I’m in Australia, I looooove Kirstie and Phil shows. Watch them all.
My 2 favorite COMICS on the planet...KIRSTEN & PIP!!!
💟🏡💟
No matter how gorgeously beautiful a home was, I wouldn’t even go round the rooms if I smelt the smokers den from the entrance. It’s gross & expensive to try to put right. Plus the health issues from secondary smoke, no thanks bye. Speaking from experience, we bought a house that reeked of cigarettes and the shed smelt of weed, we binned the shed. We had to clean, then strip an entire house and ceilings, leave it airing for a month before re-plastering. Not worth the trouble. Smokers can sell for fellow smokers
I was wondering if the smoke smell was from a prior fire rather than tobacco. It’s been my experience *that’s* the smoke smell that a good wash, paint and carpet change can’t eradicate.
However, I’ve never faced that issue with lathe and plaster walls.
@@jenniferlynn3537 from how they reacted, it’s certainly tobacco smell
That's why the house has been on the market for a year.....
@@jenniferlynn3537Two different smells and I would not buy a house that stank of tobacco of smoke .
Are you Americans?
I'm from Newfoundland Canada and I love these 2 as well!
Found this show a few weeks ago in America. Binge watching all of the seasons. It’s going to take a while lol 😂 I’ve learned a great deal already about UK design, building codes, housing rules etc. compared to the USA.
Try Escape To The Country , and GRAND DESIGNS too 😊
@@HumanimalChannelgotta LOVE ETTC!😍👏
Me too!
I love it!
Me too!!!
Younger buyers need to step back and recognize their limitations....
Beautiful outdoor photography!
I have thought that intermittently in other episodes, but today it was really striking, yes.
The 1930s house in Davenport was fantastic. Make the tiny kitchen into the utility room, and the room with the French windows could be the kitchen. No need to knock down walls... 🤷😁
I find the English real estate conditions weird.
Here in New Zealand, once a contract has gone unconditional the sellers have 6 weeks to vacate, or less if mutually agreed by both parties.
If they haven’t found another house to move into - tough luck. No one wants to be messed around.
We moved out of our last house in less than 4 weeks after sale, as we found a property we were able to move into immediately.
However after saying all of that, l love this series as l get to see a bit of the UK, as l doubt l will ever have the opportunity to travel there.
In the US I think it's usually 4 weeks, maybe 6-8 at max. Waiting 8 months to move in is wild.
In Australia is 4 weeks usually after the contract has gone unconditional. If you have not found the house bad luck ..go to an Airbnb. But I know in Argentina the vendor can say no if they don't find a suitable property ..weird
I think in Canada, a closing date is set by the seller, but is negotiable in the contract if both parties are willing. An offer can be made with a specification as well.
Even if there is no rule about it in the UK, I find rude and careless to make a couple wait for a total of 9 months after an offer has been accepted. They didnt even go see that many houses in those first 8 months before being on the show.
nothing wrong with the kitchen in the 2nd hours shown to Craig and Becky
Always loved this show and LIOLI too. 👊💪👍
Sad tale. My 58yr old son was 9 when he visited Medittin with his dad who was setting up a factory for Smith Kline. Somehow he fell behind the group walking in a "safe" area and was removed to an alley by a group of boys who removed his clothes, stole his shoes and all but his beds. He called me crying to come home. I was in Philadelphia. Somehow he came home traumatized but in one piece. Never forgot and will not go there. But I like what I see of Ecuador. Stay safe folks. Barbara
Why are you telling us this? lol
Once I was smack in the middle of a book about psychosurgery and then I left it in a taxi!
I've always wondered what happened to that book.
Why is this posted here> If you are suffering, find a counsellor, and good luck.
Once, as a child, I fell off my bike. I’ve often wondered if I should visit Peru.
@@parsnipmcgee329It was used to light a fire .
Becky needs to watch some diy shows. Paint ...
Where are all the unique houses? It's like looking at a housing development in the US.
Housing stock k in UK is running low. Have you not seen the size of the UK? Population growth and the ability to buy is also a very real issue
Yay, Craig! Committing is so sexy.
Craig wasn’t the problem in this equation. Of all the houses they’d seen before and with Phil, Becky only consented to one. And there’s nothing ‘sexy’ about walking away from the bargain of a lifetime with the probate house because Becky couldn’t see past the granny carpets or envision a kitchen remodel.
Blechhh.
It's amazing when they are fussy and have no taste.
I don't think either couple were fussy The only thing was Becky prefers not doing work, but that's understandable since she had two young kids and she was up front about it. With Chris and Amy, both of the first two houses had major issues. The first was the road. The second was the smoke (and the road). So again understandable.
