I don't know who the mysterious mosogotam is, but he's the finest creative post--producrion remix producer on the internet. What he does to enrich and enhance these fine old R & B classics must surely please the ghosts of the original performers and composers. . . .pure genius, and the editing is flawless . Bouquets of flowers tossed at your feet, you are the MASTER!
For the newer commenters here, "mosogotam" aka John, passed away from Covid19 last spring - he has many many great extended versions on his channel - what a fantastic undertaking he did to provide these great versions of Motown songs
No way ! I was totally unaware. I followed John from way back in the days when he was PtownMotown. He even did a couple of his special mixes for me. Called him up on his radio show once from here in London UK and he was overwhelmed. I`m really gutted to read this sad sad news. He has left a great legacy and was a great ambassador for TM as well as being an encyclopaedia of Motown knowledge not to mention an all round lovely fella. RIP John Perrone, thank you for some great memories my friend.
@@slottaway I'm gutted to learn this in 2024, when I just discovered his BRILLIANT work. Respect, Admiration Love, RIP. His wonderful work immortalises him.
@adrianjohnson7920 He was a gem of a fella and had a huge following. He ran a radio programme in Provincetown, Cape Cod on tuesday night as far as I can remember. I stumbled onto his channel by pure chance, back then he was called `Ptownmotown` but after a while had to shut it down due to copyright......In my opinion TM should have been paying him for keeping the label alive and drawing in new fans. It wasn`t all TM, he did some great remixes of various artists. After a bit of a sabbatical he came back with the name `Mosogotam` and if you look you will see that he put a disclaimer on all of his works to get around the copyright issue. Even my kids were subscribers and loved his extended tracks. Gone but definitely not forgotten, RIP John you made a lot of people very happy 😉
@@slottaway Thank you so much for this GREAT post. I'm glad that he was appreciated while he was alive. It doesn't surprise me that he was a lovable personality, because of the generosity he showed in spending SO MUCH TIME and devotion producing these genius remixes.
At the early advent of synths, they were played by talented musicians. Nowadays they are sometimes used to cover up a lack of musical skills, or used to play nursery rhyme type melodies
I had the great honour and privilege of meeting the Four Tops in person in their dressing room at the Fiesta Cabaret Club in Sheffield (UK) in 1972. They were all true gentlemen and Levi Stubbs Jnr has such a unique voice. No wonder they were so popular in the 60's and 70's. This is a great mix. Thanks for posting ir brings back such wonderful memories
I can’t help myself Four Tops Berry Gordy and Motown Records! Welcome to Motown! The Isley Brothers Whitney Houston and Martha and The Vandellas! R&B Classics!
Excellent extended version from Mosogotam, what could be better than the original? More of the original, that's what. Love your extended versions of these Motown classics.
This is the best one of the two you’ve done, that piano upfront, then the sax, OMG this white boy grew up with 2 Mothers, Mom & Mam ma , I’m white, but I’m black,
