I used to work in the resturant and we used to buy it for $750. Find the Italian supplier which imports from Italy and then you are set.
@@Poli.Zygotikkgo buy you a small package at the store and it should be under $10. That way you can try it. But make sure it's Parmigiano-Reggiano from Italy. Always eat it at room temperature.

I'm from Reggio Emilia and that's always my go-to gift to people abroad, that and thick balsamic vinegar from Modena are hands down easy gifts everyone appreciates, you can pretty much add them to anything

We brought back like 25 lbs from Italy, vacuum sealed it. Gave one or two away and still ran out before the year was up.
Because it goes on everything. My mom and I literally went to Italy for 5 days and brought back our suitcases filled with cheese, pasta and real olive oil. It was all gone in a few months 😭

@@katiejenkins4532 In your check-in luggage, there is I think 2 or 3 bottles per person max (but I think it is more for the wine and other alcohol that you should be getting at the duty-free with no restrictions anyway), you should consult with the airline you are traveling with beforehand. Other than that, you might have a problem with meat products, depending on the destination country. The cheese and dry goods as long as they are packaged, they can go in any bag.

My husband is building a factory and bought some equipment from Italy. I invited the Italians home for dinner one time they came to the factory (in USA)

and the one they make everywhere else (think Belarus, Argentina etc) is parmesan.

My papi use to do this when we were kids but it was an aged cheese from Mexico. It tasted like aged jack cheese but melted like mozzarella, you could melt it directly on the cast iron pan! Awe good times!
