Maze is not posessing anyone, Maze like all demons was BORN the body we see her in is HER BODY from the beginning of her existence. Demons can only leave hell in two ways, 1. an Angel can fly them out of heaven in bodily form or 2. they can possess a recently deceased person.
Lilith wasn't immortal because of the breath of life, she was immortal because when she was a demon THE FIRST DEMON. when we see her in the 20s she is a demon and than gave up her Immortality to become human again
Fun fact: when they were dressing Tom for the role of Lucifer he looked at the outfit and said something was missing. He then went into a box of jewelry they had and picked out that ring.
I am not sure if the picture we have seen with Lucifer and Hitler is actually Lucifer. It is quite possible that it is Michael. The action we see of the nazis is more one of fear than desires so it matches Michaels powers better. Making Lucifer look bad is something that we see that Michael is interested in.
The actress who plays Trixie had another commitment. When the show was cancelled she started looking for work so when they decided to continue the show she was already busy. She is not in many more episodes.
The cool detail in this episode is that besides it being Al Capone's gun, it is also LITERALLY Chekhov's Gun (the art of foreshadowing). To those who don't know, Chekhov's gun is both a term and and actual literary principle. As the famous author said- "If in the first act you have hung a gun on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired. Otherwise don't put it there." The gun is hung over Linda's head, and in the last act it is nearly fired by her. Nice tiny detail.
Honestly Maze's story is the most tragic of the show. Millenia in hell, learning only to torture and abuse, being tortured and abused by her siblings, to then be brought to Earth by Lucifer. She learns about the good parts of humanity, but can never really connect to them in any real way that matters. She doesn't have a soul, the thing that connects humans and angels, so when she dies it's over for her. When she does try to show her affection to those she learned to care about, she does it in a way that most people would tend to reject, so when she is rejected it just further cements the idea that she is an unlovable demon, a feeling that started with her mom's abandonment. She makes a lot of bad decisions in the show, yes, but I think it was smart to constantly pair her with Trixie, to kind of connect them through a lens of childhood. Because what is Maze, if not a child who needs love and guidance, and has had none of it before this (tiny in comparison) short amount of time she has spent on Earth. Maze deserves the world, and that's a hill I will die on.
finally, someone who recognizes the depth of our Mazikween. I really don't understand how some people can blame her for making wrong choices, or feeling lost, unwanted, and wanting to go back to her "normal" and how scary a change like this is. with Eric saying things like "I'll never forgive her" and stuff like... so you won't forgive a child who makes mistakes either? a character can be more than just a foolish, naive, "friend to the end" especially a character we know has been abused, used, and cast aside time and again
this was really a fun episode. I love Eric wanting to bring back Tom Welling as Cain, sorry pal, he is burning in hell. I'm sure Lucifer took personal interest in Cain's hell loop.
The funniest thing to me is what kind of Memory Trixie has!?!? Cause let me tell you it's at least 10 times I rewatched this episode and I still wouldn't be able to retell the whole story to Maze Lol 😄
Well that’s mostly because you’re remembering images and trying to translate that image into words while Trixie only needs to remember words and then repeat that. Also a single frame has more details than maybe a paragraph (just a guess but even if it’s less then a paragraph a single frame is still a lot of words)
Lilith was Adam's first wife, made from the same clay. But then she was banished for rebelling and became the mother of demons and symbol of evil. What did she do that was so evil she was cast out? Be her own independent person and want to be treated equal to Adam. Thats why God made Eve out of Adam's rib, so she would be part of him and be subservient. I guess Lilith was the first feminist.
sometimes I wonder if all religious holy books are made by people high on weed or just wanted to make a point by any means necessary. Cause I dont think actual God would do any of the shit and actually is a kind and nice person but punishes those who do bad stuff in terms of murder, assault, bully, cheating etc. crimes
@@SasukeUchiha723 as a religious person I applaud you for not encouraging the idea that God is actually a bad dude and is strict. I sometimes hate the way some hardcore Christians tell this stuff bc it makes people think Christianity is a bad thing, which it's absolutely not. Some people also seem to forget about the concept that God gave us free will to think, do, and believe in whatever we want, hence why atheists exist. Lilith is not actually in any scripture as a a women, the only reference to Lilith is in reference to a demonic creature NEVER ADAMS WIFE The passage most often pointed to as evidence for Lilith is Isaiah 34:14, which in the NRSV reads, "there too Lilith shall repose." This is a poor translation. Every other major translation of the Bible reads something to the effect of "night creature" or "screech owl." Even if "demon monster named Lilith" was the proper translation of the Hebrew word, Adam is nowhere even hinted at in this passage or its context. Whatever the Lilith was, it is not given any connection whatsoever to Adam or Creation. Another commonly used support for Lilith is the differing Creation accounts in Genesis chapters 1-2. Some claim that the woman in Genesis 1 was Lilith, with the woman in Genesis 2 being Eve. This is completely ludicrous. Rather, Genesis chapter 2 is a "closer look" at the creation of Adam and Eve as recorded in Genesis chapter 1. The Bible specifically says that Adam and Eve were the first human beings ever created (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25). This "Lilith" myth is popular in some radical feminist movements because Lilith is an example of a woman refusing to submit to male headship.
15:53. Huh? Dad was born in 1940 and this year became 83. (By the way, Bruce Lee - Born 1940. Died 1973.) In "Cheers" and "Frazier" they made a lot of "Lilith" jokes because of Frazier's first wife, Lilith! 😊
Regarding that "jerk yourself a soda" line, that is a line straight from a film called Bugsy, and Annette Benning says it to Warren Beatty. Not sure if it appeared elsewhere before that, but that's how I know the line. :) From what I recall, that film is based in around the same period as this Lucifer episode, so it fits well.

I seriously didn’t consider that. Good theory and certainly more likely than Lucifer hanging out with Hitler.
Or maybe he was just there to watch. Doesn't mean that he approved.
And now 2 seasons later we know why the ring that Candy stole has "sentimental value"
"They should give the ring to Dan"
Oof, that hurt a little bit :/
