I love this!!! He definitely said it wasn't PR culture. I love how this debate is bringing out the best of history that wasn't revealed previously.
Let’s be clear. Hip hop is not Puerto Rican culture, but you find Puerto Rican culture in hip hop via the Latin percussive breakdowns in the bboy anthems. You also find Cuban culture as well
Who ever said it was Puerto Rican culture? Don’t tell me that’ you got people thinking that’s what we say, it’s a Bronx culture and that’s something you outsiders will never understand.
@@Crespo-b1n who said I said that? He said that. If it's only Bronx culture then no influences from elsewhere wouldn't be claimed to be in there. I do understand based on what the elders from that era actually said about it.
It’s a Bronx culture created by the diverse community. There’s Many different influences added into the culture but many people mistake that influence for creation. Hip hop did not come from Puerto Rican culture but there is PR influence on it, same for Jamaicans and blacks. NYricans, Jamericams and BA are who was from that era that created hip hop.
It’s a Bronx street culture that influenced the world. That’s all that needs to be understood.
