start of the season when I learnt to dodge Morde ult with illaoi ult, however the timing is difficult especially when they play with a skin on, qss became useless when they removed silvermere dawn as now you're stuck with an incomplete item since scimitar adds no value, which is the same for about 90% of toplane, once again they make a change based on what they want in proplay and not the wider community
Not many people realize Illaoi ult can be used to dodge cc, and it's really useful, worth practice.
On the Adam thing, I don't think Monte was "proven" wrong. It was essentially a "yeaheh, nuhuh" situation. Though I think Monte worded his tweets like a clown, but if you hear what he has to say on Powerspike there he makes an indepth analysis about what occured during the laneswap. And that he believes BDS's strat was really bad unless that exact specific laneswap happens at which point it looks sus that they knew. Though I'm not sure I agree with, I still think saying Adam proved him wrong is a bit silly.

Love the grubs change. Ive had it so many times that my jungler gets 6 grubs and enemy gets 2 drakes. Now WE are on a timer since they need 2 more for soul. Grubs are so overrated. If you do a comparison between how many games you lost cause enemies have 6 grubs vs enemies having soul, its definitely gonna be the latter.

Well, turns out there is more to mordekaiser changes. Olaf R, GP Orange, Rengar W, Milio R, as well as QSS as we know ALL will NOT cancel the ultimate once it has been casted successfully. The ult CAST however can still be cancelled by spell shields (Morgana), Fioras W, Ornn‘s W (unstoppable), Yone E recall (unstoppable), Sion R etc.
You can cancel your flight to Brazil but once you’re there your definitely not leaving anymore, basically.
Vandiril also showcased that GP, Rengar and Olaf can't cleanse Death Realm anymore (tho you can still unstoppable/CC immune it)
I think we might see impact play some morde at MSI. and for everyone panicking phreak said that they'll be monitoring it closely and will walk back the changes if it's a disaster. Anyway idk for you guys but I rarely see people build QSS for morde in the first place I don't expect that much difference for soloq but he'll probably be extremely interesting for pro play.
In Vandiril's vid I got the impression that qss reduced the dmg mordekaiser/sylas dealt, also cause the champ that qss'ed seemed to get an aura around it

i think one for all made it super noticeable how counter-able mord is. anytime i got that champ in OFA everybody built QSS and mord felt practically useless into most champs all because of 1 item.

Here's how I see it. If Morde has passive / Conq stacked, and you're standing in it when he ults you, you're probably dead, unless he's super low and can be bursted. He was already winning that situation. If Morde raw flash ults you, you just need to survive for 7 seconds. If you dodge the E, you should be good, assuming you also can flash his Q. If you're really scared of it as a squishy, pack ghost if you can use it to dodge, or exhaust if you just want to completely hose him. Zhonyas and spellshields still work, too.
Yes. Getting taken out of the fight and the resulting 4v4 often deciding who wins is annoying, but it's often equally a coinflip for the morde if you both live. No team knows what to do when Morde makes that play, unless he tells them, and often your team will correctly assess that the big hulking frontline guy with big denial buttons is now no longer in play, and they can dive Morde's ADC freely.

For most top laners, I don't think the Morde change will affect the match-up as much. The way Fiora, Garen, Gnar,... play will still be the same. However, ranged top laners will definitely have a harder time, and GP will have more difficulty scaling up (late game GP or Vayne will still be able to kill Morde inside his ult).
One champion in particular will have a much harder match-up imo. As a Yorick player, Riot pretty much just removed the best counterplay Yorick has against Morde's ult. Normally there are 2 scenarios:
1. Yorick uses ult first. In this case Morde's R isolates him from the ghouls and maiden, and Morde can easily kill Yorick inside the ult.
2. Yorick saves R for the all in inside of Morde's ult. In this case, even if Yorick wins, maiden will be killed automatically. And without maiden, Yorick is not much of a threat for the next 2 minutes and a half.
So what now? Yorick can still kite inside Morde's ult with his cage, though this is not very reliable. I would probably take Ghost to run around instead of Flash, cause I ain't gonna fight a revenant of death without my families.

Morde also got shorter cooldown on Q btw. Which means he will not only deal more damage, but get more tanky as he will build W faster. All on a champion that already is a low elo stomper.

Dude they're shaving off a single second from his Q at level 1. The spell he maxes first. He'll be able to farm into losing lanes a bit more safely and this probably will not impact a single fight before he maxes it. Stop acting like his Q just got some giant power boost when it really didn't.

