Important note
At 0:45 it should be African Dwarf Crocodile instead of African Dwarf Caiman.
I accidently putted caiman instead of crocodile
Thanks to John Molloy for noticing.
Sorry guys
Gilles Delhaye no problemm... Nyc VDo btw...
Another mistake...the american crocodile is not found in the caribbean smaller islands besides maybe jamaica and the bigger islands
Gilles Delhaye don’t worry about it I forgive you
That makes a lot more sense
That is okay
Many people know that the Saltwater Crocodile and (to a lesser degree) the Nile Crocodile are capable of attaining supersize lengths of 6+ Meter, 20 Foot Individuals but these two species are not the only extant mega-massive crocodilians. Among the The Orinoco Crocodile, The American Crocodile, The Gharial, The Tomistoma (aka False or Malayan Gharial), The Black Caiman and even the American Alligator, Super Size 20 Foot 6+ Meter Males were once not uncommon, but hunting with firearms has largely removed the genetics for Giantism from modern gene pools.
No it's removed age.
The Sky Is Blue But you’re not factoring in the chances of survival for the offspring. Only 1% of all Crocodilians make it to adulthood. It’s reasonable to assume that only half of that 1% is Male and only a teeny tiny number of those surviving males have the special genetics to grow to supersize proportions. Now consider the very limited number of Animals like the Gharial or the Orinoco Crocodile which have been pushed to the brink of extinction.
@@johnnyfavorite1194 All males can grow big but they take decades to grow so a species coming back from the brink has no specimens old enough to be really big.
The Sky Is Blue The Sky Is Blue All Males grow bigger than Females but the genes for Super-Gigantism (6+ Meters) are not present in the majority of males. We know this because of the documented old ages of well-cared for Modest-Sized Males who have lived their entire lives in captivity.
@@johnnyfavorite1194 Animals grow to suit the space. Animals in enclosures will not grow big. Also by old we're talking 70-100yrs
This was great! To make it better, you could discuss some of the characteristics that differentiates each of the crocodilians. You could also put some references to the map locations. Geography is not everyone's forte.
best music I ever heard
What's the name of it?
@@paco680 in the description
I agree
I love all crocodile species no matter the size and shape. they just remind me of prehistory.
Crocodile:hey we both are same family, lets party

That’s great!!! Thank you!
Thanks! I was looking for something like this!
Thanks UA-cam algorithm, this is epic
Very well-detailed video on the crocodilians of the world!
My favorite animals! :)

*_I know..._* right...?! They have been my favourite animals ever since The LEGO Company released a product line of toys under the LEGO Legends of CHIMA name in early 2013 - which had an anthropomorphic Crocodile character who was treated in a *_*very*_* poor moral light (along with the rest of his animal tribe), which it made me not only feel sorry for him, but it also made me really adore crocodilian species of all types *_in general_* there! 🐊💘 🐊💘 🐊💘
mine tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Mine aswell
Interesting list. Who, except experts and enthusiasts, like yourself would have known there were so many. I have long had an awareness of the Ganges Gharials, after seeing a program about them around 20 years ago, I agree with Gold Wolf though that the map references could be improved, either with a couple of legends such as 'Brazil' or 'Amazon rainforest' or 'Central Mexico' or 'Indonesian Archipelago' as is accordingly appropriate. Still thanks for the information.
You should have put how endangered each crocodile is.
That would indeed be a good idea.
Maybe for a next video. Thanks
Its the Chinese Alligator by a long shot. Only 200 or less are left in the world. The Bronx Zoo actually has a few of those 200 too.
JokerSins 27 gharials aswell.Only 200 in wild.
Conservation worked well for American alligators.
A gharial is endangered too but it is starting to get better
PSP That is no longer the case. By the 1970s there were probably around 200 left in the wild, but captive breeding and release programs have restored the numbers to perhaps 2000-5000 wild individuals living in protected areas (though only a small percentage of of these Gharials are mature, breeding age animals)
The music sing me to sleep
reana reanes me too