Make up is extremely cheap to produce so a lot of money to be made but only if you sell large numbers. It won’t sell. She is too old. People like Selena Gomez who have 500 M followers can pull that off. Yes middle aged women buy make up but just not the amount she needs.
people wiyh money choising so poor...I dont understand
Becky, please get a grip! Women, for centuries, have made major contributions to the family economy by managing such renovations. Please get over it! She's comes across as such a manipulator -- she's down on everything that isn't her way, a way, by the way, which is very limited. Glad they didn't get the nice house! People do get what they deserve!
You need to take a good look at yourself and your life. Every comment you leave is a negative one, especially focused on women in the show. Complete strangers you see 30 mins of on an edited TV show. If you can't enjoy the show for what it is, a cross section of average human beings, then you need a new hobby. Or therapy. Lighten up! It's tv!
Becky's taste is all in her mouth with her black tights, navy dress and grey sweater... those oak cupboards could be painted out would have been amazing... the house they like has no character at all the front of the house no curb appeal...like Becky
You don’t need to be rude!
I immediately thought the same about those kitchen cupboards ! Spray painted , they would look stunning , but some cannot see past the surface . Nothing wrong with her clothes , as it is a cold place over there .
I felt bad for the husband because you could tell he did not agree on the choice of house. He knew that the first one had more potential., but he had to agree or they would never buy any house.
I love this show. I pray that they continue for a long time. If Channel 4 is privatized, I pray they have the good sense to keep the show and format and the atmosphere makes it possible for these two to continue working there.
Me too, awesome show!
I love this show. I'm from the Netherlands and I watch it by YOU Tube or SBS6. Am a big fan of Kirsten and Phil
When it comes to Craig and Becky, I'm with Craig when it comes to which is the better house (I loved it as is!), but I think Becky, with two babies, is right not to want a house that would need renovations to make it suit their wishes.
The house they chose is lovely. It's main drawback is not so much the size of the backyard, it's that it shares a mitoyen wall with the house next door. Unless the sound insulation is superlative, a noisy, selfish neighbour can make your life a misery. That is always a risk. Even if the neighbours are lovely now, nothing stops them from selling to hellions.
I love these two so much!!! 💕💕💕They are my favorite couple on the planet!!!💜💜💜
But it's not a couple! lol
The detached house Craig and Becki saw at arount the 24 min mark was the best. It had the biggest garden and had the most efficient yet beautiful layout.
I completely agree. Plus it was detached, under budget, and they both seemed to really like it.
I’m here to agree ...vehemently. Becky was barking mad to have been unable to see the vast potential that property had inside including for adult entertaining and future play-land for her two boys as they grew.
Honestly, I was VERY hard pressed to understand *either* couple’s sensibilities - Craig being the most sensible of the lot. However he seemed cowed by his wife’s expectations - which come at great, great expense - especially where they were presented with the opportunity of a lifetime with that probate house $100,000 under prior asking price.
Becky was shopping with criteria one holds when *leasing* rather than purchasing, and using the current age of her children - which was temporary - as an excuse to have her husband make a horrible decision. Ordinarily Kirstie talks sense into such sorts, but somehow this woman was not made to see the unreasonable and frivolous tack she was taking with the single most important money decision they’d ever be making.
Charm should not prevail over structural integrity; decor shouldn’t be determinative over space. When not wealthy, you don’t have the luxury of pursuing ill-founded preferences when your whole family’s future is at stake.
A house is an investment - and a person’s life, job, income, health is never guaranteed. Housing markets go up and down. If you suddenly need to sell and it’s drastically gone down, you want to be holding a house you got on the cheap. If it’s gone rapidly up, you want to be holding a house you can sell at enough of a profit that you can afford the next home you may need.
I’m just shaking my head.
I would actually have gone for the fixer-upper they saw first. I thought that was by far the best. The third house would have absolutely been my second choice, though.
Don’t get why they all want a garden with their shitty weather! Just to work in it????? They can hardly sit outside for more than 3 hrs per month, as it’s either too windy, too rainy or just too bloody cold!
I agree as well. I actually left a comment before I saw yours. I would have gone for that house too.
I agree with the other viewers. I love Kirsty & Phil & this series. I also like them on ‘Love it or List It’. Great shows!
🍀💕👍🏼Agree here from 🇩🇰!🍀
Thank you for the episode. Your dedication is greatly appreciated.
Two really good options for Craig and Becki. Not sure Chris and Amy were living in reality.
A buyer can (be made to) wait *9 months* after an agreed sale?! That is definitely an across-the-pond difference in protocol!
It was probably a condition that they agreed to, not were forced to. First time buyers, probably living with parents and saving up money.
Craig was right. The first house had a great potential for best value. Sadly, Becky could not see past the finished design.