I think the mordekaiser ult changes are awesome. It’s his ULT. It also made his Q and passive so overbuffed to keep him relevant in solo queue, so hopefully, now that his ult is stronger, the rest of his kit can be tuned down so he is strong using his ultimate, not just in general without ult.

Once you reach a certain Elo, ADC don't get hit by Morde's spells inside R, so you have to flash R and walk up to them to proc passive.

What you are saying with the adcs is in a way true, but it doesnt take into account a crucial detail. Most Morde players aren't building Morde correctly.
Now this may sound arrogant coming from me, a silver player, but it's literally just true.
Morde has 2 weaknesses, his lack of engage and ult being Cleanse-able. The second one is about to get removed, but there is an item, which basicly solves both problems, if morde builds it. That is Shurelyas. It is a cheap item, whoch gives insane ms, ap and heal and shield power. The reason why it solves both problems is as follows: Morde is now faster than 95% of champs. This means, he can catch and engage almost every champ on the map. If they have a dash, it doesnt really matter, since he still outruns them and can catch them. This means, engage is no longer an issue. The reason it also somewhat solves the second issue is, that ult basicly serves as a barrier. It's there to stop enemies from running away and to isolate them. While Shurelyas and it's ms cant isolate an enemy, it stops them from being able to run away. Shurelyas turns morde into Hecarim without ult. With Shurelyas, Morde doesnt need ult to stat-check an enemy. He simply walks up and kills them.
And this is the reason, why you are both right and wrong. It wont be as impactful of a change as it should be, and it is true, that above masters, adc players are better at dealing with Morde. However, it will be unimpactful, because people dont know how to properly abuse Morde and not because players are unable to properly take advantage of Morde's weaknesses. Also, while adc players in high elo are good at playing around Morde, high elo Morde players are obviously to new ways of abusing their champ.
I predict the change in wr will barely go over 1%, it may even drop as more people will play it, but in 2-3 patches, Shurelyas will be discovered on Morde and his wr will skyrocket to above 53-54%.
As an adc i don't care about QSS not working anymore i just think its weird some champs getting some better treatment than others respecting their ults, Ashe's R can be QSS'd, Nocturne shortsight can be QSS'd, I think urgot ult can be QSS'd too, Karthus ult can be blocked by banshee/EdgeNight/Zhonyas same goes for malphite. Where do you draw the line helping some champions have an impact and where its okey to say this ult/champion/mechanic can be disregarded with this item and where we need to help that champion make more of an impact, the winrate? the mechanics iteself? the role of the champion? So yea don't care but seems weird riot helping some specific champs over the years
It's important to remember that everything is balanced around existing mechanics. If Morde will be unbearable even after the likely nerfs he will get, it's possible this change will be reverted until they figure something out. As for many of the other examples you've given, there is a thing called an item tax. Buying Banshees makes you deal less damage than most other AP items. Buying QSS means you have less damage (and it's expensive). Taking Cleanse has big opportunity cost (ghost, heal, exhaust, etc). It's always a tradeoff. With Nocturne, for example, while you can QSS or Banshees the nearsighted effect, you are barely affecting the champ because the rest of your team can't see still. While you can Zhonya's a Malphite ult, it's AOE and can hit the rest of your team. Most of these abilities have more to them. Urgot R can only be cleansed once he starts grinding you in his stomach which is both really hard to do but also you will be very close to him, making you in the ideal spot for the rest of his kit to kill you.
Morde is different. Death Realm has no extra effects and it's a huge part of his power budget in terms of balance. I can almost guarantee he will be mega broken. You can't itemize against him in any other way. Buying Magic Resist doesn't matter because he steal stats. Buying health doesn't matter because he deal %hp damage. Buying damage doesn't matter because he is currently balanced around that + QSS. The only thing left is mobility which is not available to all champs. You become ultra reliant on your team and in some instances you might have no option to dodge (Flash + R after your team left for the enemy carries). There are too many scenarios where this will make him absolutely heinous to play against.
Now, I don't mind the change. I think it's good to try and balance around that. But as he is currently strands, unlike Zed in the past where you could QSS it, you could also counter Zed by buying Armor instead. When Zed ult interaction with QSS got removed, his winrate actually got lowered cause people started buying better items (his pickrate didn't change much so it was the already existing players - there is very minimal statistical bias here for interpretation). But with Morde it's the correct stat - QSS gives MR. Maybe ADCs need to start buying more sustained healing against him (good luck Jhin). We'll see. It's a good test. If after a few patches it's still awful feeling, then they'll have to find something else to do.
Regarding what should and shouldn't interact with what by Riot, it depends on the players. Currently, QSS, a component, fully counter the champion fantasy of Morde. Lillia can also be countered by QSS, but she is not all about the ult. She is about being a speedy bitch running around dealing %hp damage. Which is fun for her and has room for counterplay with CC, heavy burst, sustained healing, hands diff, etc. Morde's coolest moment affects a single enemy opponent and they can get out of it. That's why they removed stopwatch, btw. Especially in pro play, in later fights you could have like 8 stopwatches in champions which resulted in really awful fights. If Morde can't isolate an enemy, then he is simply a glorified tank that his team hopes he gets fed in lane to be useful. He has NOTHING else to offer when behind. That's the big problem. A Mordekaiser who is behind has nothing to offer except his ult. Unlike Jinx who has the potential to come back and scale, and do massive AOE damage from a safe distance, he doesn't. He has to go to your face and hit slow skillshots without mobility and isolate a relevant target (which might never present itself since he is so telegraphed) and if he does get it, he now has to deal with QSS existing which makes all his effort useless.
It's complicated. If they don't manage to balance him, they will sadly have to revert the change and either leave it like that forever or figure something on a bigger scope down the line. I hope this made some sense.
you do realize the one thing you listed is a stun right? also who buys qss for nocturne ult? morde ult can still get countered by some of the items you also mentioned. Things like zhonyas( doesnt block it, but can delay enought time for ult to run out), Edge of night, and banshees can still block morde ult. Morde can still be easily kited try playing morde into a vayne that has a brain and isnt bronze 50.
This is HUGE for morde. This is insanely good. Should definitly appear in pro, especially ms builds, to get on top of enemy adc.
Judging from the damage in that clip he definitely had the chance to kill asol if he tried from the start and get a reset on ult.

