Miscarriage is devastating. So difficult to understand. It’s like grieving in reverse: Instead of memories, you have hopes to hold on to. Who are you mourning?
I believe in a soul - I have to now - in as much as something to represent the difference between being alive, or inert. The force that is at the source of every person, the fundamental burning core. That place inside us where, when we are totally alone and in darkness, we are all the same. And, being the same, never truly alone.
This music was written in a blur after driving home from an abandoned tour in Germany to collapse inward in grief. I'm sorry to everyone I let down then. I can remember the hour or so it took to write only as a single snapshot from outside myself.
It is dedicated with constant love to a life never lived. I wish we’d got to meet you.

Thank you too, Alexandr! Your work is also very inspiring and I’m your biggest fan!
Why I am I just finding this gold?

Obsessedddd
Nobody touches the strings like Jon... Amazing sounds... I'm truly fell in love with this song (again) . What a timeless record. Turns off the world around you completely as you listen... It's unbelievable.
I'm so sorry for your loss... Been there four times through two relationships in my adult life and it only got worse with every loss. 4 years ago it happened to me and my now ex-girlfriend which in fact was a miracle, because the chance for her to get pregnant were at a poor 5%... And as if that wasn't a miracle in itself, there were two embryos on the ultrasound... It was only weeks later that I learned that she had inherited the cystic fibrosis gene mutations from both her mother and father, and that she was pre-burdened with other diseases that made pregnancy a risk for her. The chances of her dying at birth due to the co-morbidities were too high and it came to pass, as her OB already suspected.... she started having terrible abdominal pain a few weeks later.... her OB gave her two options: either miscarriage or a D&C and she chose the latter because she couldn't stand the pain anymore... I still haven't gotten over that loss to this day and I probably never will. But songs like yours allow me to vent my own feelings that I kept hidden for years. I am a highly sensitive person and I can feel your pain. Honestly, I'm listening to this song for the 17th time in a row right now. The tears are flowing like streams and it just won't stop. This song is such an artistic sensory overload - it is the Mona Lisa of music for me, punctuated with the sound of guitars. And I mean that with every fiber of my body. Thank you for this masterpiece, Jon. I hope you are doing well, please take care of yourself.
I almost can't listen to this beautiful song although I absolutely love it. Our first one left us very early in the pregnancy. However the pain and tears were real. We were ready. He wasn't apparently. Not talking to anyone about it but sharing it here on UA-cam now for some reason. I also lost my job that day - which in comparison of course only was a minor inconvenience, nonetheless did not aid us in coping.
But it seems all that needed to happen this way so we could later welcome our now one year old healthy son to planet earth.
Suffering and joy go hand in hand in this crazy carousel that is life. One can't exist without the other. This is why I feel deeply connected with the tragic notes that make up this phenomenal composition. The way Jon plays it gives me the chills. One of the reasons I am an aspiring fingerstyle guitarist myself. No words to describe the ever-growing connection to this magical instrument made of wood and steel. Thank you Jon for this piece.
Edit: Thanks everyone for the kind words and all the best to you! Music mends and unites 🎼
Stay blessed brother. The first one may have left far too early, but it's not goodbye, just see ya later.
Bless you and the happy family man ❤️
Wish you all the best, Marcel. Thanks for sharing your story.
Keep your head up!! Much love!
Thank you for sharing this.
I got a daughter, you know, and she has only 3 year old, but, Jon, let me tell you, she loves your music.
We probally will never meet you in person, since we're from the very south of Brazil.
As a father, I barely imagine how deep your pain is, and it freaks me out just to think about your loss, devastation and emptiness. As a man, i got to say for you to stay strong and hold on tight. As a fan, I'm gonna simply cry. God bless you mate. There's something more than meets the eye.
This is such a cool arsed comment.
This is the saddest thing I have ever heard. Oh my god it's so devastatingly beautiful.
The tears just started flowing about a minute in...
I wasn't sure what was happening to me lol but glad I'm not the only one
Its bittersweet🥲
I pictured myself in a raining forest while listening to those harmonics @ 4:25
I keep coming back to this song. Something about it. The structure, the reverb...I don't know. The only words I can think to describe it are "gentle haunting."
Hauntingly beautiful 💙💛❤
Grief will come (and go) in waves. Face them as they come in and trust that they will leave again. Allow yourself to feel that pain but not be buried by it. For myself I must cling to my belief in God, in Jesus, in Heaven and that my boy is in His hands. Everyone grieves a bit differently. Be so, so patient with each-other during this time, especially since you will most likely grieve differently. Stay connected and help each-other through. My wife and I lost our 13 year old son last September. Still dealing with those waves of grief that come sometimes unexpectedly like a rogue wave, and sometimes you can see them coming for hours ahead of time. You'll get through this. Keep writing and I can't say it enough, don't withdraw from each-other. Stay close. God bless and keep you.
Even though world is going down, there are still some beautiful things. This song definitely is one of them. Mr. Gomm, you're a real genius
Thanks a lot for your music.....!!!!
After all these years, i still love this song above and beyond. The way Jon breathes in every note he plays. Every single tone is felt. Beautiful ❤
I don't have enough vocabulary or even know languages enough to express how deep and powerful is that song.
And that, fellows, is the power of music. The gift to express things you couldn't in any other way.
I'm in love with this piece, already looking forward to acquiring its tab.
BRILLIANT!
I did my best... he definitely pushes the ability of language to capture this maelstrom of sounds.
When someone is one with their instrument it touches the soul 🤘
And that's why we invented a language called music
@@DJCornelis There's an amazing planet somewhere in the universe that has creatures that occupy the skies and oceans using music as their language .. music fills the air and sea .. What a cool place .. I'm glad we invented music as a language on our planet 😉
Beautiful work Jon! :-)
Always amazing the algorithm denied me this one till now! Sad happy day!
Incredible. You can tell the saddest of stories without a single word.
Who in their right mind would dislike this video???? Jealous people evidently, or thrash heads.
Haunting.
The world is not prepared for this. Just a few are the chosen ones.
Congratulations, you´re on.
This song may outwit passion flowers
I heard this song first without knowing about the background story. It rang a bell... from an experience that took place January 2004, when my wife passed away in my arms. "To collapse inward in grief"... I know that expression so well. This is a very beautiful, haunting and comforting piece of music, brilliantly performed. Thank you and Greetings from Germany.
So sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing.
@@sm6jesse Thanks for your kind words!

