      Thanks Jerry. They are great fun on light tackle..give it a go, many spots in north and south shores will have them. I gave the porgies to the neighbors..catch and cook will have to wait.

    One of these days I will try out my kayak if not in the sound maybe Florida, over there I don't have to go out to far.

      You def. should. No need to go far to catch fish, a few hundred yards will do. Thanks for checking out the video. fish on.

    Cool video, I was just wondering do you need to have a special permit to have a boat like that or can anyone just drop one in the water and pedal out?

    • @GillsNThrillsFishing
      @GillsNThrillsFishing  7 років тому

      You don't need a permit..its drop and go. Lets go MET!!

    Sir
    do you find that the kayak is stable
    have you ever capsized
    did you make use of the fishfinder on this trip
    and lastly could you tell me where you launched from and parked legally
    thank you

    • @GillsNThrillsFishing
      @GillsNThrillsFishing  7 років тому

      +Steve Tautog thanks for watching. Fish finder is to locate structures..not so much fish. Kayak is as stable pending user and no have not capsize. Parking at a private residence and launch from there. This is around the port Jeff area. Have fun out there

      +GPM SNEAKS congrats on your new outback. People are catching porgies by Sandy Hook. Fish anywhere that have Rocky bottom, you should be able to find porgies..ie jetties mussels beds.

    Does anyone know this place? I don't mean the exact location but the general area. Smithtown bay or Sunken Meadow? I will subscribe to your channel if you say :)

    • @GillsNThrillsFishing
      @GillsNThrillsFishing  7 років тому

      Thank you for stopping by the channel. Fishing was done in mid long island sound. From western sound to montauk will yield the same kind of fish. It's completely covered with them.