Awesome music
Thank you so much for this. I wanted to be a herpetologist but I don't have much books so. This means so much to me!
No problem. I wish you good luck.
@@LegendzComboApe1993 Thanks. But are all the species listed in the description? Also are there still some species not mentioned?
@@jjjohnson1389 yup. There all mentioned.
@@LegendzComboApe1993 Cool, and again thank you so much!
@@LegendzComboApe1993 wait. You forgot to mention the Dwarf Crocodile, the osteolaemus tetraspis.
And the Borneo crocodile which is The Crocodylus Raninus

Morelet's crocodile is a true evolutionary marvel 😱 I'd like to have as a pet 😎
You know that snake discovery has a pet alligator, right? So technically, you can get it as a pet.
@@Oof-zl6lt That an alligator and they still need permit or
black market 😈
Make a video of all prehistoric crocs and gators
Great list though I would had like to seen the more current ranges. Sadly a lot of the creatures are extirpated. Also I am curious if some of these sites are going to start including the West African Crocodile.
The picture for the Chinese alligator was taken at the Cincinnati zoo. I know that because I’ve been in there a million times. Those alligators can be found in the reptile house and are in the center there.
Yessir
Chinese people also eat all types of animals found in the world 😂
I just notice that many crocodile species' range overlap with others, so ppl might getting confused which one is which at time.
Yeah that also is what happens with Caiman and Jaguars lol. Usually they hunt the dwarf Caiman or medium sized Caiman. But, most people don't know there's different types of Caiman, so they think all Caiman are prey to them, but then there's the Black Caiman which is way to big for a Jaguar.
Час ночи, норм рекомендация)
So Crocodiles, Alligators, Caiman and Gharials are found all over the world except Antratica and Europe
(Sorry for spelling Mistake)
🖤🖤
digging the music lol what song jw?
Taylor Myrick Dark Rainforest - Derek Fiechter and Brandon Fiechter. Album name is Tribal Jungle
he did the Johnsons croc it was the freshwater corc showed before the salty. he had 3 types of crocs from west africa not sure which one he missed.

We have plenty of American Alligators here in Florida. And some of the American Crocodiles too.
Indeed. I saw wild alligators in Florida for the first time in 2016, 2017 and 2019.
Also i saw some rare american crocs in the Everglades 2019.
I like all crocdildes but the gharail crocdilde is my most favorite
I want the Chinese Alligator as a pet now. I know I live in America, and I can get an American gator outside my door, because I live in Florida, but the Chinese Alligator is much smaller, and not as aggressive.
Best vedio on crocodilians but Mugger crocodile was extinct in Buthan and Bangladesh and unconfirmed in Myanmar(Burma) it was found Indian states like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh(Chambal River),Ranthambore national park (Rajasthan) and Gir national park(Gujarat),spme areas of Pakistan,Nepal,Southeast Iran and Sri Lanka
There was actually a giant prehistoric crocodilian belonging to alligatoridae called "Deinosuchus", that lived in the western parts of the US and hunted dinosaurs during the late Cretaceous.
You did not include the snipers dawf caiman
Same thing as cuvier's. (paleosuchus palpebrosus)
My pocket bully (English bulldog/Pitbull mix breed) lays the same way when resting legs just resting by body😂
B4 this video I wouldn’t have know that there are several species. Breeds
I dont know whre is the diffrent?
crocodile are my favorite animal but human kill them for only there skin
Yeah it’s cruel
Some humans kill other humans for no reason. Please ban all guns, cars, knives, bats, airplanes, jets, 4 wheelers, lighters, and wheelchairs.
You're a human too so
They also kill them for sport and meat🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊
@@backyardrally9010 Banning all but guns, and perhaps knives and lighters sound *_*really*_* ridiculous there!
This reminds of Steve from Australia, of Crocodile Hunter TV show! No species from Australia???
The freshwater and saltwater crocodiles live in Northern Australia.
Also didn't put every crocodile in the caption.
american crocodiles also live in Texas
Well very far south Texas I think you are getting Mexico and Texas mixed up like the area that it's in
Yah boi
What kind of crocodilian is Lizzie? She was from the Everglades, about 4 hours from where I live. So she must be an American Crocodile, or Alligator. But I want to know which one before I see her decapitate Ralph again.
American alligator look like the most chill out of em all lol
I think a saltwater croc and nile croc or a salty and alligator hybrid can give a huge croc it can even reach 10 meters and more powerfull
Have alligators and crocodiles *_ever_* been crossbred in history???
Steven Villman nope they can try but the female eggs will never be fertile they evolved too differently it would be like a human mating with a chimp not gonna work
when i grow up imma get a permit to own a pet crocodile or alligator :D
Welllll its really expensive start with a caiman but go ahead do what you want to do
if u want a small-ish omeget a smooth fronted caiman

