    So glad that the ski patrol isn't that serious in Austria. Would be heartbreaking for me to loose something that I saved for for about half a year.

      NSB4130 yeah, I've done crazy shit here in finland and also in France. Don't even know how I'd get it revoked if I wanted to

      Seems absolutely crazy that they can just take your season pass off you. Don’t think I’ve heard of it in Europe

    Would have been twice for me but I got away both times. One of those two times they actually chased my car halfway down the mountain and I saw cops driving up the mounting in the passing lane but I never got pulled over and actually skied there the next day lol Golden rule is don't give them anything and just go home for the day. They won't tackle you or anything. If the cops did pull me over all I had to do was prove I didn't sneak onto the mountain and "steal" my way on the ski runs... All they really care about cause it's a civil issue... not criminal

    Seriously what resort would pull a pro rider's pass? Mark McMorris...think about all the free pub they get with him riding there.

      Think about how many people follow pro snowboarding...and then think about the main demographic of ski resorts...families. It’s like saying the worlds 100th best reader generates publicity for a state library... nobody who goes there actually cares.

    • @charles8557

      Kids dont like the sport and buy new gear because of pro riders, they do it because they enjoy it. Ask 1000 people on the street if they know the name Shaun White, I'd put money on it that you wouldn't find 1 or 2 that knew, in a normal city. Kids won't beg their parents to go to a particular resort because a pro rider goes there, get over yourself lmfao, nobody cares about pro snowboarding.

      Charles I can say personally that growing up in eastern mass and discovering Scott Stevens amped me up to hit park. Seeing that pros come from areas that aren't Colorado or Utah got me so much more into the sport. I've been riding for 10 years now. Not saying that because of Scott Stevens I went to blue hills or anything but at first I only went like 3 times a year then that turned into a season high of 53 times in a season.

    I've only got a day pass pulled. At Killington. I jumped off of a side jump out of the woods and cleared someone sitting in the side of the trail and patrol was not happy with my conduct.

    I was going to have my pass clipped at the canyons for ollieing over a slow sign except I didn’t have a pass because they only checked passes at the bottom so I borrowed my buddies to get up the lift and then was just riding the top section🤣

    Why would you ever even go with ski patrol. They aren’t the police. Just go to your car and come back another day with a different jacket on.

    • @alexhodges8812
      @alexhodges8812 6 років тому +1

      They can report you to the police and the cops can follow up later on

    • @RhenusFilms
      @RhenusFilms 6 років тому +3

      On private land (which a ski resort is) there is no need for police for this kind of thing. Ski Patrol is allowed to enforce the rules set by the owner and if you break them: tough luck, don't be stupid and break the rules. And if you must break the rules, always observe the 11th comandement: don't get caught. And if you are stupid enough to break the rules and get caught, at least be honest about it and take responsibility.

    • @PTMG
      @PTMG 2 роки тому

      @@RhenusFilms actually, only partially true
      In some places yes, but in actually the majority of cases ski resorts are on NATIONAL PARK land that is subsidized by the US government. The building and lifts are private. The mountain is not. Even if they are grooming it.
      Obviously not the case everywhere but again, if it's on a major mountain it's most likely public government land.
      The better move is as soon as you see them, hide your pass and tell them you don't have one. Worst they can do is kick you out.

    Why would they pull your pass. Like what would you have to do?
    I've never been snowboarding

    • @aussielung
      @aussielung 6 років тому

      KoolCid passes are pulled for doing stupid things that put others in danger. The most likely reason a pass is pulled is that a skier/snowboarder has hit another mountain guest while out of control. Being drunk or under the influence of drugs on piste. Heading into closed areas when it’s closed for guest safety. Being a dick head on lift chairs.
      Basically no one has their pass taken for “no reason”. It’s only taken for reasons they disagree with.

    Guys I got a story. So my friend finds a ticket on the ground and thinks it will work for me. Of course it doesn't. He rides up and sends down a girl (we knew her) with his pass for me to use. Then we'll just ride the upper lifts. (Stupid plan really). I get to the lift and stupidly hold my thumb partially over the photo. The guy is on to me. "What's your birthday?" I answer and get it wrong by ONE fucking day! I was nervous what can I say. They confiscate it. I saved my friend from getting his pass pulled by telling the life operator that I found it on the ground. What a shitty day that was.

      Luckily, thanks to covid 19 and RFID passes, it is easier than ever to transfer passes. They can't ask you to pull your mask down and no lifty ever looks at your pass. You just go through the gate and you're good to go.
