    Who is your favorite character from the film?

      Deepak is my favorite character from the film. He is soft and loving towards his wife, takes a stand when required. A true example of a gentleman!

    Bro lapaata ladies surpassed animal on ott because majority audience missed it in theatres but animal was watched by most of the audience in theatre itself so the viewers are mostly the ones who rewatched the movie.

      That’s right. I believe this is still a small win nonetheless, as explained in the end of the video.

      Yeah it is good to see that people are at least acknowledging such films.

    Even in entertainment point of view after interval fight I feel that the movie is stretched all the non sense cringe scenes in the name of comedy I thought Bobby deol will be playing some different villian role but he was a typical telugu film villian all the unnecessary scenes were included in the movie instead the director should have focussed on father and son relationship and the rivalary between the families

    bro Animal was trending in Netflix for more 10 weeks straight, after 3cr footfalls in theaters. You know what, a film called "Raja the great" garnered more TRP than Baahubali2 in telugu, what does this say?? Jaane Jan has more viewership than Jawan. You are trying to push your agenda.

    • @ReelRealReflect

      Hi! When one movie’s viewership is more than the other on OTT, it clearly means more people are watching one content than the other one(at least online). I am not talking about the business made. Jaane Jaan has a far better and gripping plot(content) than Jawaan. Not saying Jawaan is a bad film, I’m saying Jaane Jaan is a better written film.
      Regarding Laapataa Ladies, one thing to consider is that this film with its new cast did better than a movie with a superstar(Ranbir) in it, and a director(SRV) who had a hype created from his first movie.
      The only factor that makes this possible has to be its story?
      There is no agenda here, it is clear as day that a better story/content/writing is doing better online. I have mentioned the reason why Laapataa Ladies didn’t earn big on box office later in the video. I believe a good litmus test for better content movies is OTT viewership, even more than movie theaters.
      Again, Animal is not a bad film but Laapataa Ladies has much more to offer than Animal, and a story very well written which in my books makes it better.

      @@ReelRealReflect Animal was trending in top 10 on Netflix until very last week, and Laapata Ladies did only 0.2M more than Animal in its first month. OTT viewership does not signify anything, it only tells people have watched the mvie untill a certain threshold value 5 min or whatever.
      Many exclusive Adam Sandler films on netflix were highest watched in the first weekend, first week, am sure it will get more viewership than Interstellar, Inception if parallely released, so what now they have now better writting?? They have got viewership because there is no exclusivity involved.
      Films like Animal, Jawan, Sultan, Baahubali have reached their maximum viewership potential while playing in theaters so there will obvioulsy be decline in OTT viewership, and also the OTT viewership depends on the genre of the film. All these popular films are better enjoyed in theater with crowds around.
      Laapata ladies had aamir backing, which is itself very huge, and also the film had some controversy around which would have helped it to get some clicks and also on its own merit.
      Fighter is the highest watched than both Laapata Ladies and Animal, so fighter is a great film now??
      There are too amy gatekeepers today than the original film makers.

    You can't compare any other movie's with Animal bcz it's a unique piece of art. Complex characters, intriguing emotions, wildness , art of violences, out of the world imagination of director Vanga and his exuberant way of presentation.
    Any directors can make movies like Laapata Ladies and there were many movies like that too. But no one can make a movie like ' Animal ' even Director Sandeep Vanga can't do it again...

    Sorry but it was really surprising to watch your videos as our views coincided.
    But calling Lapataa Ladies “not preachy” is the hypocrisy because when I watched it even though I liked the story the movie was too preachy and tried to address too many issues at the same time but missing on the issues men face, not a single word about that.
    There can’t be equality if you portray all the ladies as the epitome of righteousness and men as demons.

    • @anirudhmenon425
      @anirudhmenon425 8 місяців тому +1

      But.... they didn't portray all men as demons

    • @ReelRealReflect
      @ReelRealReflect  8 місяців тому +4

      Hi! I believe the definition of preachy could be a bit subjective. However, the film doesn’t lose its storyline to forcefully send a message which is why it doesn’t feel preachy. I can see why it might look preachy to one, especially Manju Maai’s character but it is only because Phool’s character is naive.
      Sure there are men’s issues which may have not been addressed in the film but the film is about one gender’s social issues, and to show another gender’s issues along with it would have made the film lose its plot.
      Usually, we see male protagonists in a film and women characters are just existing. Similarly, in Laapataa Ladies the men are simply existing because it is a female protagonists story.

      @@ReelRealReflect sorry just seeing the comment notification now…
      those films where women just exist are the masala or commercial movies with almost no subject matter. How can you only talk about the social issues or injustices done to women only. They didn’t have to go too far there were men in the movie. At least a side plot would have been sufficient.
      And yes, Manju Mai was preachy as anything, demonising her husband and kids and maybe that is the reason she was left alone. Now, I get it there are women who face such harsh of relationships but there are also people who could not put up with anyone in early phase of their lives and then blame everyone else for their state.
      And what I meant by my statement, let’s take Masaan for example. It was a perfect low budget movie showing all aspects of society and it can be brutal without seeing your gender.
      One cannot paint everything in one shade and then call it the solemn truth of society.
      PS:- People must watch a lot of true crime to get an idea that nothing is gender specific. Stop putting genders (male or female) on pedestals.

    • @ReelRealReflect
      @ReelRealReflect  8 місяців тому

      While issues not pertaining any particular gender exist, Laapataa Ladies chooses to talk specifically on issues faced by women. Also, important to note that it is set in early 2000s.
      Having said that, what is going on in Indian society today, I believe the day is not too far when we see a male-issue film which I believe is much needed because a man’s inner and external struggles need to be addressed as well.
