  • The Michigan woman convicted of fatally dousing her sleeping father with a mixture of water and lye addressed the judge at sentencing Tuesday. Megan Joyce Imirowicz tearfully begged the judge for mercy and even quoted the Bible. “The evil are ensnared by the transgressions of their lips, but the righteous escape from trouble,” she said in court on Tuesday, quoting Proverbs 12:13. Imirowicz was sentenced to one year in prison with credit for time served and five years of probation. She went home Tuesday night.

@@michaelj1552 I know right. She literally is out already. It’s crazy in my opinion. On October 1, 2021, her father Konrad Imirowicz was hospitalized after he suffered fatal burns to his head, torso, and across his body from her. It was said that they were arguing after her dad was too inebriated to take her to the salon to get her hair styled for her then-upcoming birthday. Then I guess while he was intoxicated and he was sleeping, she combined lye powder with water to throw at him. Lye powder is a chemical product used to clean drains, it is often compared to Drano. And when lye powder is combined with water, an exothermic reaction occurs from it. The reaction causes the mixture to reach a 200-degree temperature in Fahrenheit. The solution can also cause a person to lose consciousness. Then I guess on March 3, 2022, which was literally like 6 months later about, he was released from the hospital. Previously, he was on life support due to multiple infections, amputation of both legs, skin grafts, and kidney dialysis which were later effects of the attack. Then days later on March 6, the 64-year-old succumbed to his injuries and died.

“Lost in addiction.” So, you didn’t choose drugs? One day while walking in the meadow, you turned left, instead of right, and suddenly you became “lost in addiction?” Sounds like something you picked up in jail or AA/NA. Lucky for you a leprechaun wandered from under his rock and rescued you from being “lost in your addiction.” He too was once “lost,” I bet! Were you also suffering from “child brain” or “immature brain” like this young 18 year old girl, who had no idea that chemicals would harm her dad? She was just trying to help him get cleaned up for her party, huh? She was “lost in her innocence” when she reached for the lye and doused Papa with the toxic substance. Well, I’m done here…seems I got “lost in your comment.”

Now, it’s up to her to make God on what she said she would do and that’s to go to school and get a job and college, etc. She will be monitored for the 5 years. She will have a leg monitor and drug and alcohol testing. One, and only one, mistake and she will do the FULL 5 years, or remainder, in prison. She doesn’t have an easy road ahead. She has to prove herself now. Tears dried up or not, we do not judge, that has been done. God be with her and the family through the mourning process,🙏🫶🏼🫡

I get she was left to a situation that no child should have to face, however this is just ludicrous! Yes, her father drank, but by all accounts he treated her well, and she was a trouble making spoiled brat. He just was too drunk to give her a ride somewhere, and with her being an adult now, he shouldn't have to. Something so trivial as a ride to get her hair done and she murders him. @@freedomring757 Agree. The father didn't pass solely because of Megan's actions; the primary factor was his drinking. And while it's questionable whether these charges should have been brought forth to begin with, I'm glad she got to this point in spite of her lawyer.

She's a kid! Been dealing with an alcoholic Father and living in neglect. Her reaction was by no means acceptable but I do think she was mentally affected by her past upbringing. She can make things right for herself and by herself now.
Shocking that she got such a lenient sentence BUT let's hope she is grateful for being given a second chance at her own life.