Nope, vandiril made a test on champ like gp, alistar, olaf and rengar. it doesnt work anymore. the only way you can avoid the ulti if you play champ like olaf or ornn that can be unstoppable when the morded casted the ult.

I think its ultimately the wrong way to deal with the interaction.
ADCs have very limited options to deal with the man with current build path most mordes go.
I do think thst 1300 is to low to escape his ult but I think just moving the active to the completed legendary and stat compensating QSS is the better route.
But there needs to be something. Because currently the way most morde ults are played out.
Whoever is in morde ult is thought to lose as soon as the ult goes off.
Then team has to either run or bite down to try to kill the raidboss morde coming off of a near garunteed kill.
Mind you morde gets all the following when ulting or coming out of successful ult
-%stats of champ ulted
-Conquerer's (most common rune) near fully stacked or fully stacked due to how insanely fast he stacks it (honestly probably needs nerf there)
-Riftmaker fully stacked (most mordes build)

Avid Morde main here, can't even recall the last time I saw a QSS let alone a useful one which I couldn't just ignore by ulting a different person. Huge nothing burger of a change and I honestly hate it because he's going to be nerfed soon because of it....

Vandiril tested iz and no, no longer. First they changed qss to noz be abke to cleanse morde r but gp w and renger w could. Than a patch later they also changed that gp and renger cannot cleanse it anymore.
Only unstopable can PREVENT morde ult but not cleanse.
Likr olaf cannot r to get out but also cannot get morde ulted after olaf pressed r.
Qss should bot cancel traveling to brazil but should cancel the stat steal from mord ult

I think they treat them differently since the counter play is different
If Morde clicks R, you have your kit and sums to run/kite/outplay him
If malz clicks R, you must simply take a seat and take the damage

0:07 That explanation doesn't work, because they're not applying it to Malzahar, Lissandra, and a plethora of other champions. The correct explanation is that Mordekaiser's R is not a cc and therefore it being cleansable is a special casing that doesn't have justification to exist.

They took away the ability to cancel Morde's ult channel by walking to bush, now they take away QSSing his ult. How am I supposed to bully Mordekaiser now?!

I think it's okay if only QSS but i think it's fair if the mercurial still remove the ult. It literally cost full item 3400 yet as useless as 1300 and it probably already late game. Even Morde is a fighter, Morde still mage n they can oneshot.
honestly i know alot of people hated being feltl ike they were forced to buy an item to counter mordekaiser so if anything i think this will actually be an overall healthy change. If people don't like being forced to buy QSS and people don't like their morde ult being cancelled by one item, why not just remove this interaction. Just make morde ult either a more interactive fight by the enemy having more of a damaging item over QSS items or a better CC tool for morde where even if he's out matched he's providing utility to his team.
