grows fast and very hard to remove from the rock it is growing on. Therefore it can easily spread, overgrow your rocks and eliminate space for other coral. If you really want GSP in the tank, keep it isolated on an island
@@Saltwateraquariumdotcom I’ve seen this rock in the shape of a doughnut I want to get one stand it and it’s end grow GSP on it. Fish will be able to swing through the middle 👍🏻
Not only does it eliminate space for other coral but once it grows right up to the coral, the sweepers will start rubbing on the coral until the flesh dies. Then the gsp climbs right up. Had this happen with some of my sps. Took a while to get the gsp out.
Great looking tank. I have the Red Sea 425xl and had the cheato and skimmer in the same location but was told the cheato/ refugium should be after the skimmer?? What's your thought's please?
Hey I have a Waterbox 170 and don’t have a lid yet. Is there any kinds out there that make it where you don’t even notice that there is a lid. The reason why I might not get a lid is because I don’t want to destroy the rimless look on my tank!
I have a lid. It was actually behind the saltwater brute trash can on the left. I typically only have it on the tank when we are out of town or away. No jumpers so far. But I don’t want to jinx anything so let’s change the subject LOL
Love how you keep it real. Best part. Hopefully when I’m finished with my setup you can review my build! Will be finished soon Dropped wayy too much on it... SPS. Gonna let it run for about 2 years before I add a “dream” peninsula tank to the den.
Thanks Mr. Saltwater Tank. Working on your recommendation.
Glad to help
My best wishes for a great 2021! And congratulations for cleaning up your tank ;)
hint: not the same tank I usually sit in front of...
What read... My tank was just compared to yours. That has to be a compliment😀
@@Saltwateraquariumdotcom oups... ;)
What’s the problem with GSP
It’s nice it fills spaces. I like it 😊👍🏻💞
I already removed the rock on the rock. I’m actually growing is out for my LFS

A lid isn't necessary so long as you don't keep fish that like to jump - wrasses, dart fish to name a few.

Sounds good!
Was told cleaner wrasse and some other fish pick at clams
The cleaner wrasse has been in there 8 weeks.... no issues so far
Some can. Mostly depends on the fish and you won't know if they have a taste for clams until they are both in the tank together
Need opinions please, should i get a screen top for the rimless tank??
Do you have to have a sump to have a saltwater tank? With or without corals
No. Just makes things easier & cleaner!
Hey Mark
;)
Hate to say it but this is a waste of a perfectly fine xl 525 (bad tank)