I was lucky enough to meet you several years ago at one of your gigs in Glossop above a pub at one of your smaller gigs and have been a follower of your music ever since, at the time I was a friend of Steve your father in law who told me about you and enabled me to get tickets although the gig was sold out. Your like a beautiful complex evolving flower forever enchanting us with your music, may it long continue, you bring such joy. The Ghost Inside You is amazing I can't stop playing it, love to you and all of your family, Dot xxx

GOD JON. Non coated strings vibrates even more on harmonics on other frets too. Fan... you're a guru too. Great respect from ❤
I love the way you can tell Jon is really feeling this song when he plays it. especially near the end of the song. . I love watching his facial expressions. 😍🤩😘🥰
Jon, how dare you be so talented. I mean, the nerve of you. Same some for the rest of us, would you?
You are a Bringer of Light, never forget it ❤
I have always believed that there only a handful of people that can truly make a guitar sing, Gilmore, Vai, Heafy, satriani, Howard, This guy makes that list no problem! Fucking gorgeous! That hum is beauty
I wonder if you're aware that you're easily in the top 10 most talented guitarists in history. Your dedication and creativity is inspiring.
Thanks for your wonderful music, Jon 🙏🏼🎸💫
You can tell with your eyes closed, that this is Mr. Gomm.. The depth is unmistakable, tunes of an old soul..