I like the first house but I love renovations.
In France, if we make an asking price offer, the vendor must accept it, no sealed bids.
The question comes down to, "can you live with it until you have time to make changes?" Change the carpets now, remove a wall later.
oh im watching from the states and the " 10 bedrooms and 1 smallish bath on the outside" is killing me. 😮 im extra but the one bath is so uncommon here in the states. one and one half bath... two and one half baths... common. my condo has two full baths. love love love the series❤
Keep in mind that the Uk is much older and smaller than the Us. The houses reflect that.
Off course she's happy! She got the house she wanted and doesn't have to do renovations lol personally I wouldn't want to with a baby and toddler 😅
The noise level, living near a busy road, is not the only concern. Breathing carbon monoxide everyday for years, cannot be healthy.
I love the first house
i liked the 2nd house with the big backyard for chris n becky... i didnt care for the one they chose.
I didn't like the 4th one as well. It was my list favourite. I would have gone for the 3rd because at 360k it was below budget, needed little to no work and had a better backyard than the 4th.
Great show - Love it or List it is also great.
The long garden is going to be great for tie kids to cycle around in. It isn't so much small as skinny.
Vinegar will kill the smoke smell
I always enjoy any programmes with Phil and Kirsty, they are interesting ,fun and entertaining, as well as a great way for us to see some of England and UK. It's interesting that Becky works as a town planner, but says she has no vision. One would presume that vision would be a complete asset in this line of work, so maybe an unusual choice of career for her.
I'm always surprised by people who cannot just open their eyes and their hearts to see a good home when it's offered. Searching for that mysterious "feeling" suggests that too many people don't have much of an imagination for how to make a place their own. It's sad. They risk losing everything as a result.
For the 1st couple with 2 young children, i would have gone for the 3rd house. It had a better outside space, was way below budget and didn't need much work.
These people are not buying a house, they are borrowing huge amounts of money with an astounding risk, its madness.British people have no idea about buying houses. What the he'll does sq ft size mean ? Nobody knows what 30 sq ft looks like.
What are you on about?! lol
Get back on the meds
Made the other people wait eight months
Ahh

Many Thanks
Wait - the couple made their buyers wait EIGHT MONTHS??
How selfish is that???
And how does that work?
Snooze you lose!
Poor Phil & Kirstie. These people are crazy. " I don't like the smell " . GURL BYE
"gurl bye"??? Please.
Maries dinner looked amazing! Bravo Marie!! What a wonderful vlog, Stephanie! I loved your walk with Phillip and Lancelot! I love spring as well! The gardens are beautiful!❤
What are you doing with the garden, ffs? The lady who will be mostly at home says she is comfortable with the size!

Addicted here as well ! 😂😂😂😂❤ from Rio de Janeiro
Love Kirstie's red trimmed raincoat, very chic.
What part of we don’t want to be on a busy road don’t you get? 😮
becky is gorgeous
She looks like Bella Hadid
I have never commented on people's appearance on the internet, but Becki struck me as truly fitting the description of "luminously beautiful". Craig was gracious and humble enough to admit that he just needed a push. The very low maintenance garden worked out fine with lots of patio space down the side. Hope they are very happy in this house.
@@elizzy8754She is stunning but also warm looking .
Is a reception room like the living room in America, or is it like what used to be called a parlor?
It's where you receive people. Not a kitchen, bedroom or office.
They seem to call living rooms and dining rooms as reception rooms .
One downstairs bathroom would be a no go , unless I could add one upstairs .
I was also confused by the name at first. It's basically a living room.
Always love Kirstie’s clothes. I want her to take me shopping!!
I have always thought that her clothes are awful and very unflattering.
How does a house smell of smoke?? And why? 🤔 From fire place?
Cigarettes.
Constant smoking inside the house. I personally can't stand the smell too.
Smokers, if you don’t smoke it’s totally distasteful. Stick to clothes , hair and nose. As it ages it smells worse.
We rented out our house as we were moving overseas for a few years. We had a strictly no smoking inside the house clause that they agreed to, but clearly ignored. When we returned the place stank, the ceiling was black and the curtains were discoloured and reeked. This was our first much loved house and I was devastated and we ended up selling it
@@dianewalker4633 you didn't take the deposit and use it to clean the house since they clearly broke the rules as per agreed in the leased agreement.
Its hard to watch her now that I've read some of her recent "woke" tweets.
Whose woke tweets? What do the tweets say, and what are your objections to them?
I don't understand your objection? You don't believe in being aware of social inequalities? Or public TV?
@@serenakoleno9338 Most woke issues these days have more to do with stupidity and nothing to do with social inequalities.
Actually "canceling" something/someone because they disagree with your point of view is a very "woke" characteristic!!
