I visited this place and the other rolling stock around the same time as you first posted. I see it hasn't changed much recently in the comments, that's a damn shame.
It's really sad, government needs to take possession to save this stuff otherwise it won't be long and it will all be history, the people tasked with preserving this are not clearly financially capable of restoring and it's criminal to see it rotting away. Thanks for watching!
Australia is losing it's railway railway history in small rural areas within Australia it has to be preserved for future generations and it is a major concern
looks INTACT with the rail lines and everything but does not look active with the bad nick rolling stock and overgrown weeds. this is the kind of thing rail fans would love to own. I guess if I owned it I would put up fences signs and gates maybe to try and stop vandals and maybe spend every second night there. be great if they get a working locomotive on those rails
This is Cabanda station, I've copped a bit of flack from the rail guys for calling it abandoned - they reckon it's still operational but I'll let you be the judge. Cheers matey!
Yes it was still in relatively good shape until the vandals find it.... I hope they do end up maintaining the property, such a unique piece of history. Thanks heaps!
Sure is matey. I have another video from the museum up the road a bit that they say is active but doesn't look to be, there are some really cool old rail cars and engines just rotting away...Thanks for watching.
This is an active railway and you’ve caused abit of upset on site with this video. Ray passed in 2014 and ran the organisation not a caretaker. Lack of volunteers and funds caused the pause in operations not Ray.
Matey I didn't mean to upset anyone, so my apologies. I literally stumbled across this place with no info and basically said what I saw. I said it's a shame that somebody isn't looking after the place and taking precautions to keep vandals out before they destroy it. Government should be forced to take action (funding) or themselves take action to save these places as once they're gone..... so due to lack of funds or volunteers and the place not being maintained you can see why it appears abandoned. It will take a monumental effort to clear the lines and get things running again but I wish you and the volunteers all the best in you endeavours. Cheers!
@@live0on0y0utube I live near it and the gates to the museum say they are closed due to covid and there is no way any trains have run on the circuit for a long time. They may be running within the museum (or maybe there's a line on the other side of the museum) but that's about all, maybe you have the wrong Cabanda station.... Oh and I have been on their website (I don't use FaceBook) and it's in about the same condition as the station. I was truly sincere in my remarks and really hope this can be restored and wish the volunteers all the best with the restoration but you are clearly angling for an argument that I'm having no more input to. Goodby!
There's been a big revival and renewed interest in restoring many rail tracks for bikes and walkers. Fills me with joy and hope. Thank you, mate
Boy I hope they do something with this, truly sad to see it like this.
Cheers mate.

Yeah mate. This was the Rosewood to Marburg branchline the main industry of this line was to feed off coal mines in the area etc.! bj.

It was a part of the Rosewood to Marburg line.

Just googled the place , interesting story. Thanks for sharing the images mate .
Thanks mate, glad you liked it. I have another I put out a couple of days ago if you're interested. Cheers!
Please make sure it doesn't get trashed mate . Because there is not a enough historical country. All rural Australian railway stations
What a cool explore and such a shame it's all just been left to fall apart 😢
Thanks matey, yep it's in a sad state...
Great video
Thanks mate!
Imagine the outcry if governments shut down roads because “not many people use it”.
Yep.
Is this the station north of rosewood? Cause I thought they were running steam trains from cabanda to the museaum

Well. Who's looking after it,then ? Did they say ?
its not actually abandoned
Apparently...
New subscriber. That was some beautiful scenery and that train station was nice to in a creepy, scary kind of way.
Thanks heaps! I filmed another one that I'll get on UA-cam in the next week. Cheers!
It looked well kept up sort of the building. The roof might need attention with all that rust.

Two yeas back I visited this place too. Bit sad

Hope its taken care of
He moved away from the area mate
Cheers for that, sad someone else didn't take it over. Here's hoping it doesn't get trashed. Thanks mate!

@@mongreljack I’d suggest you have a look at their Facebook page and the progress in recent weeks.
Trains are running.

active rail lines have silver tops on the rails due to trains rubbing off the rust, this one looks pretty clearly rusty and unused
Yeah , looks TOTALLY active mate 😅
