  • Also known as the Indian Giant Squirrel, this large multi-coloured tree squirrel is endemic to India. It's range is fragmented across the tropical deciduous and moist evergreen forests of the Deccan Plateu, the Western and Eastern Ghats. As Malabar Giant Squirrels are upper-canopy dwelling species, which rarely leaves the trees, they are often difficult to spot during safari.
