This is the best interview I’ve seen of the Dandys so far. Yes, they were definitely helpful. I can vouch for that. For Courtney it was the jocks at school, but for me it was pretty much all of the East coast. I’m getting a real sense here of the distance between the Dandys and Eric Hedford, who’s been doing a bit more than DJ-ing. I’ve had both Telephone albums for many years, which to my ears are a more new wave counterpart to the Dandy’s work & it’s really good music in its own right.
Eric is the original drummer? As a lifelong Rock drummer myself, and someone who would kill to play with them I’ve always said, “Who would voluntarily leave a band like this?! 😄
i heard my first Dandys song "not if you were the last junky on earth" on beavis and butthead and i went and found as much of them as i could after that, its great to hear them talking so relaxed and freely. Such a cool attitude and so much talent. Big fan. Interestingly the first album i bought for myself was the same as fatheads. Weird huh. i was about 8 years old.
Saw these guys in Brisbane the night that Obama was elected. They stopped, cracked a chamagne and said "For the first time in X years ... we are not embarrassed to be American."
I love the Dandy Warhols but they're as old as me, so that makes these guys old enough to be somebody's grandpas. Greetings from up river in the desert of Eastern Washington!
great band and great conversation - nice to hear from Brent (who does stellar work on backup vocals as well as great drums) too

Loved their first album, and a few songs in between. I feel like if I skip this I won't be missing much.
Their recent albums are really good. First 3 too.
This is a pretty great complete album
