  • CCS 388 - Redeemer of Israel
    Redeemer of Israel, our only delight,
    on whom for a blessing we call,
    our shadow by day, and our pillar by night,
    our King, our Companion, our All!
    We know he is coming to gather his sheep
    and plant them in Zion in love;
    for why in the valley of death should they weep
    or alone in the wilderness rove?
    How long we have wandered as strangers in sin
    and cried in the desert for thee!
    Our foes have rejoiced when our sorrows they’ve seen,
    but Israel will shortly be free.
    As children of Zion, good tidings for us,
    the tokens already appear;
    fear not and be just, for the kingdom is ours,
    and the hour of redemption is near.
    Spanish
    Señor, de tu pueblo
    el gozo_eres tú,
    a ti suplicamos favor,
    de día la sombra,
    de noche la luz,
    Compañero y gran Redentor.
    Es cierto que vienes
    tu grey a juntar;
    tu_amor nos será protección;
    del valle de muerte
    nos vas a sacar,
    y llevarnos a salvo a Sión.
    Qué lejos vagamos,
    errados del bien,
    clamando a ti contra_el mal.
    Apiádate pronto,
    escucha y ven,
    y_a tu pueblo retorna_a salvar.
    Hermanos amados,
    contentos estad;
    las señas seguras veréis,
    sed justos y_unidos,
    decid la verdad,
    y_a su reino así entraréis.

    Rédempteur bien-aimé,
    Sauveur d’Israël,
    dont la grâce, nous réclamons,
    sois Gardien constant
    et Roi éternel,
    toujours notre cher Compagnon.
    Il viendra au monde
    chercher ses brebis
    pour les rassembler du désertz ;
    ses enfants en peine
    seront enfin bénis
    en Sion, à nos cœurs si chère.
    Longtemps nous avons erré,
    étrangers pécheurs
    en invoquant ton puissant nomz ;
    de nos peines, hélas,
    se gaussaient les railleursz ;
    mais enfin, le mal nous vaincrons.
    Nous, enfants de Sion,
    réjouissons-nousz ;
    regardons les signes divins,
    et ne craignons pas,
    car le royaume doux
    viendra en ce monde, à la fin.