Scaly boi chart
I’m trying to figure out which species and gender my croc is

Forrest Galante recently discovered a new species of Caiman

All I want to know is which is the strongest
*I personally think it's the African crocodile but I want a fact*
strongest is saltwater crcodile
Ryan Wolver Strongest bite? Saltwater crocodile and it has more stamina then the Nile crocodile, which gives it an edge. Salties are more aggressive too, but Nile crocs are considered more dangerous and responsible for more deaths each year. 1
Thanks for telling guys :)
And ladies too
Salt water Croc is the most strongest Croc.
And bypass each Croc in terms of size aggression and power
Practically Yours ok
chambal gharials very cute but mugger crocodile is big and dangerous. Caiman is smallest in crocodile family so jaguar easily catching them.
Depends on the caiman species. Black caimans are bigger than american alligators
Nah alligators are smallest black caimans are very big 4-5m in length
Guess what? I live in Florida!
IRAN have native corocodil
Gando Corocodil
I LIKE NILE CROCODILE AND SALTWATER CROCODILE🐊
This all crocodile was born in jurassic. And one crocodile i know is boarcroc

It's just a hydrid but it's not classified as a species of it's own. Hydrids are no species.
Were is west african crocodile
You forgotten the jet black alligator
Because they are not Crocodiles
John Juan crocodilians are a group of crocs and gators caimans and gharials
My favourite type of animal species are reptiles
Yeah, it's the same with me!
Fun fact: Gharials are larger than both the Nile and saltwater crocodile species. Don't believe me just search on youtube "Gharials by Animalogic"
Gharial: 250Kg and 3-5m long
Nile Crocodile: 600-800Kg 4-5m long
Saltwater Crocodile: 800-1000Kg 5.5-6m long
clearly not
@@bodianbear2411 you are wrong
saltwater croc is 23feet
nile croc is 20
gharial is 20 or 18

Have you ever been to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm? It's the only place in the world to have all species of crocodilian. Also, you forgot the West African Crocodile.
isen't that a subspecies of the nile crocodile?
Gilles Delhaye It used to be considered that, but recent research said otherwise.
then i indeed forgot one
thanks for the info
Gilles Delhaye No problem. Have you also ever been to Gatorland or the St. Augustine Alligator Farm? I have and they were great places.
Only Gatorland in Orlando.
I was there last october
And thats where I became 15.68 foot long
Bangladesh has mugger crocodile...salt water crocodile and gharial..
Why not name the crocodile of Balochistan in this movie?
I see some people commenting that a jaguar can kill crocodile but the fact is jaguar hunt and kill only caimans maybe also alligators which are the small species of crocodiles but when it comes to the big spiciest crocodiles forget about hunting and killing jaguar would never even come closer to the big spiciest crocodiles like salt water and nile crocodiles.
It prolly hunt the young of the salt and Nile but the prime aged crocs
It would be great if you also put a countries name in the map. Thanks!
...as well as state names (U.S. and India).
Good.but there is 1. More croc that croc found in india and nepal.its name is gharial croc