I’m so sorry for your loss Jon; this piece has me all twisted up inside knowing how it came to be. I’ve been listening to your music for awhile and it has given me peace, hope, and drive in times when I couldn’t find it elsewhere. I know I’m just a random stranger on the internet, but I thank you from my core for everything you’ve done
Damn he really killed it, hope one day I’m half as good as he is
What a journey, what colours, what a poem, flying high, away from this old, waste land. Taking us to a purer, uncontaminated landscape. Please Jon, overcome all this sad world, stay pure.

My heart is like shattering and being brought back to life at the same time. Same as with Passionflower. Thanks for gracing us with your beautiful music.

Sorry for your loss....so many of us live with Ghosts. It never is or ever was about not letting go or refusing to move on. It just is ☮️
Thank you jon I cannot explain how much you inspire me as a father this peice truthfully made me shed a tear I could not begin to imagine that feeling and yet this song so beautifully represents the turmoil and raw emotion it really makes me reflect on how lucky I am to be a father never stop being amazing
Now our soul is free ♥️
Ah I see Jon is still being awesome.
Jon, come back to Romania. You are colosal!
Затягивает! Магия! Ты лучший!!!
the transition from 1:30-1:35 is incredible... he really does write and play with so much feeling and what seems like intuition as well. So impressed.
YEAH BABY!!!!!!!💕MY NEW COASTAL DRIVE TRACK,,DEAR JON I THANK YOU-ABSOLUTE DELIGHT!
That build is beautiful
3:00 to 3:46 describes the emotional rollercoaster of grieving.
I cried at that point
Pains me to realize this man will never get the recognition he deserves until long after he’s gone as with many greats. Regardless, tysm for the music you make. If aliens ever touch down here on Earth I’m definitely proposing you as the some of the first tunes for them to listen to🙏🏻
An absolutely beautiful song. I don't talk about this much, or at all. A few years ago my partner had a miscarriage , and to mourn the loss of someone you never met is something else. While there were no song words in the song, I could hear the words of your heart and your pain. Thank you for this
I feel inspired to share a most miraculous and healing book with you “ Embraced By The Light “ by Betty Eadie
Was looking for some songs to relate. Found nothing now this is what I wanted.
his music is not just music, it has message.
Just damn. Just. Damn. No words could do any kind of anything here. What can one say? There are no words for it. Thank you for sharing this with us, sir.
I think this is called magic.
that chord progression is out of this world
Ooh my God what is this beautiful sadness song 😢😢
Very honest, true beauty
1:25... that heartbreaking return to the melody section... very emotional.
Bro sorry for your loss I feel it in this peice excellent display of feeling things will get better and now you get to live his/her life for them keep them inside you forever
The emotion on your face tells the story without you having to explain a single thing. I'm sorry you had to go through that hell, but I thank you for sharing your soul with us.
Words can't describe how impactful it is. Thank you Sir John!
Sending blessings from 🇮🇳
There is a lot of forms of art, but nothing speaks like music does, thank you music, thank you Jon
Modern day guitar hero. Fantastic melodies and a wonderful arrangement of powerful emotions. Loss in any form is difficult.
This song is very beautiful takes us to high places ...
Danke nochmal. 💝
Sliding in to the fifth dimension. Beautiful. ♥️
2:36 opened up a portal to a distant star where as the music continued, I envisioned two celestial bodies embracing in the endless love of their essence. What an amazing gift, thank you, mate!

We all feel like humbled by you john.❤️
There's nothing more inspiring than watching a master at his craft.
Some songs don’t need words, the music says it all. Beautiful Jon, beautiful ❤️
The raw emotion in this....just wow! I'm in tears bro
SHOWWWWWW!
Esse cara é MUITO FERA! Tive a honra de vê-lo pessoalmente aqui no Brasil.
TOP!
I discovered Passionflower all those years ago and hadn't really thought to keep up with your music over the years, recently I finally overcame my depression and I remembered Passionflower, it spoke to me then and still speaks to me now, it got me looking through the back catalogue of songs I've missed over the years and I landed on this one, I've experienced miscarriage myself and it's a pain that you can't quite put into words and I think you proved that with this song because this speaks without words, thank you
Обворожительная музыка! Спасибо Джон!
