He comes and goes all day long and he's not slow about it, he romps on the accelerator every time he leaves and every time he returns too. Plus he never uses it for hauling or towing. He owns it not because he needs a big 4x4, but because it's cool. And clearly he cares not for anyone else in the neighborhood. This attitude is everywhere and it needs to change. I had a 454 stingray....400 auto....broken in....now....I know that was at lease 400 at the back wheels...Black Water Virginia Beach..near the Carolina border...moonshine country. That thing took off at 160...it down shifted at140- 160 cause that's the last time I dare take my eyes off the road. It locked up all 4 brakes...I had just bought it. It wasn't running. I put it on stands...changed the fluids plugs...points...wires...drained the tank. ran thru all the gears and took it out. It hit the tree at 25.....because i'm still alive. But it left the back end sitting out in the road...as traffic drove past a white 1974 Stingray with the nose pointing in the air....anti freeze leaking out. i started it up...back it up and pulled onto a gravel drive way just as the cop was pulling up. There were 2 old guys there...retired ..on was blitzed..it was 11 in the morning...' oh he only doin 45 at the most...we seen it all...the brakes locked up officer '......there are these skid marks for 1/8 mile where the tires had locked up. It was fast. Faster than Ned Kohlers V8 Vega on the back roads of Calistoga CA

The owners of these cars drive all the time knowing to use safety margin driving speeds. Just because the passenger's feel like they're going fast is perhaps not terribly fast considering the torque and horse power cars deliver on a slower, 20 MPH drive/ride.
I have owned my fair share of fast cars (none like that camaro, but still fast) and the number 1 rule I and everyone who i go driving with has is, if any of your passengers ever ask you to "slow down" or not to do burnouts or drift because it scares them, then you do it no questions asked! It may be their choice to get into your car knowing that it's fast, and that you know how to handle it in any condition, but it's up to the driver to be sensible when his/her passengers ask them to be! It doesn't matter if you can drift your car through traffic with a blind fold on, if you don't want to have to "stop" or "slow down" when your passenger/s may ask you, then you shouldn't take passengers in your car! You can't predict everything that happens on the roads or what other drivers in front of you are going to do and there is a very fine line between being in control and loosing control and killing someone because you "fucked up" Sorry for the novel.
