This is too true. My personal favorite is when the job description states this is an entry-level role and then they list the CISSP as a preferred certification to have 😂.
This is encouraging to read. I am currently looking into self learning through online learning materials available to potentially get into Cyber Security after talking to my bro in law who's been doing it for 25 years and I know for a fact I can exceed in the social conversational aspect of things. I am currently self employed in another field, and so all these years of "hustling" cold approaching people to offer and sell services and develop relationships have definitely increased my comfort into engaging with other people. I'm hoping that if cyber security is my next career choice that my interpersonal skills are gonna give me that edge. The rest of the stuff can always be learned on the job, but you can't just train a socially awkward person to perform and improve in that area as easily.
As a recruiter I'm going to ask u a question. I have no tech experience but I'm changing my career to cyber I'm about to attend a boot camp. Do u think I can get a job when I finish making $75k a year?
@@itsourceress5520 okey. The boot camp I'm about to attend said they have a %93 in field job placement rate average starting salary at $77k a year. U think they can lie bout all of that u think that's legal?
@@weeden350 the people getting $77k jobs out of the boot camp probably have a lot more experience and job history in IT then most. I doubt jobs paying that much are the norm
@@sp123 yeah like 3 guys I know that's been in cyber security for a while told me to get a basic IT job for about a year and a half to get experience before I can get a cyber security job.
Wrote his 1st malware at age 3 & the other Hacked the DOD before he was born🤣😭💀 this mess took me out🤣..the similarities of what you hear & the music just finished this off😭
I am also in the running for the position, and all I come with is a Security +, a love of tech, and an intense need to get out of my crappy warehouse job before I lose my mind.
This is what it felt like majoring in computer science. It's like everyone already knew programming and were just there to pick up th degree. Never felt this way in any of the other majors, including engineering. Changed majors second semester
My favourite part of these is where they say you need 5+ years experience in senior management for a junior level job... It's like the concept of trying to get experience in a job and getting denied because they tell you need experience to work😂
I have five comptia certs, an ISC2 cert, a google cert, 7 years of sysadmin experience and a clearance and I am having a difficult time finding a cyber job. I will take my BTL1 soon so hopefully that helps me.
haha, lmao, but the moment you step in the most well own organization like NSA, you already know you are literally the rookie, when you see others who are top notch hackers there looking 😂
This is funny, but also shortsighted. A newby is more likely to be hungry , thus wanting to grow. Whereas someone who's already seasoned may think they know everything and get comfortable and lazy. I know because I was in my previous career of 13 years, I became comfortable and stopped growing. A new guy came in and showed me a new perspective on things.
I kinda get it. You can't join security with no experience as you need proper network and PC fundamentals and experience with these systems to get into security. A security role even if advertised as entry level is never entry level but the requirements are insane!
The 20 year-old with 20 years of experience broke me😂

A lot of them don’t have communication skills and that’s where you come in
Very true
This is how you get the job
